Smallville: Back to the Mack

A new episode of Smallville is just one week away and we could not be more excited, but this week is all about you, the readers, and your desire for Chloe coverage. That’s right, let it be known that we read what you have to say and give you what you want. Last week, Donny, along with others, expressed concern that we were overlooking the performance of Allison Mack and now we are clearing the air. What better way to start than with a Top 5 List? If these are not your Top 5 moments with Chloe, tell us what are.

Chloe Sullivan has had a tremendous impact on the young life of Clark Kent, which is no small deal as the character was created solely for Smallville. From her schoolgirl crush on Clark to her murderous ways while infected with Brainiac, Chloe has always been the brain behind the Man of Steel’s brawn -- well, except possibly when she worked for Lionel Luthor. But that was Season 2 to 3; we can look past that now, right?

Most recently, Season 8 has dealt with Chloe being rescued from Brainiac’s control in “Legion,” the episode of “Bride,” in which Chloe and Jimmy are married and, most recently, Oliver Queen being caught on tape by Chloe as the one who killed Lex Luthor.

Oliver Queen: “Please don't stand there and look so innocent. You know, I did a little video viewing of my own. Seems a certain meteor freak named Sebastian Kane died at the hospital. Right after he was visited by somebody who looked an awful lot like you."
Chloe Sullivan: "That was Brainiac. Not me."
Oliver Queen: "Was it? Because it seemed like a pretty natural instinct to protect Clark."

Secrets, secrets, secrets. Hasn’t she learned that keeping things from Clark always nets bad results?

Smallville appears to be transitioning into the adult life of Clark (admittedly, not always smoothly) and the Superman we know and love from the comics. That being said, Chloe is not part of that future world for Clark. With eight episodes left in Season 8 and a full Season 9 announced, we begin to wonder if, before Season 9 is over, the writers will decide they need to kill Chloe? We know, we know. No one likes to think about this, but is it inevitable?

We would also like to remind you of Allison Mack's directorial debut for Season 8’s “Power.” Of course, she is not the first of the show’s cast to don the director’s hat: Tom Welling has directed a handful of episodes, and Michael Rosenbaum directed Season 6’s “Freak.” Still, it is no easy task for an actor to direct a show or movie while starring in it herself, and it is a great sign of Allison's diversity in the entertainment industry.

While we're discussing Chloe at large, how do you feel about her marrying Jimmy Olsen? Was this a necessary step in her character arc? Obviously, no one wants Chloe to eternally pine away for Clark when he's destined to be with Lois, and Jimmy was originally referred to as "Chloe's first", but would any of you have been more interested in the continuation of the Chloe/Jimmy/Kara triangle?

Just some food for thought or better yet, food for comments. Let us know what you think and get ready for next week's new episode!

First of all,Just stop with the Chloe Dies scenario!
She is not going to die.The character and it's likeness got signed to DC comics..So yeaaaaaaa
And next..Allison Mack is the leading leading of Smallville..Yes i said it..
She is the leading leady next to Tom W.
Second in credit to TW..Not Lois Lane ala ED.. So we can tell where the hate comes from lol..
Allison Mack and TW are the highest paid on the show!!
And CW knows this..Who gave her the title..
Best Leading lady of CW!!
She is a huge fans draw and most popular on the show even more than Clark Kent!

CW needs a new player or offer a variety.I cannot watch any of their shows the player will not install on my computer.

Chloe is my favorite character of the show, and if she leaves, Clark will be alone... lois, ollie, jimmy don't have any credible conection with him.
AM & TW has best chemestry ever!! Their relationship is sooo deep, that sometimes I forget that it isn´t real.

If Chloe dies, Smallville will die to me.

NO CHLOE defff NO SMALLVILLE for me.

Well, in first place, i want to say that, despite the way you wrote about Chloe/Allison Mack, this page gives us, to the fans, the opportunity to let here our text, our dedication to the actress and Chloe character. Only for that, it's a good thing.

