To open the ceremony, Chief Herman W. Brice introduced the many
dignitaries in the audience, including County Commissioners Robert Kanjiian,
Burt Aronson, and members of COWBRA and the Alliance. The invocation was
given by Chaplain Jeremy Hurd.

Fire Station #44 will enhance service to the residents of Valencia Lakes,
Coral Lakes, Avalon, the Lakeridge communities, and several other
surrounding areas, with a Rescue truck and an ALS Engine with three
personnel on duty daily.

This new three and a half million dollar facility is a continuation of
the County Commission's promise to enhance Fire Rescue
services by reducing response time.

Commissioner Burt Aronson's speech to the audience included his
long-standing commitment to supporting Fire Rescue, commending
Ted Winsberg for his donation of land for this facility, and praising the
skills, dedication, and knowledge of the Fire Rescue men and women.
