Supernatural: The end of the season, the beginning of the discussion

The boys look as confused as we feel

OK, we've started and tossed this Supernatural season-finale post about five times, and we still don't know what we want to say. We're all confused and conflicted. So we'll keep our yapping to minimum and throw it open to you. Tell us what you think!

The plot
The basics: Dean acknowledges Sam is an adult, Sam takes on Lucifer and loses, Dean confronts LuciSam on the field of battle, the sight of the Metallicar brings Sam back to himself, Sam nobly sacrifices himself by throwing his Lucifer-possed body into the trap (and takes Michael with him), and Dean finally gets the apple-pie life he's always secretly desired. Except, last second, we see that Sam isn't in the pit -- he's outside Dean's house, watching the apple-pieness.

More questions below -- click on!

The sacrifice
Sam consigns himself to an eternity of torment to save humanity

Dean's reward
Dean has spent his life on the road protecting Sam, and Sam makes him promise to find Lisa and have a normal life.

The question of Chuck
Chuck continues to tell the boys' story, writes a hymn to the Metallicar, tells us that endings are hard, then tells us that endings aren't endings and snaps himself out of the frame.

Sam returns
Sam was willing to go into the pit forever, but somehow he got a reprieve -- or at least something Sam-shaped was watching Dean. What gives?

The message
Presumably these five seasons have a self-contained arc and message. What is it?

Next season
Our huge remaining question -- what the hell are they going to do next season?

Was it always all leading to this?
Kripke said he had a five-year plan. That makes sense. The seasons built and built and built, the stakes kept being raised, and finally we got to the big showdown, Michael vs. Lucifer, the Apocalypse. Did Kripke always plan to end with Sam sacrificing himself to pay for his actions? Was the whole series really building up to Dean having an apple-pie life? And was Kripke always planning on bringing Sam back, or was that spackled on to let next season happen? What do you think? We're not even going to put up a poll here -- just tell us all in the comments!

I loooovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeee this show i have been watching it since the day it came out on 9/13/05!!!!! i was only 6 at the time and im still a true and aloyal fan! Will never forget this show even in my 60s!!!! GO SUPERNATURAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely fell in love with this show and after watching last night's episode, I am heartbroken. I started crying which I'm sure most people watching the show did. I want to see what will happen next. I love you Jensen, but Dean can't just stay at home with a family, he's got to fight for Sam, so hopefully you and Jared come back for another season and let us know how it truly works out. Don't forget Cas & Bobby! I love you all!

I only have one question: When does Supernatural Season 7 start????????????

okay the arc storyline wasn't introduced to supernatural until a few seasons into the story, during the first few season it was just about sam and dean being in the family business of hunting down demons and monsters while having a bit of humor added in each episode! kay i loved the finale but have some questions that may or not be answered next season either way i will definitly be tuning in!!!

I am not sure if the returning Sam is Lucifer, but it definately is a changed Sam. The flickering lights usually indicates a demon. If God did return, then he probably would've let Michael out. Maybe to do this he had to let Lucifer out too, or he somehow saved Sam. When Dean was saved by Castiel out of Hell, he did not cause electrical disturbances, this new Sam does. Also, why wouldn't Sam just go to Dean, why watch him from through the window? I don't know, but I definately will be watching!!

I read all of the comments posted so far and boy are you guys passionate about this show. But how can you not be? This show has rocked from Day 1! There are so many things to address and I know I won't be able to get everything so I'll just say this, the finale freaked me and the wife out! We went into this not knowing whether this was a season or series finale. Cas getting blown up after his "Assbutt" comment (if I had been able to breathe or blink at that point, then I would've been LMAO!) and Bobbie getting his neck all in a twist! Sam jumping into the pit to save the world!! It was a series finale for me! Chuck wrapping things up with his little narrations throughout definitely left us with the feeling that Chuck is God. One comment I read was about whether or not Chuck actually was God since Dean's amulet didn't burn in His presence which can be explained like this. How many spells and artifacts have we seen that allows the boys to stay hidden? Chuck/God just had another one. An Ace in the hole so to speak.

As to the point of the show, Love conquers all. God has always been there putting the boys, the world, and the hosts of Heaven and Hell themselves thru a test. A test of love and after this finale, I'd have to say that where the mighty Micheal and Lucifer failed, Sam and Dean did not. I liked the comment "Where there is love, God is also." So for the future it only seems fitting that Dean comes to grips w/ his daddy issues and he and Dean are reunited w/ their father, God, as Cas seems to have been. Of course this could possibily mean that in the end, Dean and Sam die in order to be victorious. God would have to reward them by reuniting the boys w/ their parents and friends in Heaven.

