SYTYCD: Audience Participation
Tonight we got eight engrossing performances on So You Think You Can Dance, and now it's up to the audience to point the finger at who will be on the chopping block tomorrow. We have to say wow, what a wide range of material! We were blown away a few times, worried a lot more. We were really hoping there would be another stunner like the Bollywood piece from last week, but we're forced to admit that we just weren't all that stunned this week.
So, in honor of audience voting finally opening up, we're going to go right ahead and list the performances we liked most to least in order of our preference -- starting with that one right up there.
Karen and Kevin were a ton of fun to watch -- doing the hustle of all things. We usually like these guys, but tonight they were especially great as they really had the chemistry. We swoon!
Now, vote in our poll, then see our own personal rankings after the jump.

Yes, we were so impressed by Kevin and Karen we put them ahead of Russell and Noelle. But here is our predictably favorite couple in our own personal number two spot. They did an adorable AfroJazz routine wherein Noelle kissed a frog. We heart it. Noelle did a surprisingly good job of being an African princess and once again Russell exploded off the stage with adorableness.
This jazz performance from Ashleigh and Jakob may have been higher on our list except that we were so confused by the costumes. Was this supposed to be a '60s era British seduction, or an '80s throwback? Why that cane, and not something.... well... cooler? Even House has cooler canes than this. However, we have to admit the old-man-cane was used beautifully in this jazz routine. Adam Shankman praised them for not losing it when there was a minor cane difficulty, and the other two judges chimed in to say they hadn't even noticed it. Jakob suavely argued that no such difficulty actually occurred. We're starting to like him more.
And on the other hand, check this one out...
Right, that would be Ryan and Ellenore being hip-hop bank robbers. The routine was by 'Lil C (yay! we missed him!) and Ellenore did really well. Ryan on the other hand.... well, they kept saying he was having a hard time finding his swagger. It showed. Poor ballroom dancer. Hip-hop is hard. We wonder if he's popular enough to sail through (yes, we agree he's usually hot) or if tonight's missteps will be enough to get him booted tonight. That would be weird.
And speaking of weird...
Yep. We adored Nathan and Mollee last week, and they're both just such cute people all the way through. Well, this week they got the salsa and it just. Didn't. Work. No. Um... no.
Neither party was particularly sexy. They both just struggled through the whole performance. We hate to say it, because we loved them so much last week, and we don't know how forgiving the judges will be if they get hold of them tomorrow.
We can't wait to see how this one turns out!

why didnt you talk about Channing and Victor? They had a beautiful piece that was better than that awful hip hop and that awful salsa.
