Podcasts Are Coming, We Swear!

We know, we know, we've been neglecting you. We said there'd be podcasts, and thus far we haven't delivered. It's been a matter of scheduling -- now that we don't all work in the same office, we're having trouble getting together to watch the eps and then dish about them. We're working on it, and hope to have OTH podcasts for you soon -- like, within the next couple of weeks soon. Supernatural podcasts... well, we're doing our best, but it might be with a different or rotating cast of 'casters. Which raises a question:

Vote, comment and let us know what you think. We'll let you know as soon as we've got podcasts to post, and thanks for your patience!

Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill Finale Podcasts: "The Goodby Gossip Girl" and "Remember Me as a Time of Day"

Listen Now:Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Goodbye Gossip Girl" and One Tree Hill podcast: "Remember Me as a Time of Day"

All is well in the worlds of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The CW Source! We finally made technology bow to our will, and Jackie made a triumphant return as we discussed the season finales of our two Monday-night obsessions. There was plenty to talk about!

Happily ever after
On Gossip Girl, the gang decides to track down the mistress of mayhem once and for all after she labels Chuck a coward, Blair weak, Nate a whore, and Serena (gasp!) irrelevant. All sorts of things go wrong -- but one very important thing goes right: Chuck and Blair FINALLY get to admit their love for each other! At the same time! EEEEEEEE!

And on One Tree Hill, it's a long series of happily-ever-afters -- Peyton recovers, and Leyton is blissful with their baby. Nathan gets called up to the NBA, Brooke admits her love for Julian, Victoria morphs into a good mother, and even Mouth and Millie engage in some blissful canoodling. The only one having a bad time is Dan -- and let's face it, he deserves it!

Find out which one of us went crazy for Chair, hear who cried -- and why! -- during One Tree Hill, discover who had objections to all the joy, and learn what has us excited -- and worried -- about next season of both shows. Plus, I share some tales about the Gossip Girl cast the the CW Upfronts last week! (Sorry, OTH fans -- that cast wasn't present.)

This Week's Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill Podcasts

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you we won't have a podcast for this week! We tried, trust me we did, but with Sarah in New York covering the Upfronts and me back at home wallowing in misery without her, we were unable to make my computer function properly.

The good news is - next week there's a chance that Jackie may be able to join us for the finale podcasts! Yay! Celebrate good times, come on! The bad news is that you'll have to wait a few more days to hear our evil laughter and our cooing sounds of joy over Chuck and Blair.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Forever and Always Almost"

Listen Now

The big day is finally here on One Tree Hill! Peyton and Lucas get married in a lovely, very personal ceremony, surrounded by friends (but not, alas, family -- we missed you, Karen and Larry!) and bouyed up by their love. The vows left even hardened cynics a little sniffly. So it's a shame we spent the entire episode waiting for everything to go horribly awry...

Not that there wasn't a bit of wedding drama even before the much-feared end --- Lucas invited Julian -- who brought a date. Even worse, said date is Missy, the Brookealike from the movie. What's a girl to d? Well, if you're Brooke, you enlist the nearest hunky pop star to make your ex jealous. Meanwhile, Skills is on Jamie duty -- and he's making sure the kid won't go missing this time -- and nathan is dealing with some bad news -- the Clippers drafted Nino, not him. Raise your hand if you're surprised by that development.

All of which is just the build-up to the moment we all knew was coming. Lucas goes to the garage to unveil the Comet, leaving Peyton alone. She immediately starts bleeding heavily and falls to the floor. Will these two get a happy ending despite all of the trauma? (Hint: This article suggests the answer is no.)

Mia and I discuss the many quoteable lines, and reveal some shocking sentiments that will have you wondering whether I've suffered a recent head trauma. Plus, we reveal the key signs that your wedding is going well, speculate on Jamie's classroom, lament what happens when teasers run amok, and offer our services to any engaged couples out there.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Show Me How to Live"

Listen Now

Peyton is preparing for the baby on One Tree Hill -- in a way that only Peyton can. She's putting together an "in-case-of-death" capsule for the tot, and Lucas doesn't deal well. So he takes her box of memories and leaves. Way to support your bedridden wife, dude! Fortunately, Jamie plays Voice of Wisdom and teaches Lucas the error of his ways.