As to where the show is heading. Dean is living his apple-pie life with Lisa. (Get off her back, she's not all that bad although I agree she can be a temporary distraction at best.) There is zero chance of Dean being at peace w/ this life because he himself has been in Hell and realizes what his brother has signed up for and he loves his brother to much to allow him to remain there. A possible future is that the Sam we saw outside of Dean's at the end is in fact LuciSam. Lucisam is content not to interfer w/ Dean's new life because he also knows that Dean really is very miserable there and enjoys seeing Dean torment himself as a kind of passive revenge. At some point, Dean would realize that Lucisam is back and reunites w/ Cas and Bobbie and set out to save Sam from Lucifer. Lucifer knew about the rings and pre-arranged a way to stay out of the box. (Micheal may also find a way out by following Lucifer's trail allowing for the step brother to be reunited w/ his dad as well.) So this means that the writers will need to find another way to deal with Lucifer. "There's always more than one way to skin a cat" applies here. There are just so many ways to take this. It could be that God saves Sam like he did Dean but Sam is preved that Dean didn't even try to come after him although Dean was honoring his final promise to Sam. So season 6 could be about Sam vs Dean to end in love conquering this also in the end. I'd like to have Bobbie there but Chuck has stated that Dean and Bobbie wouldn't see each other for a long time. The out here is, "what's a long time?"

And as always, what I take with me from the finale is Dean's "I don't give a crap" attitude as he strolls right up between Micheal and Lucifer during the show down that wasn't. Dean is such a bad ass! I love it!

Anyway whatever happens, Kripke has done an outstanding job as has the cast! I applaud your efforts and hope to see more. Maybe even a season 7? CW, you listening?! The fans are speaking right now! You better be listening.

Quite simply, the story isn't over until Dean as Michael fights Lucifer/Sam. It is Michael's Destiny to fight Lucifer/Sam as Dean not Adam. Dean is the chosen vessel and this is the only way the story can end. I did find it ironic that Sam fought so hard against Dean saying yes to Michael and the end he said yes to Lucifer. But Dean knew that would happen. He said that Sam was self-righteous and angry but that is how Sam has always been. I think Sam knew he would say yes also and he also knew that he would not win in that fight with Dean.

Dean deserves a "Happy" Life but he will not have one because the story and his destiny have not been fulfilled.

I missed the first season, and had to catch up. I think it's a Fantastic show. After I started watching it,my father, who is a pastor of a church got hooked. He don't care to much about the swaring. But is crazy about the show. Can't wait for the next season. I'm glad the CW renewed it. If They Did Not I'm sure TNT would have took it. MDM

i really liked this ep. it was such a great season finale.

i loved the montage and voice overs by chuck. i liked the ending and totally had a tissue box during the scene with lucisam bashing deans face and dean telling him, he wouldnt leave him.

sam taking control and telling dean it would all be ok... awwww!

anyhoo MOST IMPORTANTLY is the the Great Bobby can walk again, WOOT!

i dont like the girl that dean keep going back too, so random, who is she again, didnt we see her like, once?

i season was a bit floppy in terms of the sloooowness of moving the arc. a few stand out eps, a few randomssss.

i though it was definatly lighter on the difficulty of the situation, but the last few eps seems like they were really struggling with the impossibility of the situation.

it was definatly a great story told. i trust in the Kripke. so next season should be rad!

ps - OTH pods please!! OR HOW ABOUT SOMETHING ABOUT SMALLVILLE - its freaking going into its 10th year, doesnt it deserve a little love from the cw source?! xx

Love this show so much. After so many great years The season finaly simply took my breath away. Best sound track, such divers caracters, Love it!! Keep it comeing Kripke were not done yet!!!!

Gosh! A TON of conflicted feelings toward this finale! It felt SO different from previous ones, but I don't know .. I SO did love it! I was in tears for at least half the epi.
And the whole thing that the impala saved the day pretty much did it for me .. I mean .. we always knew the car was more than just a car ''the most important object in pretty much the whole universe''haha! That's a line, Chuck gotta be God which I found .. Idk; the guy's always been funny to me so I can't complain if he's God! lol ... Though, at the beginning of the season, when Cas took Dean's amulet he said that the thingy burned in God's presence or something like that and that I know, it never did something when Dean was around Chuck so .. Eeeh! Dunno!

