The Game: Dating Ups and Downs, Plus Serena Williams!

What'd you think of last night's episode of The Game? We felt like the show got a little off track this week. Sure, we loved watching the gang date new people (including guest star Serena Williams!), but the huge Kelly/Jason rift of last week was just a blip on the show's radar -- and last week's episode left us hanging! Here's hoping the show picks up their story next week. In the meantime, the feuding pair took a backseat to Malik, Derwin, and Mel's dating ups and downs, which were also a lot of fun.

First, there's Derwin. He just isn't having much luck as a single guy. But it's kind of his fault -- he's trying to be Malik, and the player ways aren't working for him. Last week, that girl in the club saw right through his champagne and smooth talking, and this week's not much better. Just as Derwin finally gets closer to his latest lady, he lashes out at her when he hears about her dating history. Hasn't he learned by now to stop hiding behind the tough-guy facade? Until he can be real with the women he dates, Derwin's not going to get very far.

Mel, too, is dating, but not very enthusiastically.

The Game's Pooch Hall on Derwin and Mel's Relationship

Pooch Hall wants to set the record straight: it takes two to mess up a relationship. And that includes Mel and Derwin's! In this interview, he tells Jason C. about what he and Derwin have in common, why the breakup wasn't just Derwin's fault, and what circumstances drove Mel and Derwin apart. Check out the gym where the guys are talking -- in addition to filming scenes from The Game there, the cast and crew use it for their workouts!

Hottie Bracket, Round Two: The Men Face Off!

Welcome to Round Two of the Men's Division for the CW Source hotness bracket, where you vote on the hottest CW stars!

Round One had its share of surprises and blow-outs. We were disappointed to see that the men of Reaper got booted off immediately -- even the Devil himself didn't win his match. You'd think if anyone was hot, it would be the guy stoking all the hellfire, but we guess not, because Malik (the sole survivor from The Game) beat him handily.

Even more surprising, the Man of Steel and the World's Most Evil Supervillain couldn't withstand the onslaught of The Brothers Scott. That's right -- One Tree Hill bounced Smallville from the bracket. Lucas had no problem beating Lex, but Clark put up more of a fight -- Nathan won by only 7.74%.

The big story is the incredible dominance of the Winchester boys. They destroyed the competition like it was an underpowered demon in a Devil's Trap. Derwin and Ben hardly know what hit them.

Now it's time for Round Two, and your votes will decide who advances. Can nice-guy Dan Humphrey hold off nice-but-possibly-evil-guy Sam Winchester? Will Nate Archibald be able to compete against Lucas Scott? Can Chuck Bass work his bad-boy magic against Nathan Scott? Does Malik Wright have a hope in hell against the juggernaut that is Dean Winchester? You pick the winners. Get voting now -- polls close Monday at 6 PM ET!

Sam Winchester (Supernatural) vs. Dan Humphrey (Gossip Girl)
Sam vs. Dan

Sam Winchester: Look, we could give you all sorts of reasons why Sam is the best: He’s mega-smart, he knows his way around a knife, he can take out armed SWAT guys with no trouble, and he tends to save the world. But we think the shot of Sam just out of the shower, clad only in a towel, speaks for itself. Yowza!
Dan Humphrey: Dan is totally our TV boyfriend – he’s smart, he’s sensitive, he’s funny, he’s sweet, and he knows how to treat a woman right. Obviously, he’s too good to be true. Still, we love swooning over him on our TV screens. Is he your choice, too?

Who's The Hottest of Them All? More Men of The CW!

We're back with another round of men from The CW's scripted shows in our ongoing hotness bracket! And yes, for the dozens of you who asked -- Dean Winchester is in this batch after the jump.

Get voting, and don't forget to vote for the first round of guys -- you still have time.

