Thanks for a Great Sourcies Season!

It's the start of another TV season on The CW, which means it's the end of another Sourcies season on The CW Source! This was the biggest Sourcies slate yet -- slightly too big, we discovered, and we had to drop a couple of categories at the last minute. (Sorry, awkward and FX fans...) We'll know better next time -- quality over quantity!

We had plenty of both quality and quantity in the voting -- but only a little bit of variation in the winners! Gossip Girl took the Fashion Guru category -- Chuck Bass would not be denied his moment in the sun. One Tree Hill prevailed in four categories: Hottest Moment, for Haley and Nathan gettin' it on with some slutty wedding sexy; Hooray! The Bitch is Back! for Victoria's bitchtastic performance; Most Dearly Departed for poor posthumous-cape-wearing Quentin, and Favorite Couple for Nathan and Haley.

But it was Supernatural that once again dominated the competition, taking a whopping 18 awards. Sam and Dean dominated Best Friends Forever Moment, Best Fight, Most Heartbreaking Moment and Most Dramatic Meltdown. Bobby Singer took Best Recurring Character and The Voice of Wisdom Award (although he only just squeaked by over Haley for that one.) Ruby got some recognition -- although most of it was bad. You awarded her and Sam the Most Unexpected Hookup title, crowned her hte queen of the I Love To Hate You Award, and reveled in her death in the Best Finally! It's About Time! Moment. Castiel dominated the Best Newcomer category, and Alastair took the Best Villain honors. The boys got some individual awards as well: You celebrated Sam's silky locks in the Best Hair category, and marveled at how far he fell in the Biggest WTF? Moment. Dean got recognition with the Best Kiss (lucky Anna!), and you declared his reaction to the fluffy little kitty the Funniest Moment. The show as a whole took Best Special Episode, Biggest Family Drama and Best Cliffhanger. Whew!

Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to a new season full of the great moments that fuel next year's Sourcies! Thanks for voting!

The Sourcies Celebrate Nail-Biting Cliffhangers

We're reaching the end of the summer, and that means we're wrapping up the Sourcies! Welcome to our final Sourcies category - Best Cliffhanger. We had plenty to choose from this year, what with Big Bads promising to bring the pain, and foolish actions promising to provide blackmail fodder this season. Take a look:

This final poll is open until Sept. 4, so get voting!

The Sourcies Are Listening for Pearls of Wisdom

We all need a friend who tells it like it is. You know the one: The one who tells you that yes, your butt does look big in those jeans, or no, that callous hottie you met isn't going to call. The truth hurts sometimes, but it's better to know, right? That's why The Sourcies nominate the following folks for The Voice of Wisdom Award. The truth may hurt sometimes, but that doesn't make it any less true. The nominees are:

Who's the wisest of them all? Your votes decide! The poll is open until Sept. 4, so get to it!

The Sourcies Are Shocked By These Massive Meltdowns

Sometimes very, very bad things happen to the folks on The CW -- and that leads to some very, very good television. Whether they're completely freaking out, exhibiting an icy calm that belies the turmoil underneath, or doing their best to burn every last bridge, we love watching these characters react -- and that's why this Sourcie celebrates the Most Dramatic Meltdowns this season. Check it out:

The poll closes on September 3, so get voting!

The Sourcies Love to Hate These Deliciously Nasty Characters!

The CW is overrun with people so delectably EEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL that we can't help but adore them for their very nastiness. And that's what this Sourcie, the "I Love To Hate You Award," celebrates. The nominees are:

Dan Scott
One Tree Hill
Granted, Dan has been much less eeeeeeeevil in recent seasons -- it's been ages since he, say, shot his brother, drove his wife to drugs or tormented the ones he (theoretically) loved. But the residual badness in Dan's bones makes us love to hate him so very much. That's one of the reasons we loved the Film Noir episode -- it gave Dana chance to be the unrepentant villain we all most he wants to be. Bliss!
  The Devil
Reaper

In this case, the paradigm has changed a bit. Here's someone we hate to admit we absolutely love. He's the Devil! Evil Incarnate! Source of human misery! All-around bad dude! But... he's so charming! And funny! And he looks so darn dapper in those suits! And he's RAY WISE! How can you not love this guy? And then he breaks out the demons and the soul crushing and the tormenting Sam and the stealing Andi's soul and all the rest, and you remember -- he's the Devil! Arghhh!

