House - Complications

NUP_136744_0261.JPG
So, evidence that House has truly changed and is a whole new man is right there in that photo up there -- see it? Nah, we think he was a Mac user before rehab. No, he usually breaks down and talks to the patient eventually. Look closely.... yep, that's House's cane right there. Not just touched by someone else, but held by a patient. Granted, she's using it as a drumstick, and that might make it okay to both the old House and the new House. But what matters is that he handed it to her to let her try. (She failed. Her arms soon stopped working because her potassium was too low.) Yes, it's the little things that make us happy. More after the jump.

Don't worry, we'll spare you our attempts at singing anything from The Sound of Music. Especially since we haven't found any photos yet from the lovely, lovely 80's party which was just as great as we were led to believe by the promos.

It started with a rubix cube cake (solved, of course) and ended with med scool dayz confessions. The costumes were hilarious. We were in heaven. We had a big debate (still raging) about whether House's costume was a nod to Black Adder or Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Also being debated (yes, we think a lot about the big issues here) is whether Cuddy's costume was supposed to reference Flashdance or the Head Over Heels music video from the Go-Gos. It most definitely wasn't a nod to Olivia Newton-John, no matter what the drunk Ghostbuster said.

Said party happened at a medical convention where other wackiness abounded as well. Wilson planned to give a paper in favor of euthanasia, but House drugged his buddy and read the paper for him -- but not using his real name. So no one committed career suicide after all.

After House confesses that he really liked Cuddy in med school, but got expelled from the school before he could tell her, we find out Lucas the PI (from last season, when House was trying to figure out what was going on with Wilson) maybe kinda sorta is making a move on Cuddy. He's certainly having a lot of fun acting all fatherly for Cuddy's baby.

And the final big moment is Chase admitting to Cameron that he engineered the death of the dictator in their care lo these many episodes ago. The Cameron we know would say "Oh. Is that all? I tried it myself." But she's been a tad unpredictable this season, so who knows what will happen next week.

Yes, there was a patient this week. No, it wasn't a very important part of the episode. We give it a big shrug.

Cuddy's next love interest needs to be Cameron. I'm thinking they can mine a season and a half's worth of angst out of that one, at bare minimum.
