Privilileged: All about Insecurities

Who knew that Rose and Sage where such huge fans of Sonny and Cher?
Everyone seriously rooting for the Charlie-Megan hookup: We’re sorry. There was definitely a love connection on last night’s Privileged, but of the Will-Megan variety.

We know we’ll get lots of Charlie cheerleaders complaining here, but we’re glad to see Will and Megan get together. Megan and Charlie play the friend thing very well, but we’ve learned from many relationships that friends don’t necessarily make the best boyfriends.

There are many reasons why Megan and Will make the better pair. First, they have gotten to know each other but have not become super-close to the point they are good friends, so they are already beyond that awkward get-to-know-you stage.

Plus, they have different yet similar personalities. While their views of life stem mainly from their different upbringings, they are both good people at heart, both of whom are trying to make their mark on the world. In the end, we think this is why their relationship will work.

But, we don’t want to be naïve, so we have to address the fact that Will did have a relationship with Lily. We don't know exactly how that will effect their relationship, but we think it might cause a little cat-fighting between the two sisters. Either that, or Lily will be totally snobby about the fact that she was with Will first. Who knows with that girl?

Amidst all this excitement and drama, we did think that Megan’s visiting girlfriend was right. Her life is worth writing about. But what we can’t figure out is why Megan automatically jumps to the conclusion that it would have to be some seedy exposé.

She can totally write it as a love story or a coming of age story. We tune in every week to watch what happens, so how could a book be any different? We don’t feel that anyone’s life is overexposed or that anyone in the household is a bad person. We love everyone, even the often misunderstood Sage.

Another great development: Rose and Sage finally get their chance to shine when the new publicists gets them a gig at a club opening. And, boy-oh-boy, does Lucy Kate Hale have a sexy jazz voice. We heard she could sing but she was really hot last night!

But, we have to ask: what the heck were these two wearing? Did you check out the totally nasty hippie look during the rehearsal? Now, we’re all for the retro look, but you have to do it with modern flair. Come on girls, you should know better than that. Another fashion faux pas was Rose’s socks the night of the opening. Can you say Rainbow Bright?

The only downside to the duet (beside the sudden appearance of bad clothing) is the fact that Rose blew off studying and is probably going to totally fail her final. Perfect, considering the fact that Laurel chews out Megan for the girls’ midterms not being good enough.

And decidedly absent from this episode… Charlie. We wonder what he will think when he finds out about Megan and Will?