Anyways .. THE BOYS! They are AWESOME!. Period! lol
I SO don't think that one in the end was Sam-Sam. For start I can't wrap my mind around Dean doing nothing for his brother, though he promised, I know he did, but come on?? it's Sam & Dean!!! ... That apple-pie life; Won't last. That Sam: NO Sammy! ... I think, I don't know, I have the feeling the show's not gonna end good, whenever that happens.
I really think that even though family is the most important thing Sam&Dean won't make it ... Eeh, don't know, just what I think.
Hmm .. Their love save the world anyway so I'd say that's pretty much the most AWESOME relations, friendship, looooove-everything I've seen in TV land! I just gotta LOVE that show!

Didn't like Michael/Lucifer face to face. I mean ..nahh! It was THE devil and THE angel and .. ehh, they were just talking so I don't know, I got the feeling of, 'God! They build up the whole season, series actually, for those two not to face each other and when they do it was just like 2 brothers arguing, and not even pissed LOL
so ... yeah, IMO that could have been better.

Anyway the boys made that up, I mean .. when Sammy-a-like was beating the crap out of the Dean and he kept saying he wasn't gonna leave and then Sammy taking control (the flashbacks to the car, them kiddies, and memories from all season was quite a tear-jerker for me .. they summed up the whole series, the love between them in those seconds, it was REALLY good I'd say.
So overall I DID love it!! I now can't wait to next season to see what happens. I have the feeling it's not gonna be the same at all .. but hopefully I will keep loving it hehe!

Oh .. and Cas dying coming back SO soon didn't do it so much for me. At first when Lucifer blew him up, it was kind of an OMG moment, but then IMO he came back too soon, but oh well ... DO love he's still alive cause I kinda looove him. LOVED his line ''Assbutt''; He's AWESOME! lol

OH MY GOSH!!!! My heart sank when I saw Castiel and Bobby Dead. I thought this was going to be the series finale and Dean was gonna die at the hand of Sam, but I am so glad Dean is still alive and that there is season 6. It looks like Chuck may indeed be God which is quite interesting that would also explain God's abscence because he was acting as a prophet. I would have never guessed.

It would make sense if Sam came back good because he made the ultimate sacrifice but I don't know because I thought only demons stood under broken lamps or maybe I'm mistaken. I have a feeling that Dean's son is going to end up fighting evil too that is the Wincehester's destiny it seems but anyway, I can't wait for next season and I'm so glad I was a fan from the start. t=This show is just great. It exceeded all my expectations and then some.

Great and fabulous Job to all the cast!!!

A little bit of mixed emotions, confusion but overall I ABSOLUTELY loved it. Kripke did Supernatural justice.

The last two seasons and the first season had a crazy ass huge cliffhanger that really only had generally somewhat predictable outcomes:

1 season: winchesters were either dead or alive
3 season: dean was in hell - was he going to get out or not (obviously he did and the next question is how/why)
4 season: lucifer sprung outta the cage - what next?

I think this finale was intended to stir up a crazy amount of questions. Well played, Kripke! ^^ I'm definitely perplexed and honestly I've never been so hyped up for the next season just to answer those questions. I mean the last few cliffhangers had me on the edge of my seat but I generally knew the outcome - I then wanted to know the execution of how the writers would handle it. I sincerely have NO IDEA how to answer the questions Supernatural posed for us in this finale. That's definitely an interesting way to end the season, and I'm glad for it.

It would've been more if Castiel and Bobby stayed dead or maybe brought back next season(LOL i was freaking out when they were offed so quickly) but then they wouldn't be able to throw in a bone for the next season. And Dean's beat-up face D: needed some Cas' magic haha.

This would've made an excellent series finale if Supernatural ended here because of the Chuck recapping a bunch of small details about their lives and the flashbacks LuciSam had of the two brothers throughout the past five years. That was amazing how his flashback ended with that amazing hug back from season 2. By teh way, whoever is angry about Chuck saying 'fans are always gonna bitch' that was NOT a slap in the face. I definitely did not see it that way and I smiled when I saw it on my tv. It was a good way to end this arch because it's true. I have followed this show obsessively and Supernatural writers/creators know that the dedicated fanbase often vehemently voices opinions of their own. They love that kind of devotion! But in reality, they were not insulting the fanbase, but appreciating it. Finales don't always please people and endings are hard. A lot of amazing shows I've seen had TERRIBLE endings and I just couldn't live with the finale they gave, but if Supernatural ended with this one, I'd be more than satisfied. This is Kripke's last season and handing the reins over to Sera Gamble. I think it's great that he wanted to end it on such a high note and make season 6 like a bonus season. I wasn't at first, but now I understand the complete story and I'm grateful for Kripke. He's awesome.

