Vivi, Vivi, everywhere

Searcher Rosa Chile reports from the field:

The little girl (actually two sisters and a brother) who spotted Vivi yesterday near Auburndale Lane and Bagley Avenue had also seen her the day before. The children reported that while Vivi had playfully approached the small girl, she ran away when the older sister came near.

The mother of the children has given permission for searchers to place a humane trap in her yard, and will also leave a baby monitor in a small playhouse that she has in the yard.

Rosa also says that the search dogs have split up: Laura Totis and her Rottie and German shepherd dog are going to Bayside to check out the apartment-complex sighting on Bell Boulevard, as well as a new one that reportedly occurred Thursday night at 210th Street and 43rd Avenue. If the dogs find Vivi's scent in either place, this could mean that the elusive whippet is making a circuit between the two communities of Bayside (where the apartment building is located) and Flushing (where the children reportedly saw her yesterday and the day before), though they are separated by a highway (the Clearview Expressway).

The other search dog, a golden retriever owned and handled by Karen's former student Sam, will go to the stable located near Kissena Park in Flushing to see if there is any scent there. While there was no sighting at this property, searchers wonder if Vivi would be drawn there, since she was raised on a horse farm.

This stable is not the Queens County Farm Museum, which is located six or so miles to the east. The scent dogs visited a woman who claimed to see Vivi in Floral Park near the Queens County Farm Museum yesterday and picked up no scent. This community is far afield from where other Vivi sightings have been clustered, and the sighting may not have been a real one.

Cheers for that family. Please Vivi, visit the little girl again. Thank goodness we have Laura and the dogs. The area is narrowing down. Thank you to all the NYC searchers. You have gone above and beyond what most people would do. I LOVE NEW YORK!

WONDERFUL NEWS, BEST NEWS SO FAR......

Wonderful! It makes sense Vivi may feel more comfortable approaching a child. Who knows what she may have come across in the way of adults along her long path. We don't know if people might even have shooed her away or yelled at her not realizing who she is and the reward. I imagine she's very sensitive emotionally; children are so natural with dogs.

Thank goodness for this family! I'll be glued to the blog hoping and praying!!

There seems like quite a distance between Bayside and Flushing

Laura is working so hard!! What a coup it would be for her if she finds Vivi. GO LAURA!!!!

I love Laura and her dogs especially, all the prayers are working...

Just got back a little while ago from the posting and search group. There was apparently a strong scent in the golf course. A trap will be set up either today or tomorrow and a neighbor who walks his dog in the area every night and has reunited strays with their humans has offered to help checking the trap.

For all of you out of towners who are wondering what you can do to help other than graciously donating money to the Find Vivi fund - we need flyers, lots and lots of flyers.

If you can make flyers up and overnight them to the address I'll post at the end of this it would be a great help since the area is being blanketed.

The flyers should contain the following information and ONLY the following information:

LOST DOG
$5,000 REWARD

WHIPPET - named "VIVI"

IF SEEN DO NOT CHASE HER
PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CALL TO REPORT SIGHTINGS

917-647-4848
or 917-626-1374
or 516-776-0923

(and paste and copy the picture of Vivi from the Vivi poster above.)

You can overnight your posters to
Diane Tamm
111 East Shore Road
Manhasset, NY 11030

and I will make sure they get into the appropriate hands.

We're getting closer. Let's get our girl back home.

Bayside and Flushing are not far apart. The first garage was at 194th Street, the apartment is as 210th, The numbers go up so it's only 16 blocks apart, not far for a Whippet to travel, if indeed she was at 210th

Should we create a new flyer or can we download and copy the poster from the link Denise posted? I will definitely copy and overnight some fliers.

For crying out loud..now my husband wants to go eat, he ate yesterday, I don't want to leave the computer..damn.

Anyone up for an 8:00 pm EST candle lighting? It worked last night at 9pm so lets do it alittle earlier tonight. Let me know I'm only one person and we need more energy than that.

I can print up one thousand tomorrow and send FedEx for Monday delivery. I can't get them there any sooner. These will be on colored paper.

If you think you need more than 1,000, let me know. Do you need tape, staples, anything else? Let me know what is needed and I'll put in the FedEx box as well.