Proceeding: I want to start with your last sentence: A Jimmy/ Kara/ Chloe triangle???
For Starters, with that you only give us the idea that you don't follow Smallville entirely. Because we all know that Kara charater only participated in the seventh season.
So, her charater is not a Smallville regular any more. In the eighth season, Kara only showned as a guest star in only one episode.
Not to mention that the actress is now busy with other projects. So, he return to the show will be unlikely.
So, Kara/Jimmy/Chloe won't happen again. We can breathe in relief about that.

Now, concerning to the Jimmy/Chloe couple, I just want to say a simple thing: Jimmy sucks!!!
Jimmy never gave any contribution to the show and his character is the one with the worst story of smallville.
And join Chloe with Jimmy???!!! No comments!!!

Concerning to the possibility of Chloe death, here is what i think: If the Smallville producers "kill" Chloe, they are nothing more than showing us, to the fans, that they don't know what to do with Chloe anymore.
She is an original character. That's the mainly reason i watch the show. Chloe is not a copy of another tv show. She has her own story and in my opinion, is this fact that gives strenght to Smallville.
The generality of fans want to see new things, new story's, not old ones that we already know the end or based in another tv shows or movies already made with the same subject.
The real question here is: Are the smallville producers able to continue with Chloe story? If they "kill" Chloe, they are showing us that they have no more ideas for her? That would be sad to know and certainly would be a sign of weakness and a lack of creativity. Not good to Smallville.
Chloe is a good challenge because she is a good charater. Could be Chloe character or Chloe story so good that no one is able to respond and create her development???
The Smallville producers have to surprise us and for that, keep Chloe in the story could be a good thing and a good strategy for the show.
With Kristin Kreuk, John Glover and Michael Rosenbaum departure of the show, the only talented actress left behind was Allison Mack.
If Chloe/Allison also leaves Smallville, who stays behind? Lois (Erica Durance), Tom Welling ( Clark) and Aaron Ashmore ( Jimmy).
We don't need another copy. Between Teri Hatcher and Erica Durance and between Dean Cain and Tom Weeling i'm sorry, but everyone is able to see who are the better actors.
Not to mention that Dean Cain and Teri Hacther had loads of chemistry.

I already watched "Hex" Episode(8.17), more one Chloe centric, and watching Chloe as the watch tower was the highest point of the episode. My favourite scenes in almost all the episodes, are with Chloe/ Allison.

One thing the Smallville Producers have to consider and not only the Smallville producers, but all of them, is that what gives life to any show are: THE FANS. So simple as that.
All the producers have to consider that they are working for the fans and if our opinions, our values, our compliments, our judgements are not taken into consideration, the only ones who loose with that are the producers and the show itself.
And one think i know: Of all the Smallville cast, Allison Mack/Chloe is the acress who has the larger community of fans around the world; there are countless sites about her, in all the languages(american/english, french, brazilian, portuguese, among others), livejournals ( the world of livejournals about Allison it's remarkable).
The fans are the voice, the ears and the eyes of everything.
So, if Chloe dies, Smallville fans (a huge number of fans)) will stay speechless, deaf and blind.

