Palm Beach County Senior Tennis League crowns 2008 champions

The Palm Beach County Senior Tennis League, now in its 22nd year, played its championship round at the Gleneagles Country Club in Delray Beach on March 24th and March 27th with the top 34 teams competing for this year’s titles.
This is the 18th consecutive year that Gleneagles has hosted this event. From its inception in 1985, the league has grown from 9 teams to its current level of nearly 350 teams and almost 5,000 players in nine men’s flights and eight women’s flights. We believe this is the largest senior tennis league in the country.
Teams come from a wide range of tennis venues: public tennis centers and racquet clubs, country clubs, and tennis communities. Players of varying abilities compete in this ten week season, running from January to March.
Left standing at the end of the season were 18 men’s and 16 women’s teams that vied for Championship honors. Trophies for the Champions and finalists will be presented April 11th at the annual Awards Luncheon to be held at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.
The 2008 Champions in the West Delray area were:
Women’s Level 4 – Villa Borghese
Men’s Level 2 – Valencia Falls
Men’s Level 3 – Addison Reserve
Men’s Level 7 – Valencia Falls
Men’s Level 8 – Valencia Palms
