One Tree Hill: So Long Sammy

Peyton's making a video time capsule for her unborn baby on One Tree Hill...just in case. It'll go nicely with the sad box of stuff she's compiled. She tells the unfortunate possible semi-orphan-to-be about her ultimate play list -- 100 Songs to Save Your Life -- about how to pick a best friend, and about how to get a "mom and dad fix" by hanging with Nathan and Haley. Nice and really, really sweet, but a total buzz kill.

Peyton also asks the poor kid to take very special care of its father. But Lucas walks in and catches the depressing prenatal scene and he isn't having any of it. He doesn't want to do anything "just in case," and that includes rushing to get hitched.

Lucas confiscates Peyton's box of bummers and it's not long before young Jamie gets into it -- prompting a little walk down memory lane for the both of them. After they've finished looking through it all, the boy tells his uncle, "Your whole life is in that box. I wish I had one." Out of the mouths of babes, right?

Meanwhile, Brooke is lurking outside the coffee shop, watching Sam and her birth mother bond. She's low about the whole situation but Victoria is being pro-active. She's checked the woman’s credit score and is building a case against her, just in case it comes down to ugliness.

Victoria's good at getting ugly.

But she does know a thing or two. She tells Brooke to let Sam spend more time getting to know her mother. Brooke takes that the wrong way and thinks Victoria is trying to sabotage her relationship with Sam. In a seemingly strange act of desperation, Brooke tells Sam that she wants to make it official and adopt her, which kind of freaks the kid out. Talk about bad timing! However, Brooke wises up quickly and ends up telling Sam that she should go spend some time with her mom -- it's what the kid wants anyway. She just doesn't want to hurt Brooke's feelings. Brooke tells her that she loves her no matter what...and she can always come back. Sam splits (who knew a coffee shop salary could buy such a nice home -- picket fence and all!) and Brooke's heart is broken...again.

Skills' third date with Jamie's hot teacher comes complete with a third wheel -- Chuck...and his creepy ventriloquist's dummy. Okay -- make that a fourth wheel. Poor Antwon. He just can't win. The topper for the evening is when Skills goes in for a smooch and the little lactose-intolerant fella boots chocolate ice cream all over the man's shoe. But the guy earns plenty of Brownie pionts and the night does end well when Lauren arrives at Skills' front door long after the date is over and tells him that he forgot to kiss her goodnight.

Over in Charlotte, a scout from the Clippers is in the house to check out Nathan and his new best buddy after the team's multi-game winning streak. Don't the Clippers always stink? But the NBA is the NBA, so it's time to step it up. Nathan spends the entire game being the assist guy instead of the scoring guy. But after the game the coach tells Nathan that he did a great job and now he just has to wait for the phone to ring. The agony!

Meanwhile, Peyton’s baby shower is a little bit of a bummer, what with her possible demise and Brooke all brooding about Sam. At the end of the evening Lucas comes back into the house declaring that there is one thing missing from the time capsule -- their wedding photo. Looks like we'll finally be getting that wedding episode we've been waiting for. We're just hoping that everyone survives it.

So much sadness but also the possibility of some really good stuff for the future. What did you think of the episode? Did you find yourself totally craving coffee from Dunkin' Donuts after watching? Tell us!

My taste in music is really similar to Peyton's, so after she mentioned the "100 Songs to Save Your Life" playlist, I was expecting the CW to put the list of songs on the web. Does anyone know where I can find the playlist, if there are actual songs on there at all?

To Nicole: Perhaps the problem lies within your internet speed/connection? I catch up on episodes of OTH on my laptop with wireless internet and even my ipod touch and have never run into such problems.

I wish you luck!

I liked this episode even though it had some sad stuff in it. I cried a little when Peyton was making the video time capsule and when Jamie was so sweet as to tell his Uncle Lucas that everything was going to be okay. I can't imagine how much I'm gonna cry when they get married. I expected Jamie and Luke to talk about the picture of Ellie and baby Peyton. I can see Lucas and Peyton making a box for Jamie with his life in it (old pictures and new drawings from Peyton).

The CW website sucks. I have missed the last two or three episodes of One Tree Hill and have been trying to watch them online and it seems the full episodes are only available on the CW's website.

That would be totally fine if it didn't play all choppy. It took me about 2 and 1/2 hours to watch one friggin' episode. That is very annoying and my schedule doesn't really allow for me to watch One Tree Hill when it airs on TV. It would be great if the full episodes were available elsewhere online.

I'm about to stop watching the show altogether if I'm not able to get caught up.

Recaps that are written online are fine but I would still like to watch the show and find out what happened for myself. I'm glad that I found this website thought, because I least I can get updates, even if they are only in text form.

* i meant screen time

isnt oth promoting kate voegele's music a lil too much ?? she takes a lot of screaning time just with her singing! i wanna see more of the main cast!

I did want some coffee, and I was surprised; I would've pegged Victoria for a Starbucks kind of gal (oh, well, recessionista). I think this was the episode we've been waiting for. It set up a lot of storylines for a great finale next week, and will keep me watching next year (if there is a next year). Peyton was so touching, Skills and Lauren were adorable (eat your heart out, Mouth and Millie), and Brooke is an amazing mother and I hope she gets everything she dreams of.
