What kind of accent does the mall murderer have?

About a week ago on an episode of America’s Most Wanted, the show focused on the heinous murder of Nancy Bochicchio and her daughter Joey Bachicchio-Hauser at Town Center in Boca Raton.

Another victim who along with her small child survived after being kidnapped earlier by the same man talked about her terrifying experience.

A drawing of him based on what she remembers was shown. But we weren’t told what kind of accent he has.

Everyone has an accent and the more information that is given out, the sooner someone will identify this man.

Does he speak with an American accent? If so, what kind? A foreign accent? what kind?

All of his identifying characteristics need to be given to the public...and now.

Before you get in your car, check the cargo area

Someone could be inside your car watching as you approach. They could easily slide over the seat from the cargo area into the back seat or vice-versa. Chances are with darkened windows, you’d never notice.

Open up the cargo door, passenger door and driver door and give everything a visual check before you put anyone in or get in the car.

Even if your car has been valet parked, make sure the cargo area is checked before you leave.

WAYS TO BE MORE SAFE:

* Attach two adhesive-backed mirrors to the ceiling back in the cargo area. Be sure they are large enough to reflect the entire cargo space. You can add mirrors over the back seat too. Then when you open the car door, you can see all of the car at once.

* Lock your car doors bur remember car locks can be picked just the same as any other lock. You probably wouldn't even notice any difference when you clicked the remote to unlock the car door.

* Practice and plan ahead what you should do if you encounter someone. It's scary but nearly as scary as the real thing.

* Let's watch out for each other. If something doesn’t look or feel right don’t worry about being wrong or looking foolish - react - call 911 immediately.

Do you have any thoughts on how to make cars, shopping centers, and the many others places we go safer?

Where are Delray's public tennis courts?

For those of us who like tennis, finding a park with tennis courts is not easy. Up north nearly every park includes several tennis courts.

Granted some communities have tennis courts. And there are beautiful facilities at the Delray Beach Tennis Center and the Swim and Tennis Club in Delray Beach. But it gets expensive to play there.

Delray has spent millions of dollars building upgrading and building new parks. Why not add tennis courts to some of them instead of always adding a playground…many playgrounds are in areas where very few children live.

How about asking residents who live near parks being built or upgraded what features they'd most like to see installed? I imagine the people who pay for these parks would like some say about what's going in them.

Listed below are a few places in our area where you can currently play tennis at no charge:

Caloosa Park
1300 S.W. 35th Ave., Boynton Beach

South County Regional Park
11200 Park Access Road, Boca Raton

Veterans Park
9400 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton
