One Tree Hill Podcast: "Messin' With The Kid"
The gloves come off when we talk about this week's episode of One Tree Hill! Just about everyone on the show is experiencing a little interpersonal turmoil: Jamie gets bullied at school, Haley encounters a Mean Mom, Brooke butts heads with Sam (and Owen!), and Peyton and Lucas discover that moving in together isn't easy. The only one not having a difficult time is Mouth -- unless you count being showered with money and encountering a randy ex girlfriend as "difficult."
Jackie, Mia and I can agree on a few things, but we spend much more time airing our differences. We agreed we can always count on Dan for some things, and we all loved seeing Haley pick up her guitar again, but after that? All bets are off! Find out why Mia thinks she's going to get hate mail, and discover what would make her go to Tree Hill to kick some butts. Discover what had Jackie foaming at the mouth (subtle hint, there) and what plotline she loved that Mia and I could do without. Hear me admit something I never thought I'd say, and get the scoop on what would make me throw punches.
Plus, we debate the Brucas situation, give Sam a little tough love, and discuss what I'm insisting is a direct shout-out. (Hey, a girl can dream, right?)

Hey guys I love your podcasts, even when I sometimes don't agree with everything you say. But I like to listen to others opinions, especially since I have watched OTH since it started. And I can be pretty casual with my thoughts. Basically I enjoy watching it but I don't really analysis it as much as you girls do, lol, your podcasts make me a little more critical. But overall if Mark gives me a least one cute Naley scene I am happy, I know I am so easy. I loved this episode since it was so Naley centric! The whole thing with Brooke, I think people just over react, I get it she is Jamie godmother, my godparents when I was younger came over at least once a week so it seems normal to me that she is so involved with the Scott family.
I also wanted to say something about season 2 of OTH. I hope you girls podcast on it soon, I am dying to hear your thoughts on it. I know you might be a little weary since season 2 is known as the least favorite for a lot of fans, but it isn't as bad as people say. Actually going back to my season 2 DVD’s gave me a new appreciation for that season since it made season 3 so great. Season 3 would not be as good without everything that went down it season 2. Also season 2 shows the gang together more and it has lots of drama which I think you girls like. Plus you girls know what happens in the future so I don't think what goes down in season 2 will affect you as much as it did for us fans who were totally shocked and unsure where Mark was going at the time. Overall I hope this will help push you girls to podcast season two.

This was actually one of my fave episodes this season. I admit that Jamie at the end of the episode was not Jamie it was like a totally dif kid. He listens to his grandpa and he gets touch of evil. MC Hammer is good I've still got one of his necklaces he gave me, well only because I was actually running around bacstage at one of his concerts granted I was 3 at the time so my memory is still foggy about that. This episode proved that Lucas and Peyton are not compatible with each other I mean for people that declared their love for each other they sure don't know a lot about it each other. I love them mention Brooke most of the time. I mean some parts of their scenes were funny but most of it ummmmm I'm no too sure about. I kinda agree with Owen although Brooke didn't ask it was kinda implied that if you're Brooke then the baby comes as part of the package. But the only thing I didn't like was Owen leaving and not saying goodbye. Sam is def being ungrateful and just plain stubborn. OMG Gigi is back! yay she was awesome and looks hotter than ever, I hope to see more of her. Haley was awesome this episode you rarely see her lose her temper and when she does wow just great. I completely forgot about Peyton's dream it was funny. And yes I think we Brucas fans are being toyed with it's just such a tease. It just seems that Leyton just can't esacape Brooke it's like Brooke will always be in their relationship somehow. great podcast

Seven episodes in and we still haven't gotten a Brucas scene? That is ridiculous. They are my favourite couple on this show and it's sad that after their beautiful friendship in season 5, we have no scenes together. Where is the balance on this show?
Also, Sophia and her inability to keep personal relationships from mixing with work annoys me to no end. It's obvious those two requested scenes together just like her and Chad did in Season 2. And it find it funny that their scenes are so awkward. Wouldn't you be relatively at ease with people that you have sex with? Sophia and James are both laughable and complete jokes. I used to adore Sophia so much but her lack of professionalism makes it hard to support her as an actress.