Chloe death = Smallville death

To me, wil,be a huge shock if Chloe will be the one who dies. I mean, some fans appreciate that idea: Chloe death, so thar in their words "the relationship between Lois and Clark can finally go on" But i just want to say one thing: when, since Chloe found out about Clark secret (fourth/fifth season), we saw some clue about "Chlark"??? And like we already know, Lois and Clark is meant to be, because belongs to the superman story. So the question is: knowing that "Chlark", in a romance level will have no future, why the "Clois" fans are so preoccupied if Chloe stays for more one season? Lois & Clark will happen. We all know the superman story and with who he will end. LOL.
Besides, what the friendship between Chloe and Clark has to do with the romance between Lois & Clark???? What one think involves the other??? Chloe will always be Clark best friend, a beautiful friendship that deserves to have more developpment. So, the friendship concept is weaker than romance? In some cases, not. And in Chloe and Clark relationship we have that prove. But is only that. A beautiful friendship that deserves to be preserved. So, yes, Chloe, if she will be the one who dies, which sincerely i hope not, will be a great loss for the show. For me, Smallville will loose sense. If Chloe dies, something will be missed. For me Chloe, is one of the lights of the show. I will still watching smallville, but if Chloe dies, i will be watching only for curiosity, not for pleasure. Chloe is my fav characther of the show, represented by the talented and lovely Allison Mack, which i can say turned out to be my fav actress of the moment.
If Chloe dies, will be, for me, a bad decision, because Chloe also deserves to ave a history and a good ending. She always helped and supported Clark. She doesn't deserve death; She deserves much better. Besides, i read that Allison Mack had signed for another year. She and the rest of the cast (except Sam - Davies) are all in the next year. So why saying that she will be the one who will die? So this news are not true? I bet on Maryha's death. After all, she is a smallville vet and we all know that in the comic's, superman parents (both) are death. Besides, in episode "Legion", this same trio also told that Clark could optioned to hide Chloe s that she could be safe, so that she coud be protected. I truly prefer this option. Another thing: this eighth smallville season had also been very Chloe centric and episodes like 8.09 (Abyss), 8.10(Bride) and 8.11 (Legion) are three of the main episodes Chloe centric( by the way, three of my favs of this season) and three of the episodes
with higher ratings and with higher qualifications. So, if Chloe dies, this can be also resumed to a singular sentence = a huge mistake. Smallville had already lost characters lixe Lex Luther, Lana and Lionel Luther. If Chloe dies and if Lex could return in the ninth season, who stays behind? Lois & Clark and Jimmy, and possibly Lex. A series with this name had already been made!!! We don't need another copy. For that, we can all watch "The Adventures of Lois and Clark" with Teri Hacther and Dean Cain all over again. " sigh" NOT CHLOE, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE :(

I think that it is time to get rid of Chloe. Ever since this series began, she has been wrapping her life around the lives of guys she has been obssessed or in love with - namely Clark Kent and Davis Bloome. Meanwhile, she goes and marries a guy she is not really in love with - namely Jimmy Olesen.

Chloe is not a monster, but she has outstayed her welcome. And she did deserve to get chewed out by Jimmy.

DUH?!? allison mack for the 9th season is a no-brainer!

I agree with the many posters before me in saying this article does not do the actress, and the investment of time and love from the fans of this actress and this role, any favor. The chemistry between TW and AM has pulled this show through unimaginable twists and turns that, while frequently entertaining, sometimes are not so much.

Everyone is concerned about the continuity on the show, and the preservation of canon. I am a long time fan of the Chlois theory (and my version is that Lois Lane dies while doing something honorable and Chloe begins using the name as a "nom de plume" to continue writing for the Daily Planet). This in a parallel but inexact fashion echos the canon and gives fans the Chlark they deserve.

The rain on the parade here comes from episode "Legion" where, in the future, Chloe is unknown. I interpet this to say "we, TPTB, have decided this is the canon for this elseworld: Chloe is not known to be affiliated with Superman." To take it further, the most likely end for Chloe is to be sacrificed at the alter of Character Development as a catalyst for Clark to become Superman. This explains her character in the storyline, why we've needed to be invested in it all this time, and (if done right) brings the character an honorable end.

It also stabs every fan in the heart with a icicle.

I'm not going to rag on KK, ED, or anyone else because they've only done what they could with what they were given. I think it has been a VERY bad move to have Chloe give Clark too much insight (especially about his alter ego strategy - that should TOTALLY be his own thought process) and to agree with an earlier poster, 22 episodes of Chloe thinking for Clark is 22 too much.