Group Three
Nathan Scott (One Tree Hill) vs. Clark Kent (Smallville)
Nathan vs. Clark

Nathan Scott: His recent swoon-inducing haircut is only one of the reasons we love Nathan. He's a loyal husband to Haley, a good pal to Lucas, and he's learning how to be a great dad for his son Jamie. Oh, and he looks great shirtless. Yeah, we're shallow like that...
Clark Kent: Dude: He’s Superman. What else do you need? OK, how’s this: Clark Kent is smokin’ hot, well-nigh invulnerable, and he saves the world a lot. Just don’t wear any green glowing jewelry when you’re around him, ok?

Who's The Hottest of Them All? Vote for The Men of The CW!

We're pitting the stars of The CW against each other in a battle of ultimate hotness, and we've got two brackets going, by gender. Last week we voted on Groups One and Two of the women, and now it's time for the men to have a go. So get voting, and be ready for more guys battling it out in the polls later this week.

Oh, and you can vote for the ladies until 5 PM CT today -- after that, we're going with whoever's ahead and closing the polls for Round One (the Lana/Blair race is still REALLY close!). There's still a week left for the guys to rise and fall, though, so get voting!

Group One Sam Winchester (Supernatural) vs. Derwin Davis (The Game) Sam vs. Derwin
Yowza!
Derwin Davis: This rising football star is one handsome hunk of manhood. He’s got money, looks, talent and charm – too bad about the cheating thing. We’re betting he learned his lesson after the disastrous breakup with Melanie. Are you willing to give him a chance?

Three more after the jump, so keep reading!

The Game: Mel Moves On... Sort Of

MelanieMelanie met a cute marketing exec while waitressing at the diner on last night's The Game. Okay, so it was a little contrived that they ended up at a Sabers game on their second date. But we still loved watching Mel freak out when she thought she was jumping right into another relationship... complete with girl bonding sessions like the Sunbeams! It was hilarious when she told Kelly and Tasha to pretend they didn't know her, prompting one of the best lines of the night from Kelly: "Okay, bye, young black girl that I don't know!"

Were you surprised that Jerry wasn't into a relationship? We could see where Mel was coming from; he was acting really into her, and he introduced her to some important clients right away. Anyway, we're glad that she's dating -- it's healthy!

What might not have been so healthy was seeing Derwin after the game. Those two can deny it all they want, but there's still chemistry there. Still, we like that Mel is at least trying to move on. Wonder if we'll see more of this new man...

Meanwhile, Tasha tried to help Malik with his PR woes, but it ended up backfiring, and Malik wasn't happy. Those two are a prime example of why business and family don't mix.

What about you -- did you like the episode? Do you want to see Mel and Jerry get more serious? Tell us in the comments!

The Game Recap: The Ghost of Derwin Past

Part Two: Who's The Hottest of Them All? Vote for More Women of The CW!

We're back with the next two rounds of ladies in our Who's The Hottest of Them All contest, where we pit some of The CW's most gorgeous stars against each other. If you haven't already, cast your vote for Groups One and Two! We'll narrow down the ladies' pool by half after this week, and you'll have your chance to vote for the men next week. Is it just us, or is it getting hot in here?

GROUP THREE

Lana Lang (Smallville) vs. Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)
Lana vs. Blair

Lana Lang: Lana Lang is the platonic ideal of the Girl Next Door – sweet, pretty, and someone all the boys pine for. Her winsome charms have entranced the world’s greatest superhero and the world’s most nefarious supervillain. Not bad for a small-town Kansas girl!
Blair Waldorf: Don’t let the prim-and-proper demeanor fool you – Gossip Girl’s Queen Bee knows how to let loose! She can go from presiding over a blue-blood brunch to spontaneously joining a burlesque show. That’s versatility! Just don’t cross her, ok? Blair knows how to make people pay!

The Game: Christmas Wishes

It’s a chaotic Christmas on The Game, complete with product placements, mixed signals and reversals of fortune. Plus, elves and reindeer!