If you need tomorrow, and someone can tell me the closest Kinkos to someone, I'll send the poster to that Kinkos, have it printed and put on my credit card with instructions for someone to pick up tomorrow. Just let me know your preference.

I'm going out to a birthday dinner shortly. If there are other things that you can think of, call my cell at 904-234-5404 and let me know.

Maggie, Michelle and Trevor from Florida

I'll be lighting a candle in New Hampshire at 8PM tonight.
You are all amazing, how wonderful to stay so in touch with Vivi.

I can light at candle at 8PM Eastern; that's just 7:PM for me. I can always light another one at 9PM Eastern as well. Can't have too many candles for dear Vivi!

Will be lighting candles on the west coast for Vivi.

I'm in for the candle lighting at 8:00 pm!! I've also had a candle lit by the picture and cremains of our beautiful black lab,Shadow,-- asking her to please help Vivi and to keep her safe and be a gardian angel

Maggie, that is actually a very good idea. Emailing to the nearest Kinkos and having someone pick it up will get the job done so much more quickly. By the way, Staples currently has a special on color copies - .39 per copy. Probably less depending on volume. This is a great price compared to other places.

Sorry, forgot to mention that the phone numbers should be in black and be large enough so they can be read by somebody driving by.

Hello, Just got home and I read that now laura is only 1 to 2 hours behind ViVi. Is this really true. please let me know. I

That was the latest word, Marty -- yippee!!!

I'm sure they could use some tape also and yes, you can use the original poster but the numbers are wrong on the poster. Apparently somebody redid the poster and put their own number as the second number. The numbers should appear in the order that they are above.

Anybody out there know/write Korean,Japanese or Chinese? Flushing has a very large Asian population with lots of seniors that don't speak English.

Yes Marty it appears that way.

If the two sightings are seperated by the clearfiew expressway then do you think ViVi is traveling thru pipes that someone was talking about to get to the other side.

Wouldn't the dogs have picked up the scent at the pipes if that were the case?

OK - I've made up a poster. Does anyone want to see this before I print up or send to Kinkos? Still need to know which Kinkos or Staples is the closets for someone to pick up either tonight or in the morning. I'm leaving the house in less than 60 mintes, so have to work fast.
Maggie
My cell is 904-234-5404
My email is maggie@mayo.edu

I don't know the area well enough to say, but it makes sense if they are connected. On the other hand, no one can know for certain how she's traveling (except perhaps Laura's dogs).

I've been wondering. the animal communicater said she saw ViVi near a porch and that their was a wooden fence door. I wonder if it was at that little girls house. Sending more energy

Maggie, just be sure they meet the required specifications ... I don't recall, but I know they were listed in one of the blogs.

It's so hard to keep track of things here since we have no search functionality.

Perfect. I will be in church attending the 5pm mass. I will say a prayer for VIVI then.

Monday or Tuesday delivery is fine since that's my work address. I would suspect that a few thousand at least. I think they went through over 500 today and have only done a limited area. They have changed their strategy - they will post on corners first and then fill in the block rather than doing every tree, pole, post, etc. in one block and then moving on to the next block.

You can use the original poster making sure you change the numbers or use your own creativity and make a new poster. Just remember - large numbers, very large numbers.

8 p.m. candle lighting - I'm in, if I'm still awake. Too much fresh air today.

I'm back reading so sorry if I keep posting. I believe the little girl has a playhouse in her back yard.

I'll be saying a prayer at 5pm because I am in California (8PM eastern)

A candle will be lit at 8:00 p.m. in CT

This is my last posting until later -- I would suggest that you not send out anything until you check here tomorrow for the latest update. I'm praying that she'll go visit the little girl again and get caught in the trap.

There is a Staples in Queens 134-01 20th Ave, College Point. 718-460-2258. I am not finding any Kinkos in the area at all.

I found Honi's post with some information on the flyers:

"We recommend and request that fliers first be placed in page protectors that can be picked up at Staples or any office supply store or zip lock bags. This is to protect them from the weather. Stop at all Post Offices, Banks, Police Stations, fast food places, libraries, supermarkets, drug stores....you get the gist. Put fliers up on all corners, all directions. Dont be shy when you see people walking, ask them if they know about Vivi and if they don't, tell them and tell them not to chase her. If they feel they can get her into a gated area or a house then do so and call one of the numbers.