In any case, AM is too talented to be reduced or marginalized on this show unless it is by her own request, by which she'd be investing time in projects that demonstrate her MYRIAD facets as an entertainer (acting, dancing, singing, choreography, and now directing).

Chloe better not die, or I am out of here, done watching Smallville, done I will you.

Chloe was made Clark's brain since S5 because PTB didn't know what to do with the character because until then Clark used his own brain to solve his problems. This undermined Clark's character.

Anyhow this season has shown us that Clark can use his brain so its time for Chloe to go.

For once you guys at CW ackowledge the opresence of Allison Mack.

What I read is digs about her deal with Lionel, the fact that she's not past of the comic books and the murder.

Dop you know that Chloe is also beloved by Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Lana? That she helped Clark and Kara escape the Phantom Zone this year? That she saved Clark so many times in the series6 That she sttod up to Lex and Lionel Luthor many times? No.
Quite disspointing. I would like to know what Allison Mack did to you at CW?

Chloe needs to die! I hate her character and SV will be better without her. This season, giving Mack 22 episodes? Horrible, horrible decision! I have never seen a season quite so BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no chloe.no chlark, no smallville for my!!!!!

Cloe needs to move away from Smallville with her husband Jimmy therefore no need to kill her off.
At the end of Season 8 Clark or a computer generated image of him should fly into the sky as Superman and end the series. Especially since the "8" symbol has been in Smallville since Season 1.

Chloe leaves I leve too, bye bye Kansas. She is the only character on this show that doesn't belog to the comics wich is awesome, there is no destiny in her story, taht why we love herm she isn't written in a comic book. Keep Chloe in season 9, and keep Davis too, Chlavis is the reason I only returned to see smallville. Long live Chlavis.

I was so excited to see an article on Allison Mack! Then I read the thing. Seriously, what the heck? This article is nothing but a big, sarcastic slap in the face to Allison and her fans. She is the glue that holds this show together. If she dies (which I don't think she will) I will no longer watch Smallville. That's right! Even with Tom Welling and all of his awesome beauty still gracing the screen, I won't watch.

Chloe is the true Lois Lane of Smallville. I'm not saying I want ED's Lois to die, they can do Chlois without having her die. I'm just saying that Chloe is and always has been the real Lois Lane. She is the leading lady of the show and has a huge fan following. If they kill Chloe off, Smallville will go down in ratings so fast, it'll make Dawn O's head spin.

Allison deserves much more respect than the producers, the writer of this article, and the CW network gives her.

So thanks, but no thanks for your biased article on Allison Mack.

I hope we get to see Allison Mack for all 22 episode in season 9. I don't see the point of having Lois in all the episodes as this might just force the writers hands and it will become Lois and Clark: New Adventures of Superman all over again.

Having Allison Mack in all 22 episode will prevent that from happening and be constant reminder that we are watching Smallville where Clark Kent turn into Superman not Lois & Clark. Beside, Allison is a joy to watch. She brings in a lot of emotional touch to her scenes and has that rare ability to make everyone looks good when they are sharing a scene with her.

Plus having Chloe also allows the writers not to feel bound by the Superman mythos. Having a non-mytho character will allow the show runners to continue excerise their creative freedom of putting their own stories of Clark Kent into Smallville. That is what I think many, many fans like about Smallville is that it stands out from the rest of the other Superman media by bucking the trend and telling their own story and the creation of Chloe Sullivan is a shining example of this.

So Chloe Sullivan for all 22/23 episodes and please a bit of Chloe and Clark romance won't hurt either.

Are you crazy Chloe can't die if she dies i will be done with this show she is the only reason why i am still watching smallville it will be boring to watch another lois and clark show i already watched that show

I appreciate the kind words about Allison. She is a superb talent. In regards the Chloe/Jimmy relationship, it did nothing but make both character’s look bad. Chloe had to constantly build up Jimmy’s ego appeared weak and passive while Jimmy was jealous, untrusting, a betrayer (sold her out to Lex) and a cheat.