Well done Supernatural. Once you guys come out with season 5 on DVD, I'm going on a SUPERNATURAL MARATHON. all hours of the day devoted to my one and only favorite show.

Cheers!
BTW if we have sourcies again this summer, Supernatural fans we must unite! Supernatural has to pull through and bring it home again!

I don't think Sam is Sam... Why else would he look pissy when he saw Dean fulfill his last wish?

Chuck is God and was right to give us that "Endings are hard" rant because it is true, there is always some person that hates the ending and will bitch about it in these discussions.

All I care about is "When is it back?" "What's gonna happen?" "Is Lisa gonna die? [because whenever the guys find a girl they like she ends up on the roof dead] and "Is Misha Collins coming back as Cas?"

With everything else, I am good.

Cheers fellow Supernatural Enthusiasts!

If I had to choose one favorite episode the finale would be it.

The Sam/Dean bond is stronger than the f**ing devil, people! Their unconditional love conquers ALL! I cannot find words to express how amazing Supernatural is!

I'll try it with this quote: "Where love is there God is also."

Ok people need to chill. Anyone who got upset due to the twist at the end needs to calm down, the show from season one to five was an incredible journey. And I believe all the conflicts and things people hated bout the ending will make for awesome though somewhat cliche factors during the next season.

storyline was true to the end. Good five year run but where are they gonna take the story next? How do you beat saving the world from its apocalypse?

I hated the episode after it aired. I've only watched it once since and I still don't care for it. Had that been the series finale, it would have been good. If they re-title the show Supernatural 2 or something I'll accept this episode, but I do not, as of this point, like or enjoy it. I have 2 main reasons why.

The Chuck as God (or WHATEVER) Theory. - 1. I feel like it was just thrown together last minute (like a lot of the second half of this season) and 2. The Chuck as Kripke/God.

I found that the last bit of the Chuck ramble at the end (mainly about the 'fans are always gonna bitch', 'that there will always be holes' and 'they're a raging pain in the ass') felt like a slap in thre face to the people who have followed this show obsessively for the five years it's been on. Those of us who promote the show when the CW does so very little for it. I don't so much like the show as it's become such an integral part of my life that I know I cannot live without it. I love this show and I would sacrifice whatever I had to to keep it on the air if it came down to that, but after being told, essentially, that I'm a bitchy pain in the ass I'm having second thoughts. I may need to find a new fandom if I can't get over this. Thanks Kripke. Thanks a Lot.

And the fact that there was no lead up to Chuck being God until the last few moments of the episode I was kind of surprised. I expected, they way they led the story of the Impala, that the car was going to turn out to be The Father of all creation.

The other thing that bothers me is the ending of this episode. I know a lot of people are going to complain about Lisa, and they have a right to, though my reasoning may be differnt from others.

This is not where the show is meant to be heading. The boys were never suppose to settle down and have families. Look what happened to Sam when he tried to have a normal life. As much as I don't like Lisa (not because she's with Dean and I'm not) but because she just doesn't belong there. Dean will not be happy living with her and Ben, trying to lead the apple pie life Sam wants him to have. Especially without his little brother there with him.

And Sam coming back? While there has been talk as to if it's just Sam, or Demon Sam, or Lucifer Sam or Michael Sam. I rewatched it again and I think, upon review, that it's just Sam. Probably brought back by God as a reward for his selfless good work. If that's the case I don't think he'll disrupt the life Dean is carving out for himself with Lisa, even though Dean clearing isn't happy being there with her. without Sam.

A part of me cannot wait for the sixth season to start, if only so we can clear up some of these lingering questions. The other part of me wishes it wouldn't come back, so I don't have to be a bitchy pain in the ass for another year.

I just want to kno when the next season comes back on

next season will kick ass, I can't wait! I'm thinking about taking some pills and sleep for a couple of months. rs

Kripke's Masterpiece. It was Amazing, Honestly. I am still weary about Sam (if it was Sam) standing outside and really cannot wait to see how that will turn out. Next season is only a summer away!

