House Conquers the World
It's official -- cranky docs rule! We all know that we love House (yes, the show and the man), and now it's clear we're not alone: ratings agency Eurodata TV Worldwide has declared House the most popular TV show in the world in 2008. He gets more than 81.8 million viewers the world over. Wow! That's a lot of people who now know that it's never, ever lupus! What's more, House trounced the numbers from the previous years' winners, CSI and CSI: Miami. Apparently, the world prefers to watch someone almost kill a person (usually), not poke at someone who's already dead.
So what do you think makes House so popular? The cast? The writing? The mysterious, often disgusting, maladies? The interplay between the characters? Or is it a sum of all these things?
Whatever it is that makes the world watch, we want more of it. Congratulations to the cast and crew of House for creating such a world-beating show. We can't wait to see where you'll take us next season!