I too have to echo disappointment in how you characterized Chloe. The brain vs brawn comment demeans both Chloe and Clark and very much over simplifies a balanced partnership and a layered relationship. I also think the notion that the show is transitioning into the established mythos is very off base. Smallville stopped being a prequel a long time ago. In other media, a Chloe Sullivan had not been around when Jonathan Kent died or when Lex found out Clark’s secret or when battling Bizarro, Zod, Brainiac, or Doomsday. Yet except for Jonathan Kent’s death all these things happen to the adult Clark. Even Jonathan dying is something that more recently happens when he’s already with Lois.

Time to stop trying to pretend Smallville must end on a cliché. The impending deaths should serve this story, not a mythos that was trampled by this show long ago. On Smallville, Chloe Sullivan is essential which is born out by her presence in every episode for the last 3 years and second billing in the credits. Smallville’s Lois is the most expendable character on the show and her death would provide the biggest wow with the least lost to the show

I think Chloe is the legacy of Smallville. She HAS to stay, and her story lines need to be rectified. She needs to come back to journalism, she needs to end her marriage with Jimmy (it just didn't work), and she needs to stay the good honorable person she has been along the history of this show. So, the bad/grey choices she has made in last season, need an explanation at her favor. And please! for the seasons to come, give her happiness and true good love in her life!!!!!

Chloe's leaves, I leave, I have better things to do then watch another Lois and Clark show.

Clark's is being quite good using his own brain for 70 years, and it's a SHAME that in Smallville his inteligence is being sacrifised in the altar of a unimportant and boring character like Chloe. Superman has no sidekick because he doesn't need one!

By your reasoning, I guess Jimmy Olson should have been "killed" off too, rather than added to the Superman mythology. Afterall, he wasn't orginally part of the mythos either.

Chloe Sullivan *is* the legacy of Smallville, so yeah, how smart to "kill her off" - Not.

Chloe's best moments:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JN3klTtAdY

Here's the real heroine of Smallville.

I was pleased to see coverage of AM on your site, but less thrilled about the content of this article. It seems to go out of its way to downplay Chloe's role on the show. And the talk about Chloe's death-- well, we see that EVERY season, don't we? And yet she's still here, and AM was recently bumped up to female lead in the credits.

Chloe is very important to Clark-- as someone else said, "Chloe Sullivan doesn't die!" pretty much says it all. She's also involved in all the major storylines. Like others, I don't see them killing off the character, not when they spent so much effort re-signing her, not when they just moved her to female lead in the credits, and not when she's so popular among fans. She's an important part of the Smallville mythos, and will, I am certain, remain so.

This article is disappointing in both tone & lack of respect shown for Smallville's "legacy" character: Chloe Sullivan. She's the show's real heroine & treated like garbage.

Allison Mack is also the CW's "best actress" yet gets no promotion, it's a disgrace.

Please don't try to give Chloe importance by calling her Clark's "brain". She's a product of poor writing. Superman never needed a 'sidekick' to act as his brain. Smallville glorified this character at the expense of Clark's character.

This year has pretty much established it firmly that Clark Kent doesn't need Chloe. The show is so much more awesome when Clark is not running to this hacker for help and doing things on his own. I watch this show for Clark Kent and for Superman, so please spare me the torture of watching the forced storylines of Chloe and her romance with Jimmy Olsen and "Doomsday". Please get rid of her and if you can't do that, please stop giving her limelight with useless and boring stories that have nothing to do with Superman. Thanks!

This season just proves that Clark can very well function without Chloe and it is positive for Clark. I think Chloe needs to go because until last year she was used to hand all the information Clark needed. But this season Clark is closer to the information himself (epi 1 thru 10) and yet in the recent episodes he had to go back to Chloe to ask for information because there was nothing else Chloe could do. SV always needs a triangle and when Lana was present she was the one who was involved in those and now its Chloe. And for next season we can very well have Lois/Clark/RBB triangle , the famous triangle for 2.

