Earth Day event, April 19, 2008

Saturday, April 19, 2008, Sandoway House Nature Center, 142 S. Ocean Blvd, Delray Beach, is hosting
SAVE OUR OCEANS- 8:00 A.M to 10:00 A.M. Beach Cleanup, FREE
This event is a great way to spend a morning at the beach to collect harmful
debris that seriously damages the fragile coastal ecosystems.

Come join the City of Delray Beach and Sandoway House to protect our greatest
resource the Atlantic Coast. All clean-up materials, water and free commemorative
ball caps will be provided while supplies last.

Following the cleanup, the Sandoway House Nature Center will host activities
10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. that include live entertainment; animal encounters,
nature crafts and games with local environmental groups.

The Sandoway House Nature Center is listed on The National Register of
Historic Places (home built in 1936) and provides a living history lesson with
its exhibits, facilities and activities. It offers a window into the workings of marine
and freshwater ecosystems in the area. Programs and activities educate the
visiting public about the natural ecosystems and the requirements to sustain
those natural ecosystems.