Meanwhile, Brooke is dealing the Sam drama -- she's so discombobulated about Sam's visits with her birth mom that she proposes adopting Sam outright. Sam agrees, but you can tell she's torn. Who knew Victoria could play Voice of Wisdom on that on? We had no idea she had it in her! Plus, Skills goes on the Worst. Date. Ever., courtesy of Chuck, and Nathan gets a chance to impress an NBA scout. All that and a baby shower -- not bad!

Mia and I discuss best and worst dates, what registers on the creepy scale, what we'd do if we were stuck with Chuck, and why we felt sorry for Sam. Plus, find out what basketball jobs we'd be suited for, what really surprised us about Sam's mom, and why Mia hopes her family doesn't listen to these podcasts!

Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Wrath of Con"

Listen Now

The bitch is back on Gossip Girl, and we couldn't be happier! Georgina spends an entire episode being shiny and happy and good, but she finally gets the push she needs to revert to full on eeeeeeevil. Yay!

Georgina
We were loving this episode -- definitely one of the best of the season, and possibly one of the best of the series. That's not to say there were some things that drove us completely crazy. Lily made us bonkers by first trying to sweep the con under the rug -- even at the expense of allowing Poppy to get away scott free -- so they wouldn't be touched by scandal. Then she turned around and had Serena arrested! How is that flying under the radar? Then there's Chuck and Blair. Don't get me wrong, their scenes together were fantastic, but surely we weren't the only pole flinging things at the TV when he lied to Blair about his feelings again! Come on, Chuck -- what's it going to take?

There's loads more. Find out why Mia thinks the cops read gossip columns, who we thought was made of awesome, what we imagined Rufus was making for the engagement dinner, and what horrible fate Mia wished upon Poppy. Plus! Hear about our encounter with Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr -- live and in person! Wheeeee!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "A Kiss to Build a Dream On"

Listen Now

It was another disconnected week on One Tree Hill. Seriously, what's it going to take to get the entire cast together in one place -- a wedding? Oh, wait...

Peyton is going stir-crazy on bed-rest, but Lucas is too busy with car repairs and flashbacks to entertain her. Meanwhile, Haley gets some good news about a song she wrote, and Nathan gets some good news about a team that wants to sign him -- in Europe. Mia is distraught to learn that her boyfriend got busy with Brooke (but who didn't) AND Peyton... but does she really have the right to get pissy about something that happened in high school? Victoria is still bonding with Sam, much to Brooke's dismay, but she makes some seriously dubious decisions. And Jamie has his first dance -- and he brings Skills as his wingman.

This episode prompts us to discuss the varieties of European basketball, ponder when it's time to stop being supportive and start being assertive, praise the use of Loverboy, disagree about Victoria (but not about who among us has greater bitch potential), determine what profession will never fit anyone in Tree Hill, and even break into song. Check it out!

Gossip Girl Podcast: "Southern Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl gets back in its groove this week with this tale of double-crosses, jealousy, cons and bad decisions. No, it's not perfect, but there's enough to keep Mia and I happy. (Poor Jackie was rendered speechless by the fact that Rufus bought a ring for another woman. How could he!)

Georgina and Chuck
Speaking of other women... Blair is convinced that something is up with Serena's new beau, Gabriel, and her suspicions seem to be confirmed when she sees him embracing Poppy. That snake! But Gabriel has an explanation -- Poppy has lined up investors for his new business venture, and if he dumps her, they'll all go away. Can Serena stand a little subterfuge for a week? She agrees. But Chuck and Blair torpedo that plan, bringing Poppy in to see the happy couple. The good news: Gabriel chooses Serena. The bad news? Now his company is toast.