I hope to see a nice funeral after and if Chloe dies.

This article is so obviously prejudiced against Allison Mack and her wonderful character Chloe, it's disgusting.

First, it trots out the nonsense that because Chloe isn't known from the original DC comics, her character means nothing. That ignores the fact that every character in the Superman legend started somewhere, just like Perry White, Jimmy Olsen and Lana Lang. Chloe is no different and she has always been critical to the show's success.

It also ignores the fact that Allison Mack is already signed for season 9 and that without her, and her marvelous chemistry with co-star Tom Welling, the show would be a real drag.

Chloe has always been everything the real Lois from the comcis is; Chloe has been there from the beginning and should be there at the end. If there is a character who should be killed off it should be the appalling Not-Lois who is not involved in the real A plots and lends nothing to the show. I'm tired of seeing misleading trailers which pimp appalling characters and the no-talent actresses who portray them instead of Allison Mack who IS the real leading lady of the show and whose character is at the center of the action along with Clark.

If the CW actually paid attention to what fans and others in the Entertainlent industry think, they'd know that AM is not only the fan favorite but acknowledged as the girl who should be the real Lois of the show. Get with it! Even DC Comics is acknowledging that Smallville is an elseworld and the story can diverge form DC canon. So do the right thing! Make the story turn out right. You've wasted screen time on Not-Lois for far too long. This old comic fan wants to see the girl who does the work of Lois Lane be revealed as the real Lois of this show!

Don't kill off Chloe! Don't kill off the Chlavis! Chloe and Davis are the best thing that has happened to smallville. Chloe and Chlavis are my reason to wztch smallville, withouth them I'm done of watching this show.

I don't remember why I started to watch Smallville, could be because de handsomeness of Tom Welling, could be because I happen to love Heroes TV shows...
But I do Know why I kept watching... it was the relationship between Clark and Chloe. Their friendship, they helping eachother, and the love from Chloe to Clark, even tough at some point she assumed he woudn't love her back the same way, she stayed beside him, helping him and protecting his secret.

One of the things i liked the most of this show, is the way they show that a superhero hasn't to be alone, a superhero can be and need to be helped, and that there's normal people, who is willing to help this superhero, because he inspires them, and make them be better, and release the heroes inside them. And that's what I think of Chloe.

What I don't understand is people keep saying she's the one who's stopping Clark from becoming Superman. Okay, she doesn't exist on the mythos. But can't you people agree that on THIS show, she has been the person who most encouraged Clark to become the superhero that the world needs??? So, how is it then that she is stopping him from becoming exactly that???
And why is it that she needs to die for Clark to fulfill his destiny? That, to me, is nonsense, since, again, she's the one who has had more to do on Clark becoming a superhero (beside his parents and himself of course, but that is pretty much obvious).

Right now, I don't even care too much about the ship thing, I care about Chloe and her future. Like somebody said before, we already know the story of Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Co. But Chloe is the one character who has an unknown destiny, and i enjoy finding out about that every week.

Sam Witwer on an interview said that he felt Chloe's eyes were the eyes of the audience looking at the life of a superhero. So, for me, if the eyes of Chloe are gone, the audience are gone. At list, I'm gone.

I'd rather see Chloe and Clark get some pay off, Jimmy go off with Kara and Lois go back to the only man she ever had chemistry with - Oliver Queen.

Wow, it has been a good minute since I've been on here and this article is why. Really now, this article is ridiculous. Chloe "dying" at the end of season 3 as a top moment for her? Are you serious? The digs and your hate against her doesn't make her any less important in the series.

