“Summer” is almost over for those of us with children who will be entering or returning to school as of Monday, August 18th; an exciting time for students and parents. Remember to give yourself some extra time heading out in the morning as school zones will be active and enforced; school buses will be sharing the roadways and children will be walking to school. Palm Beach County to Offer Workshop for Business OwnersThe Office of Small Business Assistance will be holding a workshop series for small businesses seeking information on “How to Do Business with Palm Beach County” on September 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 12-Noon at the Palm Beach County Purchasing Conference Room (50 South Military Trail, West Palm Beach, Florida 33415)

During the workshops, county staff will discuss the duties of many local government departments as well as specific issues regarding purchasing, engineering codes, utility providers, operations, and financial risk management.

Palm Beach County Residents Now Able to Request Re-Evaluation of Property Taxes.The Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller’s office is now offering residents the opportunity to file petitions to challenge their property tax assessments for the 2008 tax season. The submitted petitions are reviewed by the Palm Beach County Value Adjustment Board.