Lily van der Woodsen Bass
Gossip Girl

Ah, Lily, the most frustrating parent on the face of the planet. She's the queen of dubious decision-making, and she's always willing to blame Serena for things she's done herself. She manages to make it All! About! Lily! all the time, whether she's attending a friend's seder (not the time for unannounced guests, Lily!), smooching her lover in public while her hubby's body is hardly cold, or having Serena thrown in jail (!!!) for something she didn't do. Boo! Hiss!
  Naomi Clark
90210

Naomi isn't really eeeeeevil, per se -- but she's still plenty of fun to hate. She's just so deliciously bitchy! Whether she's ostracizing Annie for something she did or didn't do, plagiarizing others' work to get ahead in school, or establishing herself as the Queen Bee of West Bev with a cutting remark or underhanded act, we love watching her every move. In fact, we love her so much more when she's at one with her mean girl nature. Come on, Naomi -- embrace the Dark Side!

Ruby
Supernatural

Ruby led Sam -- and us -- on a wild ride this season. She almost -- almost! -- made us beleive that she was working on the side of good -- until the very last moment of hte last episode. She led Sam into killing Lilith to set Lucifer free -- and then rubbed salt in his wounds by telling him that he made all those choices by himself. That's why it was so satisfying to see her gut-stabbed in the final episode. Rest in Torment, Ruby!

The Sourcies Were Gobsmacked by These WTF?!? Moments

We were all set to do a long, involved post describing the setup for each of these scenarios... and then we realized a simple description spoke for itself. Without further ado, The Sourcies presents the nominees for the Biggest WTF?!? Moment of the last season:

Polls close August 28, so get voting!

The Sourcies are Sobbing Over These Heartbreaking Moments!

Whimper! Weep! SOB! Our favorite shows gave us plenty of reasons to break out the tissues this season. (Heck, I even started sniffling when I went to post this category!) Take a look at the clips and let us know which moment affected you the most:

The poll is open until August 26, so get voting!

The Sourcies Adore These Luscious Locks

We here at CW Source Central know a god head of hair when we see it -- and we see a lot of them on our favorite shows! That's why this Sourcie celebrates the Best Hair on the CW. Here's who you nominated:

Annie Wilson: 90210

The 90210 crowd may be all about image and spa days --but it took a kid from Kansas to show them what great hair really looks like. Perhaps she uses Mane and Tail shampoo?

Blair Waldorf: Gossip Girl

This is a woman who knows how to rock the hair accessories -- hats, headbands, tiaras -- but still looks great without any embellishment at all. Heck, even her henchgirls are named after a hair accessory!

Peyton Sawyer-Scott: One Tree Hill

Whether she's sporting her signature curls, a gentler wave, or a straight-on effect. Peyton knows how to use her crowning glory to its best effect. And we loved her lightened-up look in the Film Noir episode!

Sam Winchester: Supernatural

Sam's hair is practically a character in and of itself. It flops in his face when he's feeling vulnerable, gets slicked back when he's all business, and works with those puppy-dog eyes when he needs to persuade someone. Potent stuff!

Tyra Banks: America's Next Top Model

We don't always agree with what Tyra does to the competitors' hair -- we're STILL wondering what she was thinking with Saleisha -- but we have to admit this model knows how to make her own hair fierce.

So who's got the best hair? Your votes decide! Polls close Aug. 24, so get voting!

August 14, 2009

The Sourcies Bring the Family Drama!

We here at CW Source Central are considering calling our parents right now and thanking them -- because no matter how bad things were during the teenage years, at least we never had to go through any of the Family Drama the Sourcies are seeing right now! Take a look to see what we mean:

So which family drama was the biggest and best? That's up to you to decide! Polls are open until August 21, so get voting!