I'm only in it for Allison. She's brings her A game in each episode, even when TPTB continually try to kill her character. Chloe is the heroine of this series no matter how many lightswitches are flipped and anvils get dropped. Like Clark said in Legion "Chloe Sullivan DOESN'T die!" and I cannot wait for the finale to prove that. DC already stated that Smallville is an Elseworld and can do whatever it wants with the story.

Also, this marriage between Jimmy and Chloe will be done before the season finale. I cannot wait. I can't wait for Chloe to get back into reporting and the Daily Planet, where she belongs.

Chloe isn't going anywhere.

I'm disappointed that The CW Source thinks an article this poorly-written and clearly biased will please fans of Allison Mack's Chloe Sullivan character. It's full of snide digs at the character and obnoxious sarcasm. Chloe and Clark are the only reason to watch Smallville. Their relationship based on trust, respect and genuine fondness for the other is the best friendship since Mulder and Scully. Chloe is smart, driven, and intelligent and a great role model for the CW's coveted younger women demographic. Smallville needs a character like this and an actress like Allison Mack that can rise above inane storylines and bad continuity and it's sad that this article can't reflect that.

That said, the Chloe/Jimmy marriage was the worst storyline ever and I can't wait for it to end. Smallville is its own continuity, destiny aside, so I'm looking forward to the near future when Clark realizes that the girl of his dreams was masquerading as his best friend.

Thanks for the Chloe/Allison coverage...
The actress truly deserves it. I'll be happy to see her in the rest of the season 8 and in season 9 as well.

I think since AM talked to the NY Post (and former co-star KK mentioned as well in a separate interivew) that she's contracted for s9 it's obvious that Chloe will not die. Which is just as well, because she's one of the few actresses left on that show who can actually act. Nontheless thank you for the Chloe coverage. And word- always ALWAYS rooted for Chlark.

I use to comment on the CW source regularly, but I've stopped visiting because I no longer like the angle of your Smallville coverage. I question whether the person who writes the article knows the show or not.

Allison Mack is the leading lady of Smallville which is the top rated drama on the CW. She and TW are the only remaining original castmembers and I don't think you give her the respect and appreciation she deserves. Because of this, I don't visit here very often anymore and I know for a fact many other Chloe fans feel the same way. I didn't like this particular article either which is suppose to highlight Chloe's tremendous contributions to the series and doesn't nearly do justice to the complexity of her character or the talent of her portrayer.

I have to say I love to see something about Allison Mack and my favorite character Chloe Sullivan!!!!

Chloe is my favorite character in Smallville and one of my favorite characters in TV ever, and I have to say that I truly hope she is not one of the characters to die... I will say goodbye forever to Smallville, no matter how hot I think Tom and Justin to be.

Chloe is amazing, strong, the character that has every quality I have always admired in the fearless reporter that is Clark Kent love.

Please, please, do not make me say goodbye.

Be well and take care, Monica

I love Clark, but with the lightswitches and gaping plot holes that litter Smallville's storylines, Allison Mack is the bulk of why I watch anymore.

If Chloe gets killed, I can finally watch all my other Thursday night faves in real time and re-join the CW when Supernatural is on.

Oh, and Jimmy Olsen? Please. The boy doesn't belong in a triangle with anyone but Lois. Those two have better chemistry than the couple that got married.

HATE THE CHLOE/JIMMY MARRIAGE ARC!!!!

Also, Chloe simply cannot die. They need to do the Chlois Theory (where Chloe takes on Lois Lane's identity) by divorcing Chloe from Jimmy and explaining that the reason Chloe's not part of Clark's future is because she's living as Lois, not Chloe. Like the poll said, Chloe forever! I really cannot imagine this show without Chloe. She needs to stay on. You simply CAN'T kill Chloe. And for heaven's sake, get Jimmy Olsen out of her life. Annul the marriage and erase it from Smallville's independent mythology. Shake the Superman story up by doing something original: Chlois Theory (which is the theory that Chloe is the real Lois Lane of this story).