Another important thing is to tell people NOT to change any of the phone numbers on the posters. The numbers that are there are key people who have been the key people since the beginning. There is a network set up that is working, this is no time for people to start changing things. Please, this is not an ego situation, this is a search for a dog."

I also think the format of the flyer was set up by Karin who redesigned the original ones. I wouldn't be too creative in creating NEW posters.

OK - I'll send to specified address for Monday morning delivery. I used the picture of Vivi that's on the Team Vivi Yahoo group - just her and nothing else. Used the #s provided in the post above. I'll send tape/staples, too
I'll be at the office tomorrow morning and will check for any other instructions before shipping.

Maggie

I'm back (whether you like it or not). Unfortunately, I've been away from my computer for a while - thank God for cell phones so I'm semi-updated. Just a couple things...

Terrie from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin...I received your check and deposited it in the "Vivi" account. We are now at $200.00 and I'm confident it will grow daily!

Please, don't fret about the pet detective. We hired her to do a job and she is doing incredibly well don't you think? Her job is to narrow the area of search. So far, it sounds like this is being done by verifying (or not) recent sightings.

It is going to be the foot soldiers (Rosa, Tina, Darlene, etc.) I'm guessing that will be the bigger heroes in the end. We need to take the advice of the woman we hired - Laura - no matter whether we agree with it or not. I have a feeling we will NOT be disappointed with anything she has to say. We need to trust her. She is the professional we agreed upon to do the job. From the sounds of it, she is doing above and beyond what anyone ever expected.

It sounds like as "needs" are being posted, they are being met. That is incredible. We are a team! We are TEAM-VIVI and perhaps tomorrow (depending upon how cooperative Vivi is...) we can be TEAM-SNIFFLES.

Hi Lois! Glad to see you back. Did you receive my phone message?

Is it possible to send or email a copy of the correct poster to a copy place where one of the volunteers can pick it up. The emailed poster will be our master copy and those of us who want to donate can just call the shop with our credit card numbers and how many copies we want made. That way, there can be a continuous supply of posters which the volunteer(s) can pick up as they run out. This sounds like it is the easiest and quickest thing. Anyone who lives in the Flushing area--is there a copy store that can accomodate this request.

If that family does have a fenced in back yard it would be nice if the little girl could play with ViVi and get her in the back yard and close the gate door and BINGO

do the houses in NY all have fenced in back yards. I know out here in California we do

If someone in NY who will be picking up the posters can do a Goggle search on Kinkos Flushing NY, look through the list of Kinkos, and tell me which would be the most convenient, I'll email to them tonight with instructions on making copies, others may call to make copies, etc. I'm in Florida and have no idea which Kinkos is the closest. Thanks
Maggie

I am just so proud...and hopeful....that all across the country...this is going on. Geez, if I am ever lost or alone, would you ladies come to my rescue????

Hello ~

I'm so glad to hear that they are getting close and I will light a candle tonight at 8:00 pm. I'm so happy with the process so far and can only imagine it will get better ... soon. Laura is a excellent choice. But while I've been happy today because of all the news another thing is on my mind ... who is CHANGING THE NUMBERS ON THE FLYERS???? Vivi does have owners and this is done using certain peoples numbers that THE OWNERS REQUESTED !!! Who the hell do you think you are ??? Please stop !!!! We don't need this crap and it's not accepted here. So please grow up and give people the "RIGHT" numbers. To the rest of you who can't be in NY but would love too , Light a candle !!! and smile she's around and we ALL know it :).

The numbers on the flyers are incorrect. The last number is a California number - by the time they get the message and pass it along to the team out here Vivi to be far away. The first number is Rosa's cell, she's available all day, the second number is Bonnie and the last one is Honi. This is what they asked me to post.

