Fringe - There's More Than One of Everything (Again)

208_august_0116.jpgThe theme this week on Fringe seems to be something along the lines of "there's more than one of everything" or "there's nothing special about most people." How depressing is that? We did get to learn more about  The Observer(s), which is great. Apparently there's more than one Observer, and one of them is named August. Of course, just as soon as we start to feel empathy for poor August, he dies.

And the episode ends with another Observer making dire comments about "her" future - but we're left wondering if the her in question was Olivia or her adorable niece. They'd better not make that little girl's life miserable. If they do, we'll have to drive to their offices and give them a strong talking-to. We heart her.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves. More after the jump.

Things We Liked

It was fun seeing the table-full of Observers sitting down to a meal of hot sauce and pepper flakes (on top of something else presumably, but still).

It was fun seeing Walter be friendly with the Observer. Talk about two social misfits just trying to make themselves understood!

We always adore Olivia's niece. She's cute as a button, but still a good actress on top of that.

The Observer may be able to catch bullets on bullet time, but did we see Peter do something kinda superhuman himself? We mean, that was quite the stunt pushing the gun away from his own head and turning around. Oof.

Observers don't have feelings? Woah. How old are they? What did he die of, exactly. We can't wait to find out more.

Things we didn't like

Was it really necessary to kidnap the woman so she wouldn't get on a particular airplane? We miss planes all the time for far less dramatic reasons.

Too many mysteries. The Observers are weird. Trickling out information about them is killing us.

They kept stressing how the kidnap-ee was nobody special. Unique maybe, but not special. What does that even mean?

We have to wait for another episode!