Hmm, how many times have I heard the whole WILL CHLOE DIE question? Too many to care. She's died (and "died") several times before and AM is signed up for another season. If they really wanted to kill her after one season they could have either not asked her to come back at all or just signed her for 1 year.

You'd think that as a blogger one would try to be a bit more respectful towards the character and/or actress. Best Chloe moment - her safe house getting exploded by Lionel? Low.

Well, I see the CW source has already written off Allison and Chloe despite her having a contract for next season. Forgot about that didn't you? Chloe is the glue of the series, and more than your crude "brainz behind the brawn" comment, she's Clark's partner, his choice over anyone else to work and investigate with. Forgot that part too in your hurry to get her the out the door, I see.

Jimmy was an extreme waste of space on this show, never more so than in his relationship with Chloe. Unfortunately, it's solidifed how terrible a character he is, especially in his disgusting treatment of Chloe and their relationship. But way to whitewash all that away because he's an ICONIC character.

Oh, and BTW, the DC & the comics continuity that you're clinging too so badly up there in the just yesterday labelled SV an Elseworld, a show that is creating it's own mythology, without having to cling or follow the comics. Forgot to mention that too, didn't you? Yeah, thanks for the biased, awful Chloe coverage. You've shown you have nothing but contempt for Allison and her contribution to the show.

I think the show is finally going to Chlois, and we will be spared another season of the travesty that is Erica Durance's "Lois Lane" and her "acting skills".

It's about time. The show needs a new, better direction, one in which it isn't hampered and brought down by her presence.

Considering TPTB with out of there way to sign AM back for S8 but also for a S9 tells me that Chloe is here to stay.

And let's remember Clark Kent has said in no other specific terms that "Chloe Sullivan doens't die".

I think that says it all for the future of CS.

Thanks for the article. Chloe is my favorite Smallville character since the very beginning of the show and to me she is the spirit of the real Lois Lane in Smallville! Now if they kill her, I'll finaly be free from this show and except for Supernatural, I'll also be free from CW who seems to only want to appeal to teenage girls now...

Not looking good for Chloe at the end of this season :( I think AM has done a great job with the beefy story-lines she's been given this year and I bet she's had a lot of fun with them but I really hope they let Chloe go out on a high note. She's been a huge part of Clark's life but this relationship with Davis/Doomsday can hardly do anything but drive a wedge between them and end badly. It's DOOMSDAY for cryin out loud!!! Seems she really has placed her trust in the wrong person...

As much as I love Chloe, I do think it's time for the show to move on and get closer to the Superman endgame, so if they really ARE gonna kill her off then I hope it's the kind of ending that will have us all weeping in the aisles. Then in the new season Clark will have to deal with the aftermath of losing his best friend and Lois will have the heartbreak of losing the cousin she loves and the show can build on that with ERICA DURANCE IN 22 EPISODES and the showrunners focussing on CLARK more than they have this year. Speaking of which, any chance we could have a few articles on CLARK KENT here? You know - the guy the show is ABOUT???

I just hope the show isn't DUMB ENOUGH to go the RIDICULOUS Chlois direction. It's insulting to Chloe, it's insulting to Lois, it makes a mockery of Superman lore and the romance the show has built up between Clark and the real Lois this year and it just plain doesn't make SENSE. I pray Hex will lay it to rest once and for all so the theorists can pick another show to look for hidden clues in...

Please don't kill Chloe off! She is my fav character and even though she wasn't in the comics, Chlark still deserved a chance since Lois started early.

You finally mention Chloe and all you can do is take digs at her? As if Allison/Chloe fans aren't crapped on enough.

Don't worry, spoilers indicate that Chloe is being killed off, so you won't have to deal with the Allison/Chloe fans any longer.

Thanks for the Chloe coverage!

OMG! I really hope they don't kill Chloe. She's my second favorite character on the show. I was ALWAYS rooting for CHLARK.

Chloe/Jimmy/Kara triangle?? I hope not.