August 10, 2009

The Sourcies are Loving These Smooches!

We love a good liplock here at CW Source Central, which is why we've been waiting for Best Kiss to hit the Sourcies! Which of these serious smooches set your pulse pounding?

Polls are open until August 17, so get voting!

August 6, 2009

The Sourcies Love Seeing These Characters Again and Again!

It's not just the stars who bring us to our favorite shows -- it's also those folks who keep showing up over and over again that keep us coming back. This time out, the Sourcies celebrate those recurring characters who continually knock our socks off. Which one thrills you the most? Polls close August 12, so get voting!

Bobby
Supernatural

Bobby may be the closest thing Sam and Dean have to a (living) father on Supernatural. That's not to say he's touchy-feely – he's more likely to call them idjits or douse them with holy water than go in for a group hug. But he's wise to the ways of demons, knows his way around a shotgun, has a bank of phones for confirming false identities, and has a demon-proof panic room in the basement. Trust The Bobby, for The Bobby is awesome!
  Georgina
Gossip Girl

After plenty of evil action in season one, Georgina returned in season two “transformed.” We loved seeing how kinder, gentler Georgina made everyone's head explode – but we were even more thrilled to see her return to her deliciously evil ways. “You can tell Jesus that the Bitch is back,” she says – and we cheered. We can't wait to see what happens when Blair finds out who she's rooming with at NYU.

Liam
90210

Oh Liam… you’re such a naughty boy. And you brought just the right bad-boy energy to our favorite zip code. How can you not love a bartending high school student, a sensitive-artist adrenaline junkie, and a smart, sexy hunk of man? We're not alone in being smitten – Naomi, Annie and Jen are all being drawn into your orbit. We can't wait for the drama!
  Rami
Privileged

Rami, he feisty butler on Privileged, is quite jealous of Megan’s special attention (a personal chef, for example) as tutor. While she makes valiant attempts at friendly conversation, he coldly rebuffs her in a style that would make Geoffrey, the snooty butler in Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, proud.

Sam
One Tree Hill

When we first met Sam, she was shoplifting form Brooke, causing trouble for Haley in school, living in a shop-class car, and generally making life difficult for the denizens of Tree Hill. Who knew she's become a beloved family member? Brooke breaks through to this troubled foster kid when she takes her in – and Sam returns the favor by getting Brooke to realize she's ready for love. Plus, Sam is the only person able to tell Victoria to stop being a beeyotch. It's like she's got super powers!

The Sourcies Were Shocked by These Hot Hookups!

Oh my! We here at Sourcies Central are shocked at these out-of-nowhere hookups. How did these people end up bumping uglies -- and which one amazed you the most? Heck out the nominees below:

Congratulations to Supernatural, which took the Best Special Episode category for Monster Movie. Which will take this award? Your votes decide! Polls are open until August 10, so vote now!

The Sourcies Gets the Giggles with Funniest Moment

Bwah! Sorry, we're still laughing as we relive some of the CW's funniest moments of the season for this Sourcie. See if you can keep a straight face as you check out the nominees:

Which moment tickled your funny bone the most? Your votes decide! Polls close on August 7, so get voting!

The Sourcies Get Villainous, Plus a Plea to Play Nice

The Sourcies is taking a look at the great CW villains ... and worrying a little bit about villains in our own midst.

Here's the deal, folks: We want this to be fun for everyone. We've tended to shrug off complaints about cheating, since it looked like it could go either way. But recently, the evidence has been pretty damning that someone is gaming the system. We've tried adding another layer of poll security, and we'll see how that goes. If suspicious activity keeps up, we may have to take other measures, which could suck some of the fun out of the Sourcies. We don't want to do that. We expect you to play nice with each other. Don't make me turn this Sourcies car around!

Ahem. Moving on: We've got a collection of the biggest bad-ass villains to grace the CW screens this past season. Which is the biggest bad of all? Your votes (which, again, I would hope would be one per person, with no technological skullduggery) will decide. Polls are open until August 5, so vote now!

