House Big Bad Bracket

house bracket copy copy.jpgWelcome to the House Big Bad Bracket, where we pit characters, concepts, plot devices and inanimate objects against each other to determine who (or what) was the biggest bad-ass of the season.

Just like its Fringe counterpart, the House bracket we pairs competitors up in a single-elimination contest, much like the famed NCAA basketball bracket. You vote on who you think would win each pairing. The winner advances to the next round, while the loser retires to lick his/hers/its literal and metaphysical wounds.

You'll notice a few notable omissions from the line-up. We didn't include the main characters, for a couple of reasons. First of all, what's the point of pitting anyone up against House or Cuddy? It's no contest! Second, we didn't include the leading minions of House in the Big Bad Bracket because, quite frankly, we didn't want to start World War III. We're wimpy that way.

With that out of the way, check out the first House Big Bad Bracket. Vote for your favorites, and see who or what advances to the next round! This week, we're starting with the first eight competitors in Group One. The polls close next week, and we move on to Group Two, so get voting!

Secret exotic travel
How often is the mystery solved by discovering that the patient was somewhere in the tropics and forgot to mention that little fact? It's always the root cause of whatever they're suffering from.

Breaking in to patients' homes
The answer to the mystery illness lies somewhere under the kitchen sink in the homes of all the patients -- or so the team seems to believe.

Co-dependence
It's all over this show, but most powerfully displayed in the completely codependent relationship between Wilson and House.

Cute children as patients
House has a heart of stone - a heart of STONE. But we've seen it melted a few times by adorable waifs in hospital beds.

Patient lies
The patient always lies - sometimes the lie is the key to everything. Sometimes it's a red herring. Always potent though!

Wilson's ex-wives
Wilson is a brave, brave man - but his ex-wives manage to bring him to his knees. Sometimes, the mere mention of his ex-wives will bring him to his knees

Mind games
Never underestimate House's ability to mess with your head just to get what he wants.

Loved-one lies
Ah, those adoring loved-ones hanging out in the patient's room, getting under foot. Sometimes they have the most stunning secrets.