"He's a dork and the show won't acknowledge that!"
Thank you Jackie. I cackled loudly. Agree agree.
This episode wasn't perfect, no, but it was so much better than the whole rest of the season (save Episode 1) that I overlooked a lot of it. A decent episode gets things forgiven.

This episode sucked. Too many stupid scenes, especially with Lucas and Peyton. I guess they're trying to show us how "great" they are because we've been saying that they're boring us to tears. Now, they just showed me how even more superficial and sexual their relationship is.
Do we have to beg you to watch seasons 2 and 3? They were amazing seasons! You'll love them! I'm dying to see what you think of them and of Brooke & Lucas and Jake & Peyton! And of course, Nathan & Haley's heartbreaking and tear-jerking times!

I just wanna say one thing about Jamie being arrogant. Maybe the writers are trying to show how Nathan got to the point that he was in the beginning of the series. From the looks of things, Dan probably blew Nathan's head up to the point that he was the arrogant jerk. Dan and Nathan are telling Jamie things that can give him a big head but Haley's there to deflate it a little bit.

it's about time we got a light happy episode!! geez i was getting tired of all the darkness and missing the laughter.
i like lucas and peyton in this ep they were fun and funny and it was kinda refreshing to see lucas in an ep for like the first time this season. he's not my fav but he was the main charactor on the show so i did miss seein him.
still hate the brooke/sam storey line. i agree with you girls, i just wanna see brooke havin fun and bein a normal 22 yr old!! go out get drunk, have fun with owen or someone else, lighten up!!!! lol i just wanna see her have some fun for once. can't stand sam storey line. she's all like boo hoo poor me ppl always give up on me.. PLEASE!! i'd give up on her too if she treated me like she treated brooke.
loved that haley almost beat that mom up, i like it when haley is a bad ass! and nathan looked so hot when he was at the play ground and winked lol but he is ALWAYS hot! but i REALLY REALLY REALLY miss the old naley! i want more of them together being a couple and loving each other and being with each other. i mean, do they even have sex anymore!?!? lol seriously cuz this was like one of the first episodes we've even seen em kiss since the 4th season. well not that much but we rarely do see them together like we used to in like the 3rd season so i miss that.
but good episode all in all. a few things buged me but whatever. can't wait till next week!

Really the favoritism and attention on the Brooke/BL fans is so obvious, to the point where you all sound pretty ignorant about the show. Sure there has been one too many N/B scenes and from a Brooke perspective she should be sharing those scenes with Lucas...but then again most of the controversy/complaints stem from NH fans feeling cheated out of scenes in service of a relationship that is completely contrived and just a ploy to coerce Brooke into NHJ's storyline.
I honestly thought with the previous podcast there would be a balance when discussing the storylines but close to nothing is said about Haley/NH. Not only do I have to sit through a show that caters mostly to LP/Brooke/Mouth fans (that is if Mouth has any other than Mark) and gives NH and Haley fans in particular the shaft but I also have to sit through a podcast that does the same.
And even looking at the banner for this CW podcast proves my point. Where the heck is Haley on that btw? It really grates my nerves when she's forgotten about or barely ever acknowledge because she isn't over the top or obvious. But whatever, I hope Joy doesn't sign on for a seventh season and gets the hell away from this show. Her talent is completely overlooked and under utilized
And the CODA? I loved that she sang and she was so close to getting the spotlight until they had a montage of everyone else talking over her duet with Grace Potter which had the potential to be the best part of the episode. But like everything Haley-related, the writers managed to royally screw that up. Bravo writers!

