FOX Fans: Defend the Hottness Honor of Your Favorite Stars!

Have you been itching for a chance to show your devotion to your favorite FOX characters? Now you have not one but two chances to do just that!

The fine folks at KDVR in Denver are hosting a Battle of the FOX Hotties as we speak. Right now, the Women's bracket is up, but you can still vote in the Men's bracket as well. The second phase of the Men's competition launches Friday, and the second round of Women's matches goes up on Tuesday, February 18 -- so get voting!

Then there's an all networks battle to the death over at the South Florida Sun Sentinel, where CW stars are going up against the juggernauts from the other four broadcast networks. The Bad Boys division (which includes Puck and Peter Bishop -- and Puck is currently losing) is already off the front page, but you can still vote. Keep checking this page throughout the next month to support your fave stars!

* We know, we know -- there are those among you who sneer at such things, who protest that we should focus on the content of the shows and the nuances of the acting rather than the exterior facade of the people who bring our favorite characters to life. And we like to think we do that here... but that doesn't stop us from being able to celebrate the aesthetic pleasures these folks bring to bear. Are we shallow? Maybe. But we are having fun!

Bravo, you! We should buy you a drink the next time we see you. You've earned it.

Loved that there were three guest judges and that each of the judges was allowed to pick at least one routine from the season for us to see again. It's almost impossible. It was lovely to finally see Ashleigh and Ryan dance together. At last! They were so tender and great together, even if we did want to see them do a cha-cha rather than a contemporary piece. And also a quick interview with the costuming department to tell us why she was in not one, but two nighties tonight.

We don't know what Nigel's talking about when he says that he still thinks Ashleigh has better chemistry with Jakob than she does with Ryan. We almost wonder if there's something about Ryan that rankles Nigel a bit. We also think that both Ryan and Jakob do a fantastic job of partnering with all of the female dancers and that chemistry is something they both project in spades, regardless of dance partner.

SO there is a lot to think about this week. All the performances are in. Tomorrow a single winner will be announced.

Because you are.

Mollee has just exploded and shined for her last 4 routines in the last 2 weeks. It's been so gratifying to watch her grow and grow up. We wanted to go give her a big squeeze when she was so crestfallen but obviously concentrating on being gracious and a good sport. Her heartfelt thanks to the judges just about broke our heart and we were a tiny bit bewildered that she was the pick to go home after that lovely Viennese waltz and the Broadway number. Ouch. The judges had to figure out which two dancers to cut from what will be a national, city-by-city tour, but they could only choose from the three couples who didn't get enough votes to make them safe. Then, individually, each dancer had an opportunity to convince the judges to keep them on via a solo routine.

Some did better than others. We're down to 12 people -- six amazing couples -- and multiple performances tonight that gave us chills. This cut could be one of the most painful of the season. There are some amazing dancers up there on that stage, and as Adam Shankman said, it's a pleasure to sit here and watch them do their thing.

Sure, not every number knocked our socks off, but each couple had a chance to perform twice tonight, and if they were a little forgetable in one piece they were amazing in the next. It's just not! Sigh. All we could do was stare quizzically at our screen during the entire performance above on So You Think You Can Dance. Sure, they're supposed to be statues in a museum, but then... what? Weird. But the judges and audience seemed to love it, so yay.

And then it was two contemporary dancers vs. a hip hop guy for the male solos. Once again, we just didn't get it. We enjoyed Kevin's performance. It was impressive. (Though none of them were as impressive as in their auditions.) But apparently the two contemporary dancers impressed the judges more. Grrr.

On the other hand, everyone agreed the Bollywood exhibition dancers were fabulous.
We're down to just seven couples on So You Think You Can Dance, and things are getting tough. We loved so many of them, we can't really guess who will be at the bottom. Sure, the judges expressed their opinions, but we thought they were crazy. More on that later. We're going to give you photos once again, in order of what we thought were best to not-so-best. It's so tough this week, though. We thought everyone was great.

But greatest was Ryan and Ellenore with their contemporary routine. They didn't do so great last week, so there was probably some extra incentive there, but they even made us like contemporary. We who haven't been big fans of that genre up till now were glued to the screen, drinking it all in. Fabulous!

More photos after the jump.

SYTYCD: The Great And Powerful Public Has Spoken

Wednesday's So You Think You Can Dance was the first live results show of the season and it had some real surprises. The opening cast-wide number was fun in a sort of Scorpion King meets Road Warrior way. What's amazing to us was given how the costumes obscured most of the dancer's identities unless the viewer really concentrated, Russell (yes, he's still our fave) and Ryan really popped on camera.

We were lulled into a sense of security by the Judge's comments Tuesday night, two of whom thought that Nathan and Mollee were the couple who needed to be most worried. So much pish posh! Apparently Nathan's adoring fans kept the couple safe. He certainly garnered his share of squealing from the audience.

SYTYCD: Audience Participation

Tonight we got eight engrossing performances on So You Think You Can Dance, and now it's up to the audience to point the finger at who will be on the chopping block tomorrow. We have to say wow, what a wide range of material! We were blown away a few times, worried a lot more. We were really hoping there would be another stunner like the Bollywood piece from last week, but we're forced to admit that we just weren't all that stunned this week.

So, in honor of audience voting finally opening up, we're going to go right ahead and list the performances we liked most to least in order of our preference -- starting with that one right up there.

Karen and Kevin were a ton of fun to watch -- doing the hustle of all things. We usually like these guys, but tonight they were especially great as they really had the chemistry. We swoon!

Now, vote in our poll, then see our own personal rankings after the jump.

SYTYCD - Say It Isn't So

This week as we watched So You Think You Can Dance, we were pretty grumbly about everything from costumes to baseball to who had to dance for their lives. But only because we have such high expectations and affection for the whole shebang. (How can you not love a show that produces scenes like the above -- thanks, Jakob and Ashleigh!)

This time the judges once again chose who went home, thanks to the World Series -- apparently this national pastime thing takes up so much primetime they can't fit in a results show again this week. Whatever. It's not so bad when the judges completely agree with us, but when we have irreconcilable differences with them -- like tonight -- we're left shaking our fists at the sky and plaintively asking "Why??? Why couldn't this have been left to a phone vote!?!"

Tell us in the poll (and comments!) if we were all alone in these sentiments tonight. More after the poll and the jump.

SYTYCD - First Elimination Round

Oh Brandon. Brandon, Brandon, Brandon. We barely knew you. Seriously, you were put into a pretty impossible position and we were sad to see you cut from So You Think You Can Dance before you really had a chance to show us what you could do. Eliminations from the top 20 started tonight, but it wasn't a matter of voting from the audience -- the judges chose which guy and which girl was sent packing.

At the end, we had no idea which two women would have to dance for their lives, but alas, we were pretty sure you would be on the chopping block. You and Pauline were an absolutely adorable couple. You had some of the best chemistry, and we enjoyed watching your waltz, but in a year where everyone else knocks it out of the ballpark every time... well... sorry. We look forward to seeing you next year, if the rules get bent enough that we can do that.

More after the poll. And the jump.
