Melrose Place: Fifty Ways To Blackmail Your Neighbor
It's just so easy to catch the residents of Melrose Place doing something illegal, immoral or freaky.
So this week, as we enjoy what we hope will just be the season one finale, even we are surprised at how un-neighborly these neighbors are to each another.
Ella turns the tables on Amanda
Ella gets canned from WPK but as she's in the apartment, crying about it to Riley, she spots a Sydney Andrews original, propped up against a bookshelf. Ella may be unemployed but she's no fool. She begs Riley for the painting, gets home and discovers the bazillion-dollar stolen painting underneath.
So after a little finagling, Amanda agrees to remove Ella's name from the WPK mess, help her start her own firm, Ella Simms & Associates (we have no idea who these associates are going to be) in Beverly Hills, and she even allows her to take her most buzz-worthy clients with her. Does that sound like it was too easy? It was.
The memories get to Jonah and Riley
Jonah and Riley attend the NYU alumni mixer together under the pretense of trying to be "green" and carpooling.Their ex-college buddies are inspired by their relationship but totally lose it when they tell them that they are not the happy couple they used to be.
After the party the two wax poetic. They kiss and Jonah asks Riley to go back to before the madness of the proposal. Sweet, right? But she denies him, telling him that things have changed. Naturally, Jonah feels the need to tell Ella everything. She told him that she refused to be a rebound gal and she immediately breaks up with him. But hey, at least she now knows that monogamy isn't the end of the world.
Doctor Drew hits a nerve
Doctor Drew has the audacity to confront Mancini with the findings of his late night cadaver tinkering. Drew tells Mancini that 16 people have died because of his beloved valve. Surprisingly, Mancini acquiesces, decides to call off the surgery and asks to see Doctor Drew's research findings. Sounds too easy. Right?
Coincidentally, later that day security asks to see the inside of Drew's locker and surprise! They find a giant bottle of Oxycontin. This has the stink of Mancini all over it. Later, while she's supposed to be assisting in a surgery with Mancini, Lauren exposes the truth to the other surgeons in the operating room, saving the patient's life. Either Lauren is done at the hospital or Dr. Mancini's career is over.
The capper is that Doctor Drew was born with a congenital heart defect and they saved his life with a valve—Mancini's valve. He has no idea how long he has to live.
David finally meets dear old dad
In the continuing storyline that we simply can't seem to understand, Morgan insists on bribing David to be her boyfriend. She even introduces him to her father—a very important man who threatens David and tells him how very unhappy he'll be if David hurts his little girl. The very next night, David and Lauren have an epiphany at his new club and he declares his love for her. Unfortunately, Morgan is watching and you can be sure daddy will hear all about it.
More blackmail is handed down when Morgan's dad comes to Coal to tell David that he doesn’t appreciate how he stole from him (the daughter spilled her guts but has apparently been forgotten by now) but since David was able to override his complicated security system, he wants him to start stealing for him now. And he won't take no for an answer.
Amanda turns the tables on Ella
When Ella arrives at WPK to get the keys to her new place, Amanda tells her that she's decided not to go through with the plan. Apparently there was some small print in the contract that allows her to do such a thing. But Ella's one smart cookie. She read that small print AND managed to get photos of Amanda with the stolen painting AND contact the FBI about it all. Wow, that's a lot of tables turning. Amanda's taken out of her own office in handcuffs—but she's used to that.
Where will they go with these story lines if the show comes back for a second season? Will Doctor Drew be knocking on death's door? Will Amanda bust out of jail to get some seriously nasty revenge on her new nemesis, Ella? Will David be pulled back into a life of crime just as his life appears to be coming together? Tell us what you think should happen in the comments!

I loved the season finale, I just hated that Jonah totally broke Ella's heart. They were so perfect together. Also I have how everyone is saying that there will be no season two. SHUT UP, PEOPLE. There will defiantly be season 2!!!!!

I just finally watched the episode! I've been putting it off because I know its probably the last one ever but I couldnt wait any longer!
First off: Ella is freakin amazing. Katie Cassidy rocks it and I'll be sad not to see her every week.
Second: Drew having Mancini's valve was a GREAT twist.
Third: The stuff with David needs to end. Can the Dad die in a car crash or something? I just want him and Lauren to be happy. I did laugh though when Lauren said in the beginning of the ep that it was weird for her to be just his friend....um honey you were together for like an episode it isnt that big of a transition.
Fourth: Jonah was such a nice guy in the beginning of the season....totally hating him now. Glad Riley rejected him and soo glad Ella dumped him!
Fifth: If by some miracle its picked up for a 2nd season I would love to see how this Amanda stuff plays out!

I think there should be a twist. The whole david thing is ridiculous.I think more of the amanda, elle, jonah, riley. Let Lauren and David be happy for a couple of episode before something explode because they just got together. Typical rich girl getting what she wants and having daddy helping her.
