Supernatural Shocks and Surprises at Comic-Con

Is it a sign of the apocalypse when Kripke seems to be giving straight answers? Should we worry that after today's Comic Con session on Supernatural, we're really, really looking forward to Armageddon? And why did they try to give us a heart attack in the first five minutes? Damn you, Kripke -- and please, keep talking, because we love it all!

Alas, the boys couldn't make it to the Comic Con panel -- they were working, of course, but "they're sending their love," Kripke promised. And then, because he's, well, Kripke, he twisted the knife: "They're shirtless, and they're sending their love." Hah! Fortunately, Kripke, producers Sera Gamble and Ben Edlund, and Jim Beaver (Bobby) and Misha Collins (Castiel) manage to hold their own in front of the devoted crowd.

But since this was a Kripke production, the first thing they had to do was make us panic. So the five-minute clip shown to fans featured (spoiler alert!) the prophet Chuck, who said that the Archangel had smote the hell out of Castiel. Cas exploded -- and Chuck was picking angelic molars out of his hair as a result. What? Castiel is DEAD? But... but... Ahh!!!

There's more after the break, including details of upcoming plots, mild spoilers, and lots of awesomeness. Don't click if you don't want to know!

After inciting panic, Kripke made things worse, quipping, "There will be a new angel played by James van der Beek." He let that sink in, then, "No, Castiel's coming back, don't worry!" Whew! Plus, he'll still be in the Constantine-inspired trenchcoat -- although we were intrigued by Kripke's suggestion that they bring him back in a leather catsuit. Hmmm!

SEASON6 is an amaaaazing idea. if anyone can pull it off its kripke<3

The hunters are gathering. That make sense, and sound epic! I'm ridiculously happy to hear that we will see Jo and Ellen again.

That tiny spoiler concerning Bobby pick up my interest. I wonder what's up with him.

Pellegrino seems a very good casting choice. I love the idea of a likable lucifer. Vilain are always better when they are in shade of gray.

The best spoiler :Dean taking the stoic, otherworldy Castiel to a worehouse.
That will be hilarious :-D

Speaking of our trenchcoat claded angel. If he was really killed how will he come back? The angels, to convince dean to work with them ? Anna the angelic wild card? Dean and Sam through a spell? God who has not really left the building? Lucifer because he can?

spn get better and better!
counting the day to september

Excited for most of it, esp. Ellen and Rufus. Not so much with Jo because I found her horribly annoying. Though I suppose she'll be better than Ruby as long as she's not in it too much and they keep Dean thinking of her like a sister (so to speak) instead of doing some lame love interest thing.

Can't say I'd be that excited in a S6 mainly because I think most shows are best for 5 seasons at most then tend to go downhill. I'd be nervous about where they could really go with the boys after that. I'm always going to prefer the show as being about the boys and their relationship with each other. If this season is about them getting back their closeness, I'd really rather not see a Season 6 where they can't think of what else to do with said relationship and instead waste it on them developing romantic junk or something lame like that. Start it and end it with just the 2 boys together against the world and I'm good.

HOLY COW!!! Jo and Ellen ARE FINALLY RETURNING!
I wonder if Dean would still be attracted to Jo???
NAHHH!

Thanks for all these news! Season 5 sounds great.

Thank you for keeping us unfortunate ones who missed the con updated! I'm very excited for season 5....not too happy Jo is coming back, but truly thrilled that Ellen is! Kripke better give us more seasons after this. The ratings have been amazing!

I have no other words besides the fact that I simply CANNOT wait until September. This season is gonna kick so much ass.

Of course we want more seasons, more boys, more of the show we love. Tell Erik that as well as for myself speaking at least I would be very happy if he indeed repaired the boys relationshop. I cannot stand another season of Dean and Sammy fighting.
Thank you

OMG Jo is finally returning!!!yesssh!. . . . actually can't wait for this season as always it sounds better than the last ones!!!:D