Alastair
Supernatural

Alastair, head torturer of souls in Hell, is "Picasso with a razor" -- and he certainly knows how to cause both physical and emotional anguish. Not only did he torture Dean for the equivalent of 40 years in Hell, he also convinced Dean to start carving up souls himself - and that was what kick-started the Apocalypse. This makes him a certified bad-ass.
  Doomsday
Smallville

This is the alien ass-kicker who killed Superman in the comics... and caused a fair bit of angst on the show. The son of Zod and Faora, Doomsday was sent to earth to destroy. It used Davis Bloom as a host body, came out to rip people to shreds, and even broke up Jimmy and Chloe's wedding. The final battle was less doomalicious than we would have hoped, but he still managed to kick Clark's butt a bit.

Jen
90210

We thought Naomi was a bad girl – but then we met her sister! Jen took Ethan's virginity, stole the valedictorian spot in high school and schemed her way through West Bev. But that's nowhere near as evil as when she tricks Liam into sleeping with her. Naomi suspected Annie of the crime, and turns to her sister for comfort. Jen is happy to give it – especially now that she's put her sister into place.
  Poppy Lifton
Gossip Girl

Poppy seems like nothing more than a publicity-bait socialite... but she's not what she seems. She's a fauxcialite who's out to bilk the rich out of their hard earned (or hard-inherited) cash, working in conjunction with Gabriel. She even had the gall to show up at Lily's apartment and gloat! We hope that whatever Georgina did to her, it hurt.

Xavier
One Tree Hill

Jack Daniel's brother was basically the source of all evil on One Tree Hill this season -- he's the one who beat Brooke in her store and stole her drawing, who killed Q, and who kidnapped and menaced Sam. His actions left everyone reeling in Tree Hill -- and made us glad when he was finally put behind bars.

The Sourcies Celebrate Special Episodes

We're recovering from Comic Con with more Sourcialicious goodness! This time, we're taking on the Best Special Episode -- eps that stretched the boundaries of what we expect from our favorite shows. Check out the nominees below!

Which will win? Your votes (one apiece, please!) decide! Polls close on August 3, so get voting!

Let's take a moment to congratulate One Tree Hill's Victoria for winning the "Hooray! The Bitch is Back!" category. Congrats!

The Sourcies Mourn The CW's Dearly Departed

The Sourcies has its black armband on in honor of The Most Dearly Departed: those characters whose death -- or departures -- shook us to the core. We're still mourning the loss of these fine CW citizens.

But before we remember our dead and/or gone, let's take a moment to celebrate the living -- especially those who lived through the Favorite Fashion Guru competition! In a stunning upset, Gossip Girl's Chuck Bass narrowly edged out One Tree Hill's Brooke Davis for the crown. Wow! We didn't see that coming -- Brooke had a commanding lead through the first part of the competition. But whatever Chuck did, he did it well, and he squeaked out a win. Was it the orange separates? The burgundy smoking jackets? The ascots? The short-shorts? We'll never know, but Chuck, we salute you. Brooke -- we're sorry you didn't win the competition, but we're sure Chuck would be willing to console you for your defeat.

Now onto the competition. Which of these dead and/or departed folks do you miss the most? Your votes will decide. Polls are open until July 29 at noon, so get voting!

Jimmy Olson
Smallville

Jimmy had a bad year -- his dream wedding was interrupted by an intergalactic killing machine obsessed with his new bride, his wife was covering for a murderer, and he picked up a drug habit to boot. But that was nothing compared to the way Jimmy died at the hands of a rage-filled Davis Bloom. What's more, Jimmy wasn't even really Jimmy. How's that for an insult from beyond the grave?
  Quentin Fields
One Tree Hill

Oh, Q! He was finally turning into a really good guy -- helping Nathan with his comeback, being a boon to the team, and being downright adorable with Jamie. That's why his senseless death -- at the hands of the man who beat up Brooke and kidnapped Sam -- was so shocking. Of course, we consoled ourselves with his ghostly presence for much of the season. RIP, Q