I absolutely loved this finale. It was perfect, exactly what we needed, and gave fandom enough fodder to last us the summer hiatus without any problem. =]

What Sam did... Man. I have never seen a more heartbreaking redemption story in my life. His whole life he's been manipulated to go dark-side, by angels and demons alike. He's been yanked this way and that in order to get him to give into the darkness. But in the end he overcame one of the most powerful creatures in all of creation, Lucifer, because of the epic love of Sam and Dean (in a non-Wincest way, of course). Sam took control and willingly threw himself into the darkest pits of Hell in order to save his brother, his friends, and the whole world. He's a hero in every sense of the word.

I don't know how Dean is going to be able to move on from this, though. I loved the last scene of him being with Lisa and Ben, having a normal, apple-pie life. It'll be interesting to see how long he can stay in that life, or if he starts itching for crappy motel rooms and hours spent on the road.

That last shot with Sam has gotten fandom all in a tizz. I am of the opinion that Chuck/God(?) brought him back. The scene before that was Chuck sitting at his desk, saying that nothing ever really ends, before he disappeared. Next thing we know, Sam's standing outside Lisa's house. I think it's 100% pure Sam, and that he's looking at his brother with longing, sadness, and also contentment, happy that Dean kept his promise.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see once season 6 rolls around?

Before I wrap this up, I'd like to commend each and every cast and crew member of Supernatural for a job well done. Jared's scenes as Lucifer were too awesome for words, as was the raw pain and fear on his face when he was playing Sam again. Jensen portrayed heartbreak and desperation beautifully, as always. Jim and Misha were wonderful, too, and I'm so happy that they both survived the Apocalypse and will (fingers-crossed!) be in the next season. The writing of the episode was phenomenal, as was the directing, the lighting, and everything in-between.

This episode was a perfect way to wrap up the first five seasons of the show, tying everything together with heart-wrenching montages of the boys' past in connection to the Impala. Family truly is the root of everything, isn't it?

I feel incredibly blessed to have been a fan since Day 1, and I can't wait to see what the next season brings!

Lucifer was always in a "box". He wasnt in hell, jus like god is absent from heaven. I think that Sam and Lucifer are in a slightly different plane, where they can watch our world but they cant interact. The ultimate punishment, to never be seen. Never to be able to touch or talk to those around them

I give a standing ovation to Eric Kripke, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles and everyone else involved in this superb ending to the five year arc of SUPERNATURAL. I have rarely felt such a strong connection to fictional characters as I have to the Winchesters, and that includes everyone from John (JDM) and Mary (Samantha Smith) to young John and Mary to Sam and Dean. The acting, writing, direction, photography, damn--EVERYTHING--have created a TV show that has, on a shoestring budget, created nothing short of a miracle in the TV industry--a GREAT show! It has been my supreme pleasure to watch for five solid years and enjoy every single second of scares, laughs, tears and triumphs. Thank you, CW, for keeping SUPERNATURAL on the air for five seasons and wisely renewing it for a sixth. I can't wait for the season six premiere! Love, Robin, Editor, SUPERNATURAL, www.moogi.com

Wow. I was totally shocked! Did anyone freak out when Bobby and Castiel got killed? And only Dean could roll into a fight between the devil and an angel and not get crushed into dust lol. Well, of course the first assumption would be that Chuck is God and I think it would have been totally obvious to anyone if he did not lack a few God-like qualities. But I think it was awesome that Sam gave his life for the sake of the world. I didn't really see how Sam could have avoided killing himself from the beginning of the season anyway, but I knew once he did that God (or someone else) would have to bring him back... otherwise there would have been a lot of angry fans. However, the only thing that concerns me greatly is how Dean is going to fit in to this new life style. I believe once he figures out Sam is still alive (and he will, trust me) he will give up the normal apple-pie life for what truly makes him happy and that is fighting evil with his brother. I see Dean's position as kind of a vacation for him, not really a perminent spot in life. Although, who's to say at the end of the next season that both of the boys will not settle down into a peaceful life? Only time will tell I suppose.

this was the best season finale. it brought me to tears...GOOD JOB. i can't wait until next season.

A fiddle of gold againist your soul, if I jump in the hole you win that's what Lucifer said. I think the light flash was Sam's soul being released. I also think that chuck was God or God took him. I never saw any of this coming but I will bet Dean's new family is in trouble in Season Six. If God put Cas back in his body he will do the same for Sam. I also think Lucfier has been caged the rings were the keys to his cage. All this is up to the writers I have faith they will find a way to explain this.

