One Tree Hill: (Almost) Back With a Bang

What's up with Peyton: She calls Lucas in LA with some big news -- they're going to have a baby! Phew. We were worried with those cancer-scare plotlines last month, and we're relieved that Peyton is for once the recipient of happy news.
What's up with Lucas: He's stuck in LA -- and stuck with the worst storyline of the bunch. Somehow the director's threatening to walk, and the head of the studio wants to talk to Lucas. Oh, and it turns out the head of the studio happens to be really critical of Julian... because he's Julian's dad! Kind of hard to believe. The dad doesn't believe in his son, which leads Lucas to realize that maybe Julian's actually working for him and a good guy... but enough about that. Far more interesting things happened in this episode!
What's up with Nathan: He's the new point guard of the Charleston Chiefs! Haley and Jamie are thrilled for him, but life's not so easy on the court. First, he's surprised to see that the general manager that once recruited him is now his coach. And once again, Nathan encounters some tough talk from the other players -- one of the guys is threatened that Nathan's taking his position.
What's up with Brooke: She's freaked out. Sam is gone, and she needs to find her. So she tears through town on a rampage, but the cops are less than helpful, and Sam won't answer her phone. Peyton teams up with her to help, and Julian stops by with some support, too.
What's up with Sam: She's in a really shady situation with her pal Jack Daniels and his criminal brother. Things go from bad to worse when the brother starts accusing her of ratting him out to Brooke (since he stole her sketches and attacked her). He locks her and Jack in a room. They've almost escaped, but the brother catches Sam, and Jack runs away and leaves her there. Some friend. The brother tapes Sam's mouth shut and locks her in the room alone.
What's up with Mia: She apologizes to Peyton for her outburst and agrees to come up with some new, original music in addition to writing what the label wants from her. But finding inspiration is harder than she thought...
What's up with Mouth: He's lamenting the loss of Millie. Skills (yay, Skills is back!) tries to offer some advice and says she'll come back, but Mouth isn't so sure.
What's up with Owen: Sober no more, he's drinking his way through the day at the bar after a late-night romp with Millie.
What's up with Haley: She's busy inspiring Mia to write new music (by encouraging her to get a life!) and helping Brooke get Sam's friend's home address. Oh, and figuring out that Peyton's pregnant! She's the only one besides Lucas who knows so far.
What's up with Jamie: He's playing with Q's little brother. The little guys decide to go to the cemetery to visit Q. They pack some cookies and have some adorable chats about ghosts, missing Q, and family. Of course, Q's mother is terrified and relieved when she finds them at the cemetery.
How does it all wrap up? Millie tells Mouth that she had sex last night, and she wishes she could take it back, and that it had been with him... but it's too late. He's really upset.
Nathan doesn't let the taunts get to him. He's been challenged before, by Q, and this time, he knows how to handle it. He tells the guy that he's better than he is and he's the one going to the NBA... and then he goes home to call his family and tell Jamie about what a great day he had.
Lucas tells Julian's dad that Julian is actually a big part of the movie's success, and he believes in him. Finding out he's going to be a father has made Lucas see things in a new way... okay, enough of that. Let's get to the more exciting stuff.
Chase shows up! He tells Owen that Peyton called him, and he's here to help. Owen needs to get help, and he can't be an alcoholic working in a bar. So Chase takes over bartending. One problem: he doesn't know how. Good thing Mia's around! He recruits her to make a Long Island iced tea, which she does expertly. Maybe this will provide some inspiration for her music!
Jack Daniels comes to Julian and asks for some help....
Brooke goes to talk to Jack Daniels, but ends up talking with his creepy brother who claims to not know anything. She's about to leave, but when he tells her to "have a good night," it all comes back to her. He was the one who attacked her! Brooke rushes back to the door and sprays him with pepper spray, knocks him over, and goes running through the house looking for Sam. While we admire her courage, we spent this entire segment screaming, "Why didn't you get help or call the cops first?!"
She finds Sam and tries to free her, but the evil brother returns. He's getting a grip on Brooke, but she manages to get to her purse during the scuffle.. and she pulls a gun on him. He doesn't think she'll really shoot him, but it looks like she might. Behind her, Julian and Jack Daniels arrive, but it's Sam who gets her to give in when she says, "Please, don't... I need you, Mom." Brooke decides this guy's not worth the trouble, and she runs to Sam for a teary embrace.
Millie moves out. She tells Mouth she's sorry, and he says he's sorry, too.
Later, when the cops come to the Daniels residence, they find out that he was Quentin's killer, too. Apparently this guy's the only criminal in Tree Hill, so hopefully the crime rate will go down now that he's behind bars. Brooke collapses in Julian's arms (wonder what's going to happen there?).
Lucas comes home and shares a special moment with Peyton. They're going to be parents!