Brooke and Lucas were best friends in season 5's end. Now, they've had a grand total of 0 scenes together in 7 episodes. My reasoning: the writers do not want to write them together because their chemistry is so real and they bring life to the scene, and together, they would make the LP scenes more dull and nauseating than they already are.
Interesting that Peyton is insecure about Lucas' connection to Brooke though (mention of the tattoo). And she had a dream that Lucas still thought Brooke was hot.
The Peyton and Lucas scenes were stupid.
Dan... classic Dan. I love him!
Owen needs to go. He's not right for Brooke. The only person Brooke ever loved was Lucas. And she said "I will always love you Lucas" as she left him the last time they were dating.
I am sick of Brooke taking care of someone. It was semi-believable when it was Angie. But a 15 year old?! NO! They just want to give her a story to keep her away from LP.
Nathan, Haley, Jamie were cute. But it did kind of bother me that Jamie said that to the boy. That was a little arrogant.
I don't know, but I love that Gigi is back! She's still the same, dirty-minded girl, only now she does something about it! lol. And from the looks of the promo, she's gonna be hitting on Millicent (or something) next episode! LMAO!

I wasn't a huge fan of this podcast. I really liked this episode and thought for sure this would be the one all three of you agreed on. I think Leyton was the best they have been in a long time. I don't think their scenes were cheesy, infact I was so glad that they were showing them actually just being in a normal healthy relationship for a change. They were very funny and real.
Haley is getting back to her music and I am still waiting for news of a new album cause I just love her (Joy's) voice. and I love how Nathan and Haley have been really supportive of eachother. That is why it doesn't bother me that she isn't upset about Slamball. When they were in counseling they agreed to go for their dreams. Besides we really don't know everything about this sport so I don't want to judge it too early.
As for the Brooke/Sam SL I really agree! Brooke doesn't need another struggle. I agree that she needs to have fun being a 22 year old.
And lastly I too cringed a little at the end when Jamie said that to the kid. I don't understand why everyone (Dan, his parents) build him up so much, it's just going to make him get a big head.

In Peyton's dream. It wasn't Lucas and Brooke share the cage. LOL!
It was Peyton and Brooke share the cage. She basically wants Brooke. That's why it was funny. He said, "You two can share the cage". lol!
I'm telling you they are going to kill off Lucas at the end of the season and BP will become lovers. They always talk about the sexual tension between BP for years now, Lucas dies Peyton is pregnant and BP rise it together and become lovers. LOL! Mark loves them why not. That's the one friendship he adores the most and loves dearly.

Great podcast.
As you can see from other posts, there have been no Brooke/Lucas scenes at all this season except for the dream sequence from the first episode. And this...doesn't surprise me. The same thing happened in Season 4 when Lucas and Peyton were together. No connection with Brooke.
With the connection that Brooke and Lucas had last season, I was hoping for a continuation of their friendship for Season 6. And I'm so disappointed that it's totally being ignored. I'm not expecting anything romantic between them, I would just love to see what was reintroduced last season.
Nathan and Haley...I just love them to death. I'm really excited that we're getting to see more of them and their family. This couple has been ignored storyline wise and it's great to see that they're getting back to their roots: basketball and music.
One question: Did Peyton at least tell Lucas about Brooke's attack? I mean, you would at least think someone else would know about her attack. I hope this isn't something that will just be ignored like alot of other things on the show that have been ignored.
I thought the Lucas/Peyton scenes were a bit on the cheesy side, but I did laugh at what was going on. Loved the comments that they both made. And I almost fell to the floor when in Peyton's dream Lucas suggested he and Brooke get in the "cage". Could this be an insecurity???
I love Dan..still hate that he killed Keith, but he's the best "villian" out there.
That's all I gotta say...for now. Wait..one more thing...please make Owen go away. Okay, now that's all. :)

It's funny how LPers try to avoid the fact that the non existent BL scenes is important.
I understand that BL are not a couple right now but I don't get why they can't be friends.
When BL were together LP had an amazing friendship and I Loved that...
'Cause you don't have to lose your friends when you're in a relationship...
They haven't got much scenes with other people, specially Lucas...
So... Mark, BL is important for the show... give us sth!
I really believe there's hope for BL...
And I also want Naley sex!!! We miss it!