But wait! There just happens to be a room full of Manhattan's money'd elite inteh next room, and they LOVE investing in unknown ventures! And guess what -- that's just hte point. This was all a con that Gabriel and Poppy were pulling on Serena and her ilk They even managed to sucker Rufus out of Dan's college tuition. to convince Serena she's wrong, Chuck and Blair travel out to the religious commune where Georgina Sparks is now hanging out. They need her to prove that Gabriel has his facts wrong. She declines -- she's got too much love in her heart for all her fellow creatures! -- until Chuck invokes Blair. That convinces Georgina that maybe a trip to the city wouldn't be a bad thing.

Meanwhile, Nate and Blair are trying to figure out how to navigate going to colleges at opposite ends of the city, and Nate decides the best option is to get an apartment situated squarely between the two -- and to forbid Chuck from ever seeing Blair again. Plus, Rufus gets some bad news, Vanessa spills some awful info, and Rufus goes ring shopping.

There's more, of course: Check out my grand conspiracy theory, and hear Mia's objections. Find out Mia's impossible dream, get our reaction to Blair's fear of subways, weigh in on whether Lily is addicted to marriage, and discover what Dan did to merit our praise.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "I Would For You"

Listen Now

A lot's going on this week on One Tree Hill -- so why does the episode feel so empty?

Victoria is back in town, and she needs Brooke to come back to Clothes over Bros. Inexplicably, Brooke agrees. Even more inexplicably, Victoria has keys to Brooke's house. Are locksmiths shot at the city limits or something? Come on, folks! Most inexplicably, Victoria and Sam seem to be developing a decent, nurturing relationship. What's going on here?

Meanwhile, remember all those death-defying drives through red lights that Peyton perpetrated back in season one? Now that she's rid herself of that particular death wish, she, of course, finally gets in an accident. The good news: Peyton and the baby are fine. The bad news: The Comet is toast. Lucas and Peyton finally have to let their friends know that Peyton is facing a dangerous pregnancy, and there is much bonding.

Finally, Haley and Nathan have a chance to send Jamie to Genius School, but things don't go so well, Plus, Nathan meets Obligatory Unpleasant Basketball Teammate Number 10,894,457, asn we again wonder why b-ball is termed a team sport on this show, wehn it seems to attract the least-friendly bunch of glory hounds on the planet.

We have plenty to say about the ep: Find out who sympathized with Victoria and who wanted to drop-kick her, discover which couple we'd really like to see get it on, hear what we think Skills' type is, and learn who we think is becoming a minor character in his own show. Plus, learn all about Mia's past as a basketball tough girl -- and find out what she did to warrant a technical foul!

Gossip Girl Podcast: "Seder Anything"

Listen Now

We know we shouldn't be disturbed by inconsiderate behavior anymore on Gossip Girl, but the episode bugged us! Yeah, yeah, running off and maybe married/lying about a cater-waiter job/trying ti manipulate your boyfriend to go to the school his grandfather chooses/banging a ballerina.... we're used to that. But hijacking a Seder and a rehearsal dinner to air your own grievances? That's just not right!

Now Cyrus, we like
Serena's back from Spain, and she's kind of freaking out -- she maybe kind of a little might be married, and to her "friend" Poppy's boyfriend. Our vacations don't tend to go like that... While she's trying to figure out if she needs an annulment, Blair is trying to cement her place in society by sucking up to Tripp's fiancee. Alas, it doesn't work -- "It takes a while to matter," Maureen tells Blair. But Nate's grandfather tells Blair she can get all the social points she wants -- IF she convinces Nate to go to Yale instead of Columbia. Meanwhile, Jenny has a date, which is interrupted by Chuck's mostly naked date, and Dan decides he needs to make some money to pay for Yale.

Most of the players end up at Cyrus' Seder -- which they RUIN! Seriously, folks, it's NOT ABOUT YOU! Sigh. There's lots of cross talk as Dan tries to disguise the fact he's a cater-waiter, Gabriel tries to talk to Serena, Serena tries to pass of Dan as her boyfriend, Lily tries to figure out what's going on with Serena, Rufus tries to figure out what's going on, and Cyrus and his mom try to remind people that HELLO! religious occasion! You think you might pay attention? Sigh. And Nate decides to ruin another social occasion by using his Best Man's toast to chew out his grandfather for turning The Captain in to the SEC. Seriously --- what's WRONG with these people?