OH MY GOD! I know not all three of you were ecstatic about this episode, and honestly, there were parts i could have lived without. But i LOVED this episode, no doubt. I'm just gonna say it: this might be my favorite episode ever! Thank god peyton isnt having her life threatened or her heart broken for a few episodes, even if her happiness means being with that flake of a bf lucas. The uncharacteristic break in her stormy storyline is refreshing, but im afraid it means that something bad is on the horizon...
Please, Mark! Dont Kill the Leyton baby!
Good for Brooke. I loved that scene. she kicked ass, I got chills. I really wanted her to kill the creep for a moment, but the pistol whip in the end was satisfactory enough lol. Go her!
Keep up the awesome podcasts!
Ps. I think it was Sarah that said she played vball...Well Im a volleyball player as well; a middle blocker! I was so excited to hear that! Just wanted to mention that.

This was an excellent episode :)
It had everything, simple things, touching emotional moments and dynamic action scenes. I loved everything, especially pregnant Peyton. I never imagined her pregnant, but now it seems like the most natural thing ever. Hilarie rocked her scenes and that last Lucas and Peyton scene is by far the most magical thing I have seen in a long time. Please, please, let those two have their happy ending and a family. I couldn't stand anymore drama and pain in their lives. Bring on the happy tears :) And Lucas defending Julian in front of his father after finding he is going to be one himself just made me remember why Lucas is such a great character.
Brooke was awesome confronting her attacker, but I vote for no more stalkers, kidnappers, and other freaks! It's also interesting to watch where are they going with Brooke and Julian.
Again, great episode. Hoping for more to come...

I like the new episode, it was really exciting and interesting. As well so i like as well that, That Lucas and Peyton will have a child, but I am a little sad for i miss romantic stages between Haley and Nathan. When looking together at them they make me think that the real love existed and feel to myself extremely. Salute from all fans in Bulgaria!!!

I'm so happy the show is back because I really missed the podcasts!!
I enjoyed the show. I'm happy that Brooke got to confront her attacker, I kind of thought Julian was going to come in and save the day but he just stood that and that made me like him more.
Welcome back!! Yeah!

I agree with the comment below... one of the best episodes of the season.
In regards to Lucas and Peyton, I just hope Lucas doesn't get too caught up in his movie and ignore the things that are truely important... Peyton being pregnant comes to mind.
As for Brooke... bold move to go back in the house without any help, but she had it under control. She should have really beat the crap out of that guy. I think she let him off too easy.
All in all, I think it was a great way to pick up the season.

OMG! This episode was by far one of the most riveting, exciting, knock me off my chair episodes that I have seen. I came on the site early this morning waiting for this article just so I could comment! I loved it!
I agree that Lucas' storyline is really grummy. Ever since he and Peyton got back together it's like they're always apart. He's forever off somewhere with his book or movie and Peyton is home alone. Their relationship is over the phone and he's never around. COme on! Now that she's pregnant(which I'm ecstatic about btw) maybe we could actually see some more great Leyton moments. I felt a physical reaction when he kissed her stomach...AW!
Way to go Brooke! She was so kick ass. I literally started jumping up and down when the fight broke out. Oh she gave it to him good especialy cause he didn't see it coming. I kinda hoped she would pull the triger but not in his head just like in his shoulder or something. But maybe that would have been too much especialy after all the blood we've seen so far from OTH....you guys rock!

I was also thinking .. why didn't Brooke call ANYONE before trying to get back into the house to look for Sam .. but then again, it wouldn't have been nearly as suspenseful if she had.
It was also disturbing to see Jamie and Q's little brother just wander off towards the cemetery all by themselves!
