W. Boynton Recreation Center Activities, by Tina G. Korn

West Boynton has a terrific Recreational Center. Have you been there?
Do you know where it is? It is located at 6000 Northtree Boulevard, Lake Worth, directly
behind Park Vista High School.
phone # 561 355-1125.
Their hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M
Saturday 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Sunday closed

There is a gymnasium, meeting room and teen room and a helpful staff.
The REC Center is surrounded by a lovely park featuring lighted basketball courts,
baseball fields, softball fields, hockey rink, skate park, sand volleyball court, and
tennis courts. All of these courts are lighted for evening use.

There is parking, however, it appears to be insufficient for the needs of the participants
involved in so many sports. Write letters! Make yourself heard. If more parking is
needed, this should be brought to the attention of community leaders.

There is lots of room to run around in the gated playground for children.
You can reserve a group picnic pavilion or picnic shelter. The restroom facilities are
clean and safe.

With all of the activity (Little League, Soccer, Flag Football) the parking for the rec center is horrendous.