The only people NOT behaving badly are Jenny and (shockingly) Chuck -- who finally apologizes to Jenny for that whole date rape thing from the first season. Remember that, when Chuck as a genuinely dangerous guy ad not just a lovable cad? Chuck tells Nate to think about what happened with Blair, and Gabriel tells Serena that they're not really married... so all is well, right? Well, maybe... Gabriel and Poppy seem to be back together at the end of the episode. What's going on?

Find out who WE think should be a cater-waiter, listen to us speculate on the miraculous properties of Cyrus' brisket and kosher wine, discover what really got people's juices flowing, and learn how WE think Nate got into Columbia.

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Letting Go"

Listen Now

We're torn on this episode of One Tree Hill: Mia revels in her romantic side, while Sarah continues to be, well, Sarah. (Jackie, alas, is MIA -- we think she took Brooke's plane tickets and followed Julian to Malibu with a foster child she picked up at an airport gift shop.)

Mia finally gets her Donna Martin Graduates/Dead Poet's Society plot for Haley, to an extent -- Sam and Jack organize a mass exodus from school to Haley's house so she can teach them Catch 22. Principal Rimkus is not amused, and Hely tears her a new one. Go, Hales! Of course, she also gives Rimkus her lesson plans -- even if she's not coming back, she wants to make sure her kids get taught. That's the Haley we know and love...

Meanwhile, Nathan, Lucas and Jamie hang out in Keith's old garage and talk about life, love, manly bonding and missing the people they love. Yes, Jamie broke our hearts a little bit when he asks Lucas if he's allowed to miss Grandpa Dan, too. Oof. Speaking of oof, Julian returns to pledge his love for Brooke -- and offers to whisk her back to California. Tonight. Make up your mind, fast! So Brooke goes back and forth and hems and haws and worries about her love and her foster kid and everything else. Oh, the torture! We're not entirely sure why she had to decide right then and there -- is it impossible to do a long-distance relationship for a couple of months? -- but Brooke ended up heartbroken. Again. At least Jack and Sam have a shot at a relationship. Plus, Skills drags Mouth on a road trip to get over Millie, and discovers the only way for him to get over her is to get back with her. Fortunately, Millie feels the same way. At least that's one happy couple in Tree Hill!

That leaves Peyton, who spends the episode sketching the story of her and Lucas' relationship for her unborn child. That... seems ominous. Is she already giving up?

Hear us speculate on what it would take for people to lock their doors in Tree Hill, find out what happens when Mia goes to the wrong person for reassurance, discover who we thought looked great (and who may have pissed off the makeup or hair staff), and listen for the moment when Mia breaks my brain.

Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Remains of the J"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl shows us that the best of intentions... well, sometimes aren't actually the best of intentions, as Serena is determined to throw Little J a Sweet-16 shindig whether she likes it or not. Plus, Vanessa and Chuck act out, Blair and Nate confuse us, Rufus and Lily continue to act like Rufus and Lily, and Dan gets a surprising fan letter.

Jenny
It's Jenny's 16th birthday, and she wants a nice, low-key evening with family, friends, board games, Rufus' chili... what more could a girl want? Well, Serena (at the urging of socialite Poppy) decides J REALLY wants an Upper East Side-style sophisticated soiree, and she will give that the Jenny whether she likes it or not! Cue the mass of socialites, the photographer and caterers, and a whole bunch of the Best People -- who don't actually know Jenny at all. So J retaliates by posting a party invite on Gossip Girl, which leads to predictable apartment-trashing results.

Meanwhile, Chuck is convinced that Blair is back with Nate, and Blair seems to agree with him. Nate... he says they're just friends. But Vanessa doesn't buy that line, so she makes out with Chuck so they can discombobulate their exes. Discombobulation is achieved, and Blair flings herself at Nate -- who declines to catch her, saying this isn't the way he wants it to be. That, to us, sounds like he's saying he just wants to be friends. But at the end of the ep, he gets Dorota to bring Blair out to the duck pond so they can make out. Wait, what?