Derwin’s star is on the rise – he goes from supporting player to sole star of a car commercial. Jason and Malik, who get booted from the commercial, are not pleased, but hey – they were pretty dreadful. Dionne was instrumental in getting Derwin the solo gig, so he wants to work with her again, despite their history. That’s not going to go over well with Melanie…

Christmas gets off to a rocky start for Tasha – first, she sees her son fired from the commercial, and she can’t fight for him, since he’s no longer his client. Then, she gets a totally impersonal Christmas card from Malik – he didn’t even bother to personalize the message! That doesn’t sit well with Tasha, so she has a heart-to-heart with her son, and all is well.

The Game Recap: Hookup Gone Wrong

Dear Santa: We Want These CW-Inspired Gifts!

The holiday season approaches, so our thoughts have turned to important matters like gifts, wish lists, and whether we've been naughty or nice – when we're not thinking about peace on earth and goodwill toward humanity, of course. We thought we'd share some of our holiday thoughts with you in hopes of lightening the gloom that comes with the holiday hiatus on some of your favorite shows.

Today, we’ve got our letter to Santa. Shut up! He does exist!

Dear Santa:

We've tried to be ever so good this year – we're giving fans exclusive interviews, we're not provoking riots among supporters of different characters, and we've hardly ever attempted to hotwire the Metallicar and drive off (except that one time, but come on, we're not saints!) So we hope we're on your Nice Kids list, and that you'd consider leaving us some CW-inspired gifts.

All we want for Christmas is:

* A resolution to the writers' strike, so they can get the residuals (and respect!) they deserve and we can get new episodes of our favorite shows!
* Bigger audiences and/or more network attention for our favorite brilliant-but-neglected shows like Supernatural, Aliens in America and The Game.
*, One Tree Hill to start already! Waiting until January is killing us!

The Game: Turkey Basting Bitches

Whoa! We've had a shortage of Mel and Derwin in the past few weeks as the storylines focused on the fallout from Malik's press debacle and Kelly and Jason's drama -- but not anymore. Last night, it was all Mel and Derwin, all the time. And things got nasty!

First, Derwin picked up a girl and conveniently ended up making out with her at a diner... where Mel was waiting tables. First painful moment! Then the insults were flying when Mel paid Derwin a surprise visit at his place. Her: Your place was cheesy and over-the-top! Him: Well, I can afford new things now that I'm not paying for your med school! Ouch.

The Game: Malik Fires Tasha!

Welcome to The Game – or, this week, the Tasha and Malik show, with a side of Kelly and Jason and fleeting appearances by those other two people – what were their names? Der-something? Mela-what?

Yeah, we missed Mel and Derwin, but we can’t really complain—they packed a whole lot of plot into a half-hour show, as always. We were cringing watching Tasha do damage control, that spun out into more damage. Oh, Tasha – it’s never good to compare your son and client to Jesus Christ. That’s never going to play well.

Still, we were shocked to see Irv try to swoop in and poach Malik – and even more shocked when Malik fired his mom! We think it did have to happen – Malik needs to grow up, separate himself from his mom – but that doesn’t mean it didn’t hurt to watch. That’s why we were thrilled to see Tasha doing well at the end – a new job, a hefty paycheck, benefits, and Irv put in his place. Don’t mess with Tasha Mack!

The Game Gets Serious

Malik gets madWe know The Game is technically a comedy, but it sure didn't feel that way on last night's episode. The episode was more cringeworthy than funny -- first, we had to watch poor Kelly mark herself up for plastic surgery in hopes of making herself more attractive to Jason. As if that wasn't bad enough, Malik found himself ensnarled in a PR nightmare that went from bad to worse without mom Tasha's help. And the end of the episode had not one, but two jaw-dropping moments: first, Jason FINALLY spilled to Kelly that he was on steroids. And second? Malik's suspended, and video footage of him punching that cartoonist in the wheelchair is being aired on every major TV station.

What'd you think of last night's episode? Vote in the polls and let us know!

The Game Recap: Jason Lies; Mel Gets Kicked Out

Whew! Last week's episode of The Game was pretty shocking. First, Jason lied to Kelly about why they weren't getting busy (honestly, she might have preferred the truth to this!). Then Mel led Derwin to think she slept with Malik... and THEN Tasha told Mel to find a new place to live. Check out Jason C.'s recap!
