Top Model: Marjorie Lives It Up -- And Goes Home
Marjorie went home last night after several not-so-great weeks at panel. Will you miss her? She may not be America's Next Top Model, but she could be in the running for America's Twitchiest Model! Joking aside, we'll miss Marjorie's unique mannerisms and constant self-doubt. The girl grew on us.
At least the notoriously nervous gal got to go out with a bang. A $10,000 shopping spree! A bathtub groping session with a hot Dutch guy! Marjorie livened up this episode more than the other three girls combined -- but we're getting ahead of ourselves...The episode kicked off with Selling Products 101, taught by Prof. Paulina. And the products included normal-ish stuff like cheese and cell phones, plus some really out-there items: smelly herring and toilet paper rolls galore. Then it was on to the challenge, which involved smooching megamodel Mark Vanderloo in a simulated flirty commercial. All the girls did fairly well and put their own spin on the ad, but it Marjorie's endearing awkwardness that actually worked in her favor and won her the challenge. Her prize? A $10,000 shopping spree at G Star, which she graciously split with Analeigh.
Because the judges have hammered into her that she's too tense, Marjorie decided it was time to relax and let loose... which started with a posse of hot Dutch guys bearing pizza and wine! None of the girls drink except for Marj, but she drank enough for the four of them and had a blast playing kissing games while the other guys played cards and wrestled with Sam and McKey, respectfully.
But the party took a turn for the worse when Marjorie ended up in the hot tub (fully clothed) with one of the guys. And he wouldn't leave. Instead, he pondered proposing to Marj (who probably would've accepted, given the state she was in!). Analeigh tried to break it up, but the other guys ushered her away -- until she got McKey and Sam on her side, too, and McKey shouted something about dragging Hot Tub Boy out by his trousers (there's that semi-English accent again!).
On to the photo shoot! This week, the models sported insanely scary makeup and futuristic, plastic-y garb for a jarring juxtaposition: barely-human-looking model against a serene backdrop of a traditional Dutch windmill. Sam almost blew it but redeemed herself during the final few frames. Analeigh and McKey continued to impress the judges. And Marjorie was too flat, according to Jay.
At panel, Tyra and the judges made it clear that either Sam or Marjorie would go. Sam doesn't look like a model, true -- she showed up at panel wearing a striped hooded sweatshirt and slicked-back hair. But Marjorie has lost the spark that made her who she was! Ultimately, Marjorie went home, and she shared one of the most tearful Top Model farewells we've seen with best bud Analeigh.