Finally, Rufus and Lily cook up a cockamamie scheme to pay for Dan's college (um, folks, you might want to consult with your kids before you make that sort of step) and Dan gets a fan who is closer to him than he thinks.

Find out what we thought about Serena's motives, hear a surprising confession from Mia, discover who would REALLY be paying Dan's tuition, and learn what we thought about Jenny's actions.

Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Grandfather"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl graces us with out-of-control Blair, suddenly respectable Nate, pining Chuck, quippy Dan, and brain-dead Lily and Rufus. Except for that last bit, we approve.

Blair acts out
Nate is drawn back into the bosom of his family, which means -- gasp! -- Nate gets a decent plotline! We know! We were shocked, too! It seems Nate's maternal grandfather is from a long line of politicians, public servants and other grand-high-muckety-mucks, and he expects all his progeny to follow in his footsteps. Nate starts getting sucked back into that world. But is it a bad thing? Vanessa, who was expecting to spend a blissful summer backpacking across the pierogi capitals of Eastern Europe, thinks so, but we have to admit that an internship with the mayor's office would keep us in town, too.

Meanwhile, Blair is spiraling out of control, pissing off the moneyed elites of Manhattan and generally behaving badly. Bliss! We love bridge-burning Blair! Serena and Chuck try to pull her back from the edge, but Blair doesn't seem to want their help (although she does want to get in Chuck's pants). In the end, it's Nate she turns to -- and Chuck, seeing evidence of this, gets steamed. Hmmm...

Find out what we suggest as alternate college destinations for Blair, how we like our Dan, what we thought of the Chuck/Blair/Carter scene, what we won't do to get ahead in the world, and what name always makes us suspicious. Plus, we put out a call to all Polish speakers -- just what was Dorota saying to Chuck? We want to know! And now we DO know! "Are you a crazy, little boy? I work for Miss Blair, not for you. What the hell were you thinking, that you could buy me?" Thanks, Kem! You rock!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "You and Me and the Bottle Makes Three Tonight"

Listen Now

Welcome back, One Tree Hill! After the long, long break, we finally get to spend some quality time with our favorite couples. Too bad so many of them seemed to be having such a lousy time!

Casting

All is shiny and happy and well in Tree Hill -- for about 2.5 seconds. Then Peyton's having massive pains, and it looks like she may have to choose between the baby's life and her own. Lucas lobbies for Peyton to look after her own well-being, but Peyton won't hear of it. Meanwhile, Brooke hears something she doesn't want to from Julian -- how dare he say he loves her! -- and Julian gets freaked out by her freaking out. Mouth and Millie reunite, shed tears, and then break up for good. And Deb and Dan are forced to be nice to each other in front of Jamie, but the claws come out as soon as Jamie's out of earshot.

The only couple having a decent time is Nathan and Haley -- they've escaped the vortex of despair that is Tree Hill, and they're happily contemplating a future in which music co-exists with basketball and bunches of kids roam the halls. Thanks for the brief respite, guys -- but is a life on the road really what every child wants?

Hear what had me spitting with rage (this time), discover what bit of speculation led to Mia's workman's comp claim for hearing damage, find out what plot development would just be too tacky to handle, check it out as we weigh in on Peyton's chances in light of some off-screen info, and learn which one of us may have faked a phone call to duck an "I love you" conversation.

Gossip Girl Podcast: "The Age of Dissonance"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl is finally back, and it gave us plenty to chew over. The kids are participating in their (mandatory) senior class play (except Chuck, who got a doctor's note diagnosing stage fright), and who woulda thunk it -- parts of the play may reflect on their real lives!

Rachel
The play is an adaptation of "The Age of Innocence," and Blair is convinced that her life is perfect. Then she finds out her offer to Yale has been rescinded (and given to Nelly Yuki!) and everything goes to hell. Someone ratted her out -- and is spilling lots of secrets on Gossip Girl -- but who? Could it be her fresh-faced nemesis from Iowa? Why yes, yes it could. While all this is going on, Serena is trying to hit on the self-absorbed director, Jenny is dragooned into carrying messages, Rufus does some actual parenting, and Dan realizes that Rachel isn't who he thought she was. But really, is any woman EVER who Dan thought she was?