Just popping in to check posts. Sounds like things are proceeding wonderfully. Lois, glad you got my check. Makes sense I was one of the first since we're practically neighbors. The rest will flow in next week and after. Gail you are too funny, if I'd had anything in my mouth when I read about your husband wanting to go eat I would have spit it out. By the way. What about that special bait now. Do you suppose as they are narrowing the search we could get a hold of some of that? I'm sure the main searchers are thinking of all of that stuff, but if she's hanging in a certain area it seems like it might be time to be thinking about that! I'm not surprised about the little girl. Children have an innosence about them, as do dogs. It would make sense they would attract her. Hey, could we use the little girl as bait? OK with supervision of course! I know, I'm losing it again. Hang in there and hang close Vivi! Terrie

i'm in for 8pm, candle and prayer. Let's do it!!!

Such good news. I'm in for the candle lighting and a prayer at 8pm eastern. Vivi, its time to go play with that little girl!

Diane - If I'm sending to your address via FedEx, I need your phone #. You can email that to me at maggie@mayo.edu or call my cell at 904-234-5404.

I'll still send a large quantity along with supplies to you for Monday morning delivery. I'll put in page protectors, etc.

I'll still email the master copy to a Kinkos or Staples once we figure out which is the most convenient for someone to pick up from.

Maggie

In a heartbeat Terri,we will look for you and find you :)

I'm back home now at least for a few hrs then my husband and I have a birthday party to go to.

5:00p.m. I will be lighting candles at home and offering prayers. I went to the feed store her in WLA and spoke to the animal rescue pet adoption people that are adding their prayers for Vivi. I also gave an animal communicator this website. She has been praying for Vivi since this incident

Siri-Calif

I won't be here at 8:00pm but I'll say a prayer and be lighting a candle in my thoughts. OK, whippet wants some attention. Going out for a little walk. Terrie

Did you know that google.com has a language tranlator?! Paste the poster & select language you want to translate it into.
- Linda from NY on the street!

OK - I used the text and the phone # in Diane's post above.

917-647-4848
917-626-1374
516-776-0923

If those are not correct, please let me know.

Top of poster is picture of vivi
Then the text Diane provided, followed by the phone #s above.

Maggie

Chrissy, I hope that wasn't directed at me. There are actually posters out on poles, trees, etc. with the incorrect telephone numbers. That is totally counterproductive.

Depending on whether you want to use Kinkos or Staples the flyers will have to be picked up by two different people.

If you want Kinkos use 800 Northern Boulevard, Great Neck, NY, tele No. 516-829-7390. If you prefer Staples use 209-34 Northern Boulevard, Bayside, NY, tele No. 718-229-1993.

If you use Kinkos I'll pick them up, if you use Staples I'll have to ask Rosa to pick them up. Just let one of us know.

FYI, I volunteered because Laura suggested that they be fed ex'd to somebody and since I'm in a position to accept overnight deliveries I offered.

Just got in from work, sounds like maybe we could be having a home coming soon (please). Will be lighting candles here in AZ.

I will use whichever one is most convenient to the person who will pick them up. It sounds like Kinko's is most convenient for Diane sot I will use them.

Maggie, if you don't mind, could you please email the master copy of the poster to the Kinko's that Diane is referring to.

Once the email is there, I will call and ask to have posters ready for Monday if Diane's schedule permits a pickup then.

Diane, I hope I am not imposing but I'm all the way out here in CA and really want to do something to help the searchers since I can't help with the actual search.

Thanks.

Hey that good smelling bait would be the way to go. I wonder if the owners have any left from when they used it at the airport. I sometimes wonder when did she actually leave the airport. Does anyone have a thought on that.

Everyone please focus on the fact that At The Hands Of A Child Can Come Great Miracles!!

Cindy, good thought!

I can't get through to the Kinkos that was mentioned. I just emailed the flyer to the Staples at 209-34 Northern Blvd, 718-229-1993, which an explanation, that various people might be calling in to order a quantity, and others will be stopping in to pick up. I asked them to make sure all shifts were aware of this request. Let's hope it works.

I'll keep trying to send to Kinkos.

I talked to Diane and I will send several thousand to her address for delivery Monday morning. Hopefully, we won't need them!

Maggie

All my grand furry's (2 Cavs and a mut) and my babies Sket and Sav are ligthing candles at 7:00 CST

Thanks Maggie. Is there a filename I should refer to or should I just say copies of VIVI's poser/flier?

