Gossip Girl Bracket: Blackmail Division

It was a tough fight in the Gossip Girl Big Bad Bracket: Sex & Lies Division. So many close matchups! Stepdad Wallace Shawn was the only one with a double-digit lead, as he wiped the floor with Marcus the Phony -- as well he should! But the rest of the fights were really close -- Adoption Cliffhangers edged out Dark-Side Vanessa, while Student-Teacher Relations fell to Lies About the Past. But the closest match was between the Nate-Dan Bromance and Catfights. Catfights scratched out an early lead, but the Bromance came back strong, and took the victory in the end. Congratulations to the winners!

Now we're up for the Blackmail Division, and we expect plenty or hard-fought battles here, too. Will Accelerated-Learning Schemes take out Muckraker Dan? Can Self-Destructive Tailspins defeat Private Eyes? And how will our underdogs -- Parents Turning Kinds Into Cops and Dossiers -- do against the powerhouses that are Dorota and Born-Again Georgina?

Your votes decide! Polls are open until August 4, so get voting!
Accelerated-learning schemes
Despite their tendency to backfire, the schemes of the Gossip Girl brat pack were nothing short of impressive. Impossibly complicated and ruthlessly executed – CIA double-agents should take tips from these kids.

Muckraker Dan

Since when does New York magazine hire whiny teenagers? Despite his non-existent resume, the publication threw Dan Humphrey into the trenches at Bass Industries in order to dig up some dirt. Come on, folks, he’s not exactly Bob Woodward.
Dorota
Often only seen as a player on the sidelines, Blair’s maid/nanny was instrumental to many of Blair’s intricate schemes. She even got a spot in the limelight in her own online spin-off!

Parents turning kids in to the cops
Were the Gossip Girl kids so out of control that even their parents couldn’t get a grip? Apparently so, since both Lily and Rufus called in The Fuzz to do their dirty work.
Born-again Georgina
This little phoenix’s rise from the ashes happened on both sides of the good/evil fence. Georgina didn’t seem to be concerned with what Jesus would do by the end of the season, a promising sign of wicked deeds in episodes to come.

Dossiers
Folks in Gossip Girl seemed to have more incendiary files than the Pentagon. While Bart was amassing information to “protect” his family, Chuck was out racking up photographs of Yale’s elite in compromising positions.
Self-destructive tailspins
Chuck at the bottom of a bottle and Blair mouthing off to everyone at the Vanderbilt estate provided plenty of dramatic rollercoaster action throughout the season. Though why self-destruct when plenty of high society denizens were out to get you anyway?

Private eyes
Information-gathering was almost a theme this season, with the grand kick-off being when Chuck called his P.I. on speed-dial. With the huge pile of personal dirt that came to light, these private eyes were more effective than Big Brother.