Meanwhile, Chuck continues with the tiresome secret society plotline, when his lady love shows up with nemesis Carter Blaizen. She disappears! She needs his help! She's depending on him! Or...it's all a con job. The one upside of this is that Chuck ends up realizing that he wants Blair. Unfortunately, Blair is busy being chatted up by none other than Carter Blaizen. I smell trouble!

Check us out as we discuss Carter vs. Chuck, contemplate what's going on in Blair's head, figure out how to deal with the Cyrano problem, and advise Dan to feel highly insulted. Plus, find out what we said to totally blow Mia's mind!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "Screenwriter's Blues"

Listen Now

It's unanimous -- we were loving this week's episode of One Tree Hill. The casting! Haley got a plot! Dan and Jamie! And The Beek, again, some more! Joy!

Casting

Tree Hill is overrun with actors aping the mannerisms of our favorite characters. There's a sofa full of young studs running their hands through their hair like Lucas does, a curly-haired blond sitting next to Peyton and wailing "Why does everyone leave?", a gaggle of shirtless hunks and poncho-wearing tutor-girls, and a Brooke-alike who seems determined to drive the real Brooke around the bend. Bliss!

Of course, life goes on even when there's a movie to be made: Haley wants to run Sam's heartfelt essay about growing up in various inappropriate foster homes in the school paper, but the new principal "suggests" that Haley reconsider -- we don't want to upset the parents! Haley ends up printing the essay -- but what will happen to her? Meanwhile, Peyton is dealing with babyproofing, crib-constructing and all the other stuff that comes with pregnancy -- and she can't handle it alone. Of course, she doesn't want to "bother" Lucas during this important time for him. Peyton -- it's your first child together! Bother away! Finally, Dan and Jamie end up competing over the same woman, and Brooke deals with people's images of her past -- and she doesn't handle it well.

Listen in to hear our theories of what will happen with Haley, hear what frustrated us about the Peyton storyline (we disagreed on this one!), find out which lines had us laughing out loud or tearing up (cough Jackie cough), discover which character we thought was wasted this episode, and hear what character absence prompted victory arm. Plus, more adoration of The Beek!

Gossip Girl Podcast: "Carrnal Knowledge"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl frustrated the heck out of us this week -- why did so many presumably smart people act so damn stupid? Why did so many characters seem to regress? Where did some of these plotlines come from? Gah!

Rachel
Blair is done with her detention, and she's bent on revenge. When she can't come up with authentic dirt on Ms. Carr, she makes up a rumor that she and Dan Humphrey are having a fling. It hits Gossip Girl, and all hell breaks loose. When Rachel finds out about Gossip Girl, the school leans on one of Blair's cronies and Blair gets expelled. Goodbye, Yale! Except then Rachel and Dan meet up for coffee and commiseration, and Serena snaps a shot of their far-to-intimate-seeming meeting. Rachel gets fired, and Blair's back. But now that Rachel is no longer Dan's quasi-teacher, that means it's perfectly ok for them to get busy right?

Meanwhile, Chuck is trying to reconstruct the "greatest night of his life" with a mystery woman, and discovers a sexy private gentleman's club that may be eeeeeevil. His mystery woman disappears -- what could it mean? And why should we care?

Find out who tried to bludgeon herself into submission, discover what we DID like about the episode, hear what caused us to claw at our eyes, and ponder with us Bart's motivations for keeping address cards. Plus, tattoo facts, and a shameful admission!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "We Change, We Wait"

Listen Now

One Tree Hill provokes some debate this week as we discuss Brooke and Peyton's interactions with -- and about -- Julian. But we can agree that we're thrilled to see Dan again, even though this softer, gentler version has us confused. Plus, The Beek returns! Hooray!

Lucas

Lucas and Julian are in trouble -- they need to pick a director, even though everyone they talk to seems to be insane. That leads to the return of The Beek as crazed director Dixon, who scoffs at Lucas' impassioned defense of his story -- then turns around and parrots Lucas' words to Julian's dad. That means The Beek gets the job, which upsets Lucas, but we couldn't be happier.