Okay, "ET" phone home.... VIVI you've seen enough of New York, it's time to phone home. Great, great news about the little girl...Vivi needs a girl friend and I can just see her responding to a child! My candles will be lit and burning at 5PM in California. I took to heart what the psychic said and have been visualizing and meditating Vivi in the arms of that little girl and in a safe place particularly hard all day long. Can Laura possibly stay another couple of days? I thought that was the plan. Lois, my check is in the priority mail and you should have it Mon/Tues. Another thought on the translation of the poster.... does anyone know a translator or someone who works at the UNITED NATIONS IN NYC? They could translate into those languages in a heartbeat! I am so optimistic and upbeat!! Candles will be lit and hearts full. Marnie in Pebble Beach, CA~

The file name is Vivi. My email explained the purpose of the flyer - so hopefully they will understand when someone calls.

Maggie

All of these positive comments and positive energy for Vivi is amazing. I pray for her safe return day and night and hope that Jil, Bo and Paul can finally rest knowing she is safe at home.

Gail: you are too funny! We all need a smile right about now. I just talked my husband into going to take a nap (!) so that I could get on-line and get caught up!!!! I'm obsessed. Maybe he'll hibernate.... Marnie

I guess I am not the only one that's been neglecting the husband lately.........Rosa

We need tranquilizer dart's for the husbands, just till Vivi gets home..Where is Irene when you need her.....

The positive comments and energy that you all have for Vivi are just amazing. I own one of Vivi's sisters and we have been praying day and night for her safe return home. Let's all pray that it's this weekend.

Prayers and a candle at 8:oo in my house. I cannot
stand the suspense anymore. Pls Vivi come out and
be seen so this drama can end. My check was mailed
out yesterday. I think my dogs think that their
new names are Vivi, because I am constantly praying
with them and mentioning her name. It makes m e
so sad to see my 2 whippets and one grey warm and
safe ( and in my bed at night) and knowing that Vivi
is out in the cold. It was only 40 degrees here
today.

8pm candle lighting for Vivi,Sniffles and Biggie. There will be candles buring here in Indiana. I will also have my friends and family light them as well.

Gail, you are too funny:)

Lighting a candle here in NC at 8pm!

Nicole

Oh, we're all neglecting our husbands. At least my dog gets a walk each day...Terrie

I laminated Vivi's picture from people magazine and have next to the candle I will be lighting at 8:00pm along with a prayer to St. Francis. "VIVA LA VIVI!"...Rosa in Michigan.

Does anyone know how late Laura will stay out with her dogs? And when the dogs pick up a scent, how far does the scent take them? I'm just curious because they said they had a strong scent in the golf course...does the scent just end at some point? I don't know much about tracking but from the little I know about hunting dogs don't they track until they find the animal?
Very curious...will try to look up some info unless someone here knows about tracking and can post.
thanks,
Nicole

Shawn, you have Vivi's sister...I bet she's beautiful just like Vivi. We'd love to see a picture of her in our photo album
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/teamvivi/

Nicole

Terrie, my husband is feeling neglected as well...he's not in a good mood right now:( Better go and will get back online after the candle lighting.

Nicole

I WILL SEE BO AND LAURA AT THE HOTEL TONIGHT...I WILL LEARN MORE AND LET THE BLOGHEAD NATION NO THE SKINNY...MAYBE THE LITTLE GIRL WOULD BE A GREAT MEDIA BAIT..THEY LOVE A MIX OF KIDS AND ANIMALS

Lighting a candle here in California at 5:00 p.m. west coast time 8:00p.m. east coast time

I'm back. Husbands been fed so that'll be the last I see of him tonight. Marnie I hope mine hibernates to and Rosa don't put ideas in my head, that tranquilzer dart sounded mighty tempting, lol. Sue G. Vivi's a nice name by now all our pets think they are Vivi :-)

Candles will be lite here at 8pm est maybe the little whipper snapper will come out tonight for another sighting...lets hope!

You guys are geat. I have been following all week. I am own by a Pharaoh Hound so I understand the sight hound well. I use to have Kuvasz but they have past on. I have asked their spirits to protect Vivi and guide her. Praying for a happy ending to this story real soon.

