Palm Beach Among Most Populous of Florida Counties

The 2010 Census numbers are in. The national population is 308,745,538. Florida is among the top five most populous states with Palm Beach County being the third most populous county with seven percent of Florida’s population.

What changes have occurred since the 2000 Census? There has been a 16.7 % increase in the county population. Total number of Palm beach County residents? 1,320,134. This number is 11.5 times the population of 1950 which was then 114,688.

Total housing units in the County total 544,227 with 71.4% being owner occupied and 28.6% renter occupied.

A Census is performed across the United States every ten years. The census is used for redistricting. It also helps government to project and to understand how the population is changing and to encourage economic development.
