A young man got caught with his pants down

You may have read in the paper, or heard on the news, that a young man and members of his family were arrested at the Mall at Wellington Green. And, now there is talk about racism, use of force, discrimination and lawsuits.

All of this peripheral stuff obscures a simple fact: the young man was prohibited from being at the Mall due to his lack of conformity to the Mall's request to "hitch up his britches." He was told that if he were to return he would be trespassing and the Sheriff's office would be called to enforce the trespass order.

He came, the Sheriff's office was called, responded and attempted to execute the arrest for violating the trespass order. Then things got a little messy.

Maybe there were insults hurled back and forth. I don't know as I wasn't there. But an undeniable fact is that a Sheriff's deputy was struck several times by the young man's family.

Not sure about you, but, in my opinion, when a law enforcement officer is assaulted during the performance of his official duties, they have the responsibility to arrest those who broke the law.

I understand this family is from Haiti. Would they have argued or struck a law enforcement officer there? I think not as the end result would not be an arrest, but rather a beating or even death. If they were lucky, I suspect they would receive serious jail time in one of Haiti's prisons, which would make our maximum security prisons here look like kindergarten.

I really don't go to the mall that often (I'm a guy ... shopping isn't in my DNA), but when I do I am put-off by the lack of self esteem and modesty by many today.

As the father of a teenage girl, I have to think sometimes, what the heck are these parents thinking?

Take a few examples --

The tight sweatpants that have words like "sexy" or "juicy" on the butt?

How about the thong underwear sticking out over those low-cut jeans?

What is with jeans hanging so low that someone's entire butt is above the belt line?

Whose idea was it that wearing "wifebeater" t-shirts was ok as normal attire?

Or that nice woman that lives down the street wearing a t-shirt that says, "Got MILF?"

And please, please tell me why its OK to wear short shorts and a short tank top with spaghetti straps that exposes more skin than is covered?

Don't get me wrong ... I am not some old fuddy duddy or prude ... but come on now people, can't we leave just a little to the imagination?

But I digress ... back to the subject at hand.

The young man's rights end where mine begin. He does not have the right to resist arrest by force. He does not have the right to willfully resist a no trespassing order.

The bottom (pun intended) line is that he broke the law, as did the family. Now it's time to pay the piper.

Thanks to the Mall at Wellington Green for taking a stand and making everyone's shopping experience that much better.

Now, can you get me the number for the woman wearing that "Got MILF?" t-shirt?

Really offensive or only really offensive to Palm Beach?.

If his FAMILY DIDN'T TEACH HIM HOW TO ACT AND BEHAVE,YOU MAY ASK IS HE OR HIS PARENTS RESPOSNIBLE FOR WHAT LOOKS LIKE THRUGGISH BEHAVIOR. AS FOR THE RACIAL ANGLE - I AM IN MUENCHEN, BAVARIA, where we have just had a "Crime Wave" of violence, four senior citizens attacked on subways NOT TO BE ROBBED, but just to be beaten up by a collection of foreigners, NONE BLACK or HISPANIC: Greek, Pakistani, Turkish, ALL YOUNG, and apparently NONE EMPLOYED or in SCHOOL. VIOLENCE IS A CLASS ISSUE not a RACIAL ISSUE. What is distrubing about this incident is the FAMILY SEEMS TO BE ALL OUT OF CONTROL!

Once again it seems the black community does not understand or care they are now in the United States, and as such need to act according to US laws. Using the old race card issue, is really a dead issue, as every time a black person is arrested, they cry its because I am black. The black community has shown (Dunbar village for example) a complete lack of social responsibility and in finding a way to better its race of people, other than using violence. Remember MLK.

Where are all the WHITE PEOPLE that have been arrested for low boy britches? Can anyone find the stats with the black/white comps?

White and Curious

It does't matter if the person and family are black, green or blue or if they are from another country. If you have a problem with the behavior of the tenns in United States you shuld'n have to mention their nationality and you know why? because that is discrimination. I dont know why pleople dont understand that this is a land of imigrants ask your parents or gran parents where they come fromand for shure the answer is they born in another country, your last name Dongilla is Italian or spanic? ask your parents why they came to this country and under what conditions, they where poor, did not have food on the table, came to look for a better life, ask them how they were trided, they were discriminated like you are doing with this family, now you went to school and got a decent job and now you are american, and you feel better person than immigrants from another country. What did you do when you were tenn or in the 60's you were smoking or using other kind of drugs now you are an Angel and a piur soul a and I forgot an a proud american. Grow up and find out about your past. If you dont understand your past it is going to be difficult to understand your present and your future.

I totally agree with all the things you said in regards to persons attire these days, what we are calling fashion these days are totally tasteless.nothing is wrong with you pointing out these type of behaviour, especially from our young people but it is not necessary to point out ones race, religion or culture. americans are very sensitive to this type of finger pointing, so please continue to bash bad behaviour, especially in public places but forget about the race, religion or culture.