My candle will be lit at 8:00. I have a picture of Vivi with and a candle. I've also added a picture of my IG, Gryphon, who went to the Rainbow Bridge almost 4 years ago. I always thought that after he passed away he helped me find my whippet. He was very serious and sensitive and I still miss him every day.
Sheila

I would love to see it but I'll have to wait 'til after she's found. It's too hard to see it right now. But she IS beautiful. Terrie

Hey Brian, Is Bo and laura there now and has Jill arrived yet

They will be lit here in MA at 8:00 with positive energy and light coming to Vivi thru the night.

Brian that's a great idea! See I knew we could find a way to use this little girl as Vivi bait - maybe it will just have to be through the media. Hi Rosa, by the way, glad you could join us. Leaving in an hour for the evening - but will check in at midnight or whenever we get back. Terrie

Wish I could just stay home and watch the Blog. I'll be thinking and praying for Vivi, Sniffles and Biggie all night. Terrie

Hi Terrie, Thanks for the lucky Irish e-mail. Catch up with you later, have a nice evening..Rosa

What would we do without Brian? He's our main man!

Terrie, forget that very alluring food they tried, all we needed were little girls as bait all along...who knew?? I can see the caption now "Children used as bait to catch the lost Whippet Vivi".

Oh God Gail your killing me you and Irene put a SMILE on my face :)

Siri

Lighting candles here in Seattle too! Also have a neglected husband, but oh well! Gotta find this whippet and get her home.

Brian -- if you remember, could you ask Bo about the special bait? Does he still have any? Could we get any? Would that help Laura at all?

Thanks again everyone --

Diane , no that wasn't dircted to you. I was just reading about the #'s being wrong . I think it was on the Honi message and I know their are lots of people hanging up flyers so just wanted to let people know incase they weren't aware. I heard it from a few people today and read it. Figured if that person hangs 500 posters then we would have a problem ... for Vivi . Vivi was on Fox news tonight . They were saying how they were "Hot on her Trail" I was actually surprised to hear it , haven't heard much about Vivi on fox lately. Well I hope we keep hearing this good news. Finally something feels right :)

Does anyone know where they put the trap

Marty, I thought they were going to put a trap in that little girls yard.

Lois said they were putting one or more traps by the barn where they have the "command post". A trap in the little girl's yard and there is a playhouse in the yard that they picked up Vivi's scent (as in she may have slept in it) and the mom is putting a baby monitor in there.

OK Gail, no strong smelling bait - could we put the little girl in the trap? : ) Chrissy, where are you that you saw Fox News do a story on Vivi? Terrie

Lighting one in Maui!

I have three small grandchildren...they're all boys but your welcome to them.

OK Terrie, that one got me laughing! The sign in our shop reads "Kids must be leashed". My herd of whippets and me will be lighting candles.

Thanks Gail, that would be awesome! Terrie

Checking in ... will be lighting at candle along with everyone else.

Love the little girl as bait!

Will be checking in every so hour or so. Still sick so after finishing husband's dinner, might lay down for awhile.

MASTERCARDS NEW COMMERCIAL..USING YOUR LITTLE GIRL TO BAIT LOST SHOW DOG "PRICELESS"

Our Vivi is quite famous, when this is all said and done, when she is home safe and sound, I'll bet she'll be wanted for commercials, TV shows maybe even a movie... She won a prize at the Show, she has star quality. Please don't mind my ramblings... just thinking crazy, waiting...

This stream has got me laughing like crazy. I've got to print it out or something. Rosa, Gail, too much! Julie, glad we finally got you laughing. I want to stay home tonight so bad. Julie what kind of shop do you have? Terrie

Does anyone know yet if they picked up ViVi scent at those apartments

I bet if we really put are heads together we could find Bin laden if we wanted to...

Darlene could probably hunt him down with her liverwurst.

You got that right Rosa. I bet our dogs could sniff him out of his hole

I better ease up on the expresso..I might just have to put some baily's in it. I think it's going to be a long night....Terrie, we'll be here when you get back tonight. Rosa

No Marty not yet. Brian said he will let us know as soon as he sees Laura and Bo.

