One Tree Hill: Exciting New Developments!

You must pay the rent! I can't pay the rent!
There's never a dull moment in Tree Hill! This week, the gang faced off with people from their past with mixed results. We adored most of the storylines and the hilarious lines this week -- the writers and actors were having fun with this one!

Besides the fun pace and new developments, we loved all the scenes that paired characters who don't usually get much screentime together. Brooke and Lucas! Nathan and Owen! Nathan and Mouth! Haley, Brooke, and Millie! And that good old-fashioned Lucas/Haley scene reminded us of Season One.

Let's start with Nathan and Haley. Haley's doing her best to be a supportive wife while Nathan slams his way through Slamball with the bruises to prove it. She talks to Lucas about her worries, and Lucas assures her everything's going to be okay. With Jamie out of the house sleeping over at Aunt Brooke's (more on that in a minute!), Haley and Nathan have an evening alone to talk and get passionate. In one of the cutest scenes of the night, Haley tinkers with the piano while Nathan grimaces, and she can't figure out why. Nathan tells her this is what it's like when she makes faces while he plays. Aww! The Scotts end the night with a sensual massage for Nathan from Haley.

Lucas and Peyton each have their hands full with unexpected visitors. Peyton reunites with her brother at a Marines ceremony, and they reminisce about Psycho Derek and chat about Mick. But it's Lucas who has the more interesting visitor. An agent, Julian, shows up on Lucas's porch wanting to meet about turning the first book into a movie. He assures Lucas he's a good guy and really wants to work with him to make it a success. Lucas is a little skeptical, but he checks out Julian's references and everything looks good, so he agrees to meet him for a drink.

Meanwhile, Gigi still hasn't learned anything about appropriate behavior in the workplace. She continues to flirt with Mouth, and Millicent is jealous. Millie effectively marks her territory with a big smooch, but it may have backfired -- Gigi tells Mouth that he's on a tight leash. And the comments don't let up. She can't seem to stop calling him "sexy" or referring to their history. In between interview segments, Nathan gives Mouth some important advice about sticking with his girl and not letting another one come between them. Mouth assures Nathan that he knows, but we have to wonder if he's just a little tempted.

Jamie and Haley visit Q's grave. Jamie asks Haley what she thought of Q when she first met him, and she tells him she thought Q was a bad guy at first. Interesting. There's some cute conversation about whether or not Q is happy in heaven. They decide that he definitely is.

Brooke has her hands full this week -- she's making Peyton's wedding dress, hosting Jamie for a sleepover, trying to keep Sam in line, and fending off Owen's persistent advances. Phew! Sam takes Jamie into her room while Owen tries to convince Brooke to give him another chance, and after a few minutes, Sam has the not-so-bright idea to take Jamie to a party with her.

Owen is just starting to sway Brooke when Millie bursts in -- someone's trying to break into Brooke's boutique. Brooke is livid and goes hunting for her gun... when she sees that Sam and Jamie are gone. And we thought she was livid before! She, Owen, and Millie go tearing through Tree Hill and encounter a truly terrible sight: Sam and a bunch of high schoolers are partying in the now-trashed boutique. Jamie's there, and so is a drunk skateboarding dude who's wearing Peyton's dress -- it's totally spray painted and ruined. Brooke is almost speechless with anger. Can you blame her?

Brooke shares a moment with Jamie, who is wise beyond his years and tells her that Sam isn't really that bad. She's like Q -- she seems bad at first, but she's really a good person. Brooke isn't so sure, but she doesn't give up on Sam like Sam expects it. Back at the house, Brooke grounds Sam and confines her to Brooke's own room -- the windows don't open there. Once again, Sam is all blubbery and upset, trying to apologize and explain herself. But ultimately, she's surprised that Brooke hasn't given up on her yet. It takes a lot to wear Brooke Davis down, apparently.

Back at the bar, Lucas calls Peyton and tells her to come out and meet his agent. Julian talks Lucas into signing an iffy contract that basically allows Julian to do whatever he wants with the novel, but only for six months. Lucas is skeptical, but he allows himself to be talked into it and signs (even as we screamed "Don't do it!" from our couches). Moments later, Peyton arrives, but she runs into Julian by the restrooms first. And they apparently know each other quite well. He makes several references to their past, unnerving Peyton just in time for Lucas to show up. Peyton doesn't seem to want Lucas to know that she knows Julian.... we wonder what happened between those two. Something sordid during her LA years, perhaps?

Who ever noticed Jamie's fake tooth I did too! It was like the first thing I noticed about him. It was so ugly. I really liked this episode tho it was my fav except for Sam she needs to go!

