SMALLVILLE Big Bad Bracket: Joy and Pain Division

We're back with the final matchups in the first round of the Smallville Big Bad Bracket. Before we get to the action, let' take a look at what went down in the Poing! Division. We had a series of close matches -- Jimmy's (?) Death edged out Lex's Death (?), while Lies! were no match for Memory Wipes. Shapeshifters put up a valiant fight, but they went down in the face of Lie Detector Confessions. The closest match came between Black Kryptonite and Liquid Green Kryptonite. The two alien minerals traded the lead throughout the competition, but in the end, Black Kryptonite emerged victorious. Congrats to the winners, and we'll see you in the next round!

Now it's time to see how a new batch of competitors does. Will Jimmy & Chloe's Wedding sink The Fortress of Solitude? Can the Legion Ring take out the Prometheus Power Suit? Which is more devastating: The Phantom Zone or Clark's Loss of Powers? And which super society kicks more butt -- The Justice League or The Legion? Your votes decide! Polls are open until August 6, so get voting!

Justice League
This group of modern-day heroes -- led by Green Arrow and counting heroes Black Canary, Impulse, Aquaman and Cyborg as members -- can get a little frustrated with Clark, but they've got his back. They’ve also got sonic screams, robotic powers, superspeed and fish-finding abilities at their beck and call.

The Legion
This group of superheroes from the future -- Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad -- follows and respects Clark for his Kryptonian super powers and his future role in saving Earth. Plus, they've got telepathy, electrical shockwaves and magnetic powers in their arsenal.
Jimmy and Chloe's Wedding
Yes, that's right. Jimmy and Chloe got married for all of three or four episodes. It was a lovely wedding, until he got pwned by Doomsday and she got mixed up with Davis. The next thing you know, ol' Jimmy is telling her their marriage was the worst mistake of his life (or of the season's storyline).

The Fortress of Solitude
The Fortress of Solitude holds unknown powers and is the place Superman (or Clark Kent, rather) goes to when he needs to be...in solitude. It sank into the arctic sea at the end of season 7, but it was too powerful -- and too essential -- to stay waterlogged for long.
Legion Ring
On two different occasions, the Legion brings a ring back to Clark that allows him to time-travel. The first one sets everything back to even after Linda Lake tries to make a mess of Clark’s identity. The second sends Lois...somewhere. Or somewhen?

Prometheus power suit
Lana finally gets her power-hungry wish fulfilled when she snags Lex's Prometheus-project power suit, but there’s a mild side-effect: she now absorbs kryptonite like a sponge in water. Kudos for the super powers, bummer for her relationship with Clark.
The Phantom Zone
The Phantom Zone! A hellish place for the worst, most vile dregs of Kryptonian society. It was bad enough that Kara had to escape and Clark wanted to banish Doomsday there. Strangely, it looked a lot like west Texas. Coincidence?

Clark's loss of powers
Growing up with super powers is tough -- especially when you keep losing them. At several points throughout Season 8's journey, Clark completely loses his Kryptonian cool and becomes simply human. How the mighty fall...temporarily.