Wow!That's all I can say... WOW. I didn't know going into this episode that it was going to be the season finale. And then for it to start tying up like a series finale really really started to make me freak. At first I was getting anxious because I thought "Chuck" was setting us up for the untimly demise of my favorite character - the mighty Impala - I cried when she was wrecked...I was thrilled when Dean nursed her back to health...but I digress... it was crushing to see Dean have the heart beaten out of him - or attempted to at least - and then Cas and Bobby... it had to be the End... I was caught so off guard... BUT then we have the loose ends... Sam and ghost signs, where's Crowley - did Bobby get his soul back? What about Death's deal? He could have given Sam back...Lucifer doesn't need a meat suit in the pit... And seriously, not to go all good Catholic and all - but what about the freaky timing on this episode? Purely coincidence that it fell on Ascension Thursday? Totally freaky to be in Mass listening to Fr Dwyer talk about the close of St Luke's Gospel and then watch Chuck type The End on the "Winchester Gospel." Then of course the really big stretch of Jesus ascending into Heaven contrasting Samifer descending into Hell... and you wonder how otherwise intellegent people read into Nostradamus... :::Deep sigh of relief::: Can't wait for the next hundred! WOW, Thanks! DP - Publisher - Martial Arts' Insider magazine

This final rocked hard. Couse, I got some problems with it (I not a fan of the Lisa chick and plus they didn't show a little bit of Michael and Lucifer fight) but I give this 5/5. Learning more about the Impala and seeing a side of the bros life that we don't usually see really add more layers to the characters. Castiel once again show his badass self when he molotov Michael with holy fire, before he got blown up (again) by Lucifer. Good thing God not only brogth him back, but promoted him to Archangel level, nice.

Now for the big shockers: "Chuck might God" and "Sam reappering in the end". My mind is sill bobbled on how they hinted that Chuck is God, GOD!!!! As I try to convince myself, the more it makes sense to me, he knows so much about the events in the show, no one would think God would pose as a lame drunked writer who also a prophet, the way he was talking about the car like it very important in the grand plan of things which turns out to be true; I didn't even consire the Chuck = Kripke angle.

I think that in the next season the deamons, led by Meg, will all be gunning for Sam and Dean, Castiel will be more of a badass since he got more power; possibly a time-travel epsiode to show the origin of the Colt more of the guy who made it (who also created the biggest Devil Trap), the Horsemen trying to get ther rings back, and the guys having to fight one of the other few things the Colt can't kill. Those were some single epsiode ideas, for a season arc, I think it would be nice to inclued some other human organization involued in the supernatural, preferly evil and with the government. Also another crossover with the Ghostfacers.

I think the whole show can be quite confusing at times. Thanks for sharing this summary which helps to clarify somewhat some of the facts.

Wow I can't wait until next season. I have so many questions, 1: is Chuck god? 2: is that really Sam? 3: will Sam let Dean have his apple-pie life or pull him back in to fighting monsters? 4: will Dean be happy in this no monsters life? I mean could he ever live a normal life after all that he has been through?

I am extremely confused as to what the Hell happened in the episode. I mean I understood everything that happened, but what the Hell are they going to do now? Watching Castiel explode was kinda cool though. And I'm talking about the graphics, I love Castiel. They'd better find a way to bring Gabriel back or a lot of people are going to be very, very angry. And what happened to Michael, is he dead or what? Supernatural is my favorite thing in the world, but the season finale/ ending to Supernatural period leaves a lot to be explained as Chuck clearly states.(On that note, what the hell is Chuck?)

The finale had me with mixed emotions. The big showdown between Micheal and Lucifer to me felt a bit rushed. I feel that the whole episode could have been expanded a bit more maybe into an hour an half to explain everything. As Kripke said it was only meant to be five seasons and there are still some gap holes that were never resolved like Bobby and Crowley's deal and the breaking of it for example. I also feel that even though I love Bobby and Castiel the season finale would have been even more heartbreaking if they stayed dead. Though Castiel becoming daddys little servant again demonstrates family loyalty that has been a running theme throughout. Also, Sam should have stayed hidden until season 6 to give it more of a shocking ending because everyone knew as soon as season 6 was brought the two brothers would have to alive. What we need if for Kripke to tell us if that ending with Sam under the lamp was planned before or after the pick up of season 6?
However overall, Kripke has done us proud, five seasons of tears, laughter and fright.
Well done to the Supernatural actors/actresses and the whole Supernatural team!
Enjoy your break :)