LOVED the reference to Shia LaBeouf =)

You Brucas fans are hilarious! Did we watch the same episode?! Where do you get these things - flirting, inspiration, ...?!?!?!?! C'mon! Get over it. It's over between them. Luke and Peyton are gonna get married, there will probably be problems (Julian?!), but Luke and Brooke are OVER, dead, finito!!!! And even if I were a Brucas fan, I wouldn't won't Leyton to break up 'cos I think we had enough of that in the past seasons - Leyton, Brucas, and Leyton, and Brucas, and Leyton,....

Loved thi episode, many BL hints;)
I just loved that Lucas looked at Brooke when he talked to Peyton about his book turning into a movie. And he had that special look when when he looked at Brooke, i love their looks<3
And other hint was that Nathan asking Lucas if he has talked to Brooke about the book, and then Nathan says "Dude! She/Brooke is the other half" LOVED IT!!!
I don't think that Mark will give us these hints without anything coming.

THe Brucas scene:
Lucas pissed me off cause he probably knows about everything that has happend with Brooke, cause Peyton knows it and she has probably talked to him. And thie first thing they talk about this season is HIS movie!!
But they were flirting! That was the only thing i love with this scne + the humor!!

And Nathan looked HOT! <3
BL FOREVER<3

Also...
In the B/H conversation, when Brooke said she wasn't feeling inspired, anybody else's thoughts jumped to Lucas? They are each other's inspirations.

Think about it - he was with her when he started 'An Unkindness Of Ravens', and the long awaited acknowledgement of half of the book being about Brooke.
She started C|B when trying to get over Lucas, and a year after graduation, Victoria had been pushing her to expand, but she didn't want to until one night where Lucas comes, fakes an engagement with her, kisses her and she agrees to expand the very same night, ending with 'Lucas Scott was the one I might have given it all up for'.

She hdn't seen him since, and she started missing Tree Hill enough to go there instead of Milan...she goes to see him, greets him with a hug and then opens up a C|B boutique in Tree Hill the next episode. He helps her with Angie, then Voila! The 'Baby Brooke' clothing line...

They don't talk for the first 8 episodes of season 6, and she tells Haley she just 'hasn't been feeling inspired lately'...C'mon!!!

The only thing she has designed recently in Peyton's wedding dress, for LP's wedding - talk about facing things head on when trying to get over them....

I think this is a nod to BL fans from Mark...well, i hope!

Sorry for rambling a bit :)

When nathan said 'Brooke's the other heart' i heart sort of went like *thud*.

then i was squeeing and watching it 20 times over - whats this? a recognition of BLs past? Miracles really do happen :)

loved the BL scene too - except the whole "it's an epic lovestory, l+p" because EPIC? c'mon...my eyes are still rolling. (Long and drawn out does NOT therefore make this epic)

Sam annoyed me, jamie was adorable in the beginning with the whole:

"they used to kiss" and "Momma says i'm not allowed to date til i'm older. Dad says I can, though"....it was ADORABLE.

I loved this episode!! Of course Nathan and Haley are still cute as ever.... but I also really like Owen & Brooke. I feel like they balance each other really well.

Not sure how I feel about the Julian and Brooke rumors...he seems so shady...what will Owen think? Can't wait to find out!

I loved this episode! It kept me interested the whole time, and I was sad to see it end.

I was SO happy to hear Nathan say that Brooke was half the story. People seem to forget that.

And I was shocked to see a Brucas scene. Although I was disappointed at how quickly Brooke said she didn't care, and how she proceeded to be the Leyton cheerleader, yet again...

My eyes were deceiving me last night. An actual scene between Brooke and Lucas!! Hallelujah, it's a miracle. And...and Nathan telling Lucas that the book is not only about Peyton, it's about Brooke as well. Confirmation of their relationship. Yet another miracle.

This was a pretty good episode last night. I can go with more Brooke/Haley/Millie scenes and less Mouth/GiGi scenes. What has gotten into that girl..she's crazier than she was when she was in high school.

I'm very curious about Julian's character. I think he will be a great addition and will definately be up to no good when it comes to Lucas and Peyton...and I have a feeling other characters in Tree Hill.

Bringin' out the OTH old school. Starting to feel like home again.

yea, LOVED this episode!
i felt like we got back to the old vibes of the show.
the first scene was AMAZING!!! everyone was there and i LOVE LOVE LOVED it!!!
the writers get 2 thumbs up from me this wk! HILARIOUS one-liners! and overall a REALLY great episode!!!

I thought the part with nathan bringing owen to talk to brooke was funny, and cute, the episode had many cute moments. however, all is see happening with this new movie producer guy is stalker derek all over again.... i'm not too impressed.

I'm with you girls on this one...I LOVED this episode! Best one of the season for sure! :)