Meanwhile, Julian and Brooke are at an impass -- Brooke doesn't want to set a bad example for Sam (huh?) and she's unsure of what she should do. Things get murkier when Peyton comes bearing a bit information about Julian's character which gives Brooke pause. Is Peyton protecting Brooke, or is she in some way jealous?

Listen in as we consider Brooke's motives, ponder the nature of Dan's existence, cheer Nathan's basketball victory, wonder if Mia and Chase are the new Mouth and Millie, and dissect the power of writers in Hollywood. Check it out!

Gossip Girl Podcast: "You've Got Yale"

Listen Now

Gossip Girl hit us with a blast from the past this week as we return to Queen B leading her posse of headbands and vowing destruction for all who oppose her. Plus, Serena got accepted, Dan got petulant, Chuck got creative, Jack got dangerous, Rufus and Lily got WAY too friendly in public places, and Nate and Vanessa got screen time.

Blair and Rachel
It college acceptance time, and apparently Yale emails acceptance letters now. We're surprised they just don't send the list to Gossip Girl and cut out the middleman. Serena is accepted, but Blair's wait-listed, which sends her into a tizzy. She lashes out at Rachel, the new, ridiculously young teacher, who had the temerity to give Blair a B. Horrors! that leads to a double-cross involving opera, and eventually detention for Blair. This means war!

Meanwhile, Serena is torn about Yale, and eventually turns it down -- without consulting Dan, which pisses him off. Chuck is beyond college -- he's already teaching Revenge Schemes 101 as he tries to destroy Jack. But it's Lily who comes up with the winning strategy -- if she adopts Chuck, she becomes his legal guardian and Jack is out. Jack does not take kindly to this, and assaults Lily in the powder room at the Metropolitan Opera. Chuck saves her, and agrees to be part of her family.

Listen in while we chastise Rufus and Lily for flagrant PDA despite Bart's very recent death (tacky!) and take Blair to task for regressing to her headband days. We contemplate Eric's brief presence, wonder what happened to Nate's hair, applaud Chuck's ingenuity and his switch from date rapist to defender of women, and debate whether Dan's reaction to Serena's decision was justified. Plus, find out who to talk to for vegan recipes!

One Tree Hill Podcast: "A Hand to Take Hold of the Scene"

Listen Now

Awww, what an episode! One Tree Hill charmed us this week on so many levels. We loved the Brooke/Julian interaction, Lucas and Peyton practicing parenthood, Naley getting a night out (even if Nathan seemed to be spending more time with Chase) -- heck, even Sam didn't bug us that much last night!

One Tree Hill

Julian schedules a business meeting with Brooke, but is it a date? Sam sure thinks so. And why not? Everyone else seems to be having fun this episode. When Chase asks Mia out -- and Mia freaks out about it -- Haley brings Nathan along for a double-date. But who will look after Jamie and Andre? That would be Lucas and Peyton, after Haley totally tricks Lucas into agreeing to babysit in a completely adorable scene. (Love Lucas and Haley interacting!) Lucas and Peyton discover how much work a couple of hyped-up, sugar-addled kids can be, and they start panicking about parenthood. No need -- Jaime and Andre agree that they're the coolest adults around. (Walkie talkies -- that'll do it every time.)

Meanwhile, Brooke and Julian are getting to know each other, and finally, they kiss! Two out of three podcasters find it incredibly hot, but one of us may have been off her game (or possibly off her meds, as a particularly shocking admission suggests.) Sam has a nice plot with Jack, telling him she'll be there for him ... which we're doubting, because they kind of seemed to be wrapping up that plot. We'll see.

Then there's Mouth and Millie. Oy. Mouth continues to pout, and Millie tells Brooke about Owen. Brooke freaks out for about two seconds, and then is there to support her friend. She's also there to talk to Mouth -- but will it be enough to save the relationship?

There's more: Find out what makes us worry about the Brooke/Julian relationship, discover what we think about Chad Michael Murray as a first-time director, and learn which couple had the best chemistry on their date.