I thought I posted here since it's about the Podcast.
The Episode was nice this week best one of season so far better than all those gloomy ones we had at the start. See the ratings. lol!
LP were great this week. Am going to have to disagree with you on that. Enjoyed them, I think you guys keep forgetting that Tree Hill gang are 22 years old, and when first moving in together that's what happens. I know me and my husband did these stupid things too (We're 23 and 24 years old). So it was normal for Lucas and Peyton doing that. Maybe you guys don't like these sorta things who knows. But they were hilarious I'll say that.
Anyways, about the whole BN scenes They are just there to include Brooke into the Core. Plus it does have to do with Sophia/James lol! They have something. It's obvious being anything. Haley can also make Capes, so him going to Brooke was WTF! Yeah, see. They are including BN just to have them really.
Whole Peyton dream so the fact that Peyton wants to get it on with Brooke. She's wants a threesome.
I think the thing you guys are forgetting is that Season 5 Mark need away to include Brooke into the Cliffhanger and without BL interracting it wasn't possible. Also Joe leaving on to do a Movie messed everything Up, He even said it himself. If he didn't have to go on the Movie filming Owen would have been around, hence NO BROOKE IN CLIFFHANGER. So Mark and them needed to do something with Brooke. Plus LP weren't interracting they were off and being awkward since 508, Peyton said she was going to let go of Lucas. So Lucas need someone to be around and Brooke was on her own. So they needed a BL intraction or else the Cliffhanger wouldn't work for him. Even though it still was Stupid and made no sense. But that was the whole reason why BL seemed BFF. Because 1st half of S5 there wasn't that many intractions?? Do See the the pattern.
So this season there being NO BL scenes Yet, is no surprise to me, because Mark only uses Characters to move around storylines and connect them. That's all OTH does and been doing since S3. If you guys watch all of the series you'll see the common theme.
So it doesn't really bother me there being no BL scenes because at this Point I really lost interest in them. If we get friendship fine, great, but not really bothered by it.
I also get the feel the show, Characters are really over the whole BLP thing. I know the Actors seem they don't want it.
Plus BL scenes are not the only scenes missing. There's
No Haley/Peyton
No Lucas/Haley
No Nathan/Peyton (do they even know each other), And not many Lucas/Nathan, even Jamie/Lucas I don't even think he's his uncle anymore. Even Skills/Peyton (what happen to that) lol!
Like I said they use Characters for Storylines Purpose. So I wouldn't think too much of it. That's how OTH rolls. LOL!

hey girls, great podcast again. Would just wish, you would like the episodes more. Had really faith this week that all three of you would, but okay. can live with it. ;)
to begin with the end of your podcast, I think it's not a big thing that Lucas and Brooke have had no scenes together lately. Like Sarah said, they all have their separate story line, and in steed of a BL scene, I would like to see more Lucas and Haley scenes because they used to be best friends. But even psycho nanny didn't let them share a scene. I think that's much more to worry about.
The Nathan/Brooke scene. I liked it. Over the years, you got the feeling that they were never really friends with each other until they did some working there in season 4 (where sadly this stupid sex tape came out) and now again. nothing wrong with that.
Agree on everything you guys said about Mouth. totally out of character and I really just want him gone.
Disagree on Leyton, because I really liked them this week, which is a first in this season and for the 'the cure' part - peyton and sarah are right!!! you HAVE to like them. ;)
Also disagree on Mia and Sarah with the Scott family scenes. I thought they were pretty great and you even could see Nathan and Haley kiss ... which is also something that maybe should be more discussed than BL scenes... ;)
But that's just me. Anyway, great work girls ... always great to hear your opinion on the show.
