First Hadassah Stem Cell Walk-A-Thon held at Lake Ida Park

This morning at 9 A.M. over 500 citizens participted at Lake Ida Park in a Walk-A-Thon
sponsored by Hadassah to raise funds and awareness for Stem Cell Research.

Grand Marshall was Shawn Firedkin, Founder of Stand Among Friends, a non-profit organization that established the Center for the Study of Neurological Disabilities
(The Center) in the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing on Florida Atlantic University's (FAU) Boca Raton Campus in 2006.
Friedkin gave a stirring and informative talk on the importance of Stem Cell Research in trying to find a cure for neurological disorders including Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's, ALS, Spinal Cord Injury, MS.