Bart Bass
Gossip Girl

Let's face it: Bart was not a nice man. He tormented his son, alienated his new wife, and kept dossiers on the entire family. But you have to admit that his sudden death shook the Gossip Girl universe -- and sent Chuck on a downward spiral that it took him a long time to recover from.
  Pamela Barnes
Supernatural

We loved Pamela -- she was the perfect cheeky, hard-rocking medium who wouldn't back down from a fight-- even when her eyes were burned out by an angel. Plus, even after her misfortune, she still knew how to seize the pleasure in life by seizing Sam's ass. THat's why her death -- and her dying words -- hurt us so much. "Tell Bobby to go to Hell?" Oof.

Charlie Hogan
Privileged

OK, fine, Charlie didn't actually die. Bur we still went into mourning when we learned that sweetheart Charlie was leaving Privileged. Yes, we liked Megan better with Will, but come on! It was Michael Cassidy! We adore him!

The Sourcies Are Bringing Bitchy Back

Sure, we like good girls, sweet ladies and women of character. But sometimes, what we at the CW Source really want is to settle in and watch an unrepentant, deliciously evil bee-yotch slice her way through the assembled masses. That's why this timeout, we're bringing out the Hooray! The Bitch is Back! category for The Sourcies. Check out the wicked women right here:

In other news, congratulations to Supernatural for winning the Best Finally! It's About Time! Moment category. They faced a strong battle this time out, but managed to fend off both One Tree Hill's long-awaited Lucas/Peyton wedding and Gossip Girl's glorious Chuck/Blair reunion. Will they be as lucky this time out? Only you can decide that -- get voting!

Is It Hot In Here, Or Is It Just The Sourcies?

The Sourcies bring the Yowza! this time out with a competition you're sure to enjoy: Hottest Moment. We've gathered a bunch of knee-buckling scenes from your favorite CW shows -- and it's up to you to choose which one sizzles the most. Check it out!

So which scene is the hottest? Your votes decide! Polls close July 24 at noon, so get voting!

Congratulations to Sam and Dean, who won the Best Friends Forever category with 60 percent of the vote. Brooke and Peyton made a strong showing, but the Winchester boys would not be denied!

The Sourcies Strike a Pose with CW Fashion Gurus

We're practicing our pout for this week's Sourcies: Favorite Fashion Guru! The competition is fierce -- and so are the looks! This is going to be a tough one!

But we'll give our competitors time to prepare their best looks while we congratulate the winners of last week's Sourcie. Nathan and Haley dominated the Best Couple competition, bringing in 66 percent of the vote. Wow! Chuck and Blair made a stand, but all their scheming, backstabbing and hotness couldn't withstand the years of wedded bliss, true understanding and hotness that Naley brought to the game. As for the other three couples -- well, Megan and Will, Naomi and Liam and Mel and Derwin only got about 6 percent of the vote between them. Ouch.

Will this new contest be as much of a rout? We've got some stunning fashion on tap, so let's get to it! Check out the competition after the jump!

Finally! The Sourcies Have Been WAITING For This!

We're back with more Sourcies! Congrats to Sam and Dean, who fended off strong competition to win the Best Fight category. One Tree Hill's Brooke kicked and clawed her way into contention, but in the end, the combined might of the Winchester boys was too much for her. Personally, we like C.O.'s suggestion in the comments: "I think we need to get Sophia Bush over to the Supernatural set so she can kick butt with both Sam and Dean, and this way the next Sourcie fight scene will be a no brainer!" Now THAT would be something we'd like to see!

But enough about that -- now we've FINALLY made it to the FINALLY! It's About Time! category of The Sourcies! We've been waiting ages for all of our nominees to make some specific leap, and when they did? Oooooooh, it was sweet. Check out the nominees below:

<

So what do you think? Will the Supernatural boys take this again, or will the wedding of the century fight back? Or could Chuck and Blair's long-awaited kiss surprise everyone and take the category? Your votes decide! Polls are open until July 20, so get to it!

And just as a reminder, you can still vote for Best Couple and Best Friends Forever Moment. Check it out!