Rosa, I will never look at my Mastercard the same again, lol.

what's going on with laura and the other girl helping her. Are they leaving tomorrow and what time. does anyone know

Gail, Since I fed my husband tonight. He should be good till Monday!! lollolol Rosa

We don't have the answers yet Marty, I think that's why we're all getting punchy.

If he doesn't make it till Monday. I'll just have to pull out the DARTS!

Rosa, don't let him drift to far we may have to round up all the husbands and use them as Vivi bait...

Twelve minutes before we light our candles

I'ts good for us to have a little laugh break. We have been so worried and uptight. I don't mean to take anything away from Vivi. Let's get our little candle vigil going and share some good stories. BYOB

Okay I will have to go in my daughter's room to light my candle because if my husband thought I was lighting this candle to send energy for ViVi, he would really think I have lost it.

Thanks Rosa, if you guys are like this already, I'm scared what I'll come home to. :) Terrie

It's almost 8 in NY isn't it?

I am now going to have to explain this candle lghting to the friends I am visiting in Maui. He now asks me every five minutes is they found her yet. When I told him it was on Fox news and I am not making this up he said "Oh you are too"

Marty do I need to send Darts over there?

Lighting candles in Ventura, CA... Husband feeding me..... :)

Lois, my bank emailed me saying they sent the check for $125 electronically thru online bill pay - you should be seeing it in your bank account within 3 days - that was 2 days ago..

Almost Lois.

Hey guys...I have a thought (scary isn't it). When they update the "blog" tonight, how about if we (the out of towners) keep using this thread to "discuss" and leave the new one for search related information (i.e. where they will be meeting, what area they will be searching, etc.). That way, the people doing the searching will be able to check the blog and not have to search through our "stuff". What do you think?

Great Idea Lois!

This countdown has more hype than New Year's Eve. I know it means more to me!

Sounds good Lois, Bye everyone. Praying for a good night! xoxoTerrie

I'm hoping when they update the blog tonight it will be with the news we all want to hear so we can all calm down.

Lois, good idea!

Hey, Area New Yorkers...don't forget Brian's Posh Disco from Garden City Hotel @ 8:00PM, 102.7FM; while it's not a fund raiser like last week, Brian did say in earlier blogs he would ask DJ to keep mentioning Vivi throughout broadcast.

I never expect my husband to understand why I do things. He lets me be and shakes his head. Keeps him wondering and keeps him laughing. As long as he has his remote control and gets fed, he is happy. That is my goal. Poor thing has been quite sick the past few days and has been demaning the extra TLC. Nurse Battle Axe on duty!

Candle ready to go.

Cindy that was lovely, thank you.

Yes rosa you do. I give him a look and he knows he better just shut up

Candle lit. Thank you, Cindy.

I believe I might have the most westerly Vivi candle burning now.

OK Candle is lite and I'm holding my Shepherds urn.......If my husband sees this he'll tell me the white coats are on the way :-).

Sharon, Your scaring me, I just had a vision of Kathy Bates in Misery.

Well at least he got his dinner,eh?

Rosa, are you a psychic?

Cindy you just made me cry, that was just beautiful!!!

Candles burning here for vivi, sniffles and biggie, poem was very sweet, thank you

Sharon.LOL LOL LOL

I've just lit a load of candles...Vivi, you are a special little girl.

Isn't it incredible? I just can't say it enough. One adorable little dog has brought so many people together (from so many different "walks" of life) to accomplish one challenging task - to find her and return her to her owners.

Vivi, you rock!

I have had a candle burning since 9:00 pm last night. When my husband asked me what was going on I finally fessed up and explained what we were doing. He laughed and laughed. I'm glad we are there to keep our husbands amused.

My doggies and I just said a prayer for Vivi, Biggie, and Sniffles. May the angels guide them home where they are loved.

Lois, I have to say this whole ordeal has been like therapy to me, because of all the wonderful compassionate people I have met here!

Everyone..take 60 seconds sway back and forth and keep saying Vivi's name maybe she'll feel the energy if we all do it at once...

I was doing some meditating at 8 like Gale Ritchey said and I got this ground level vision of her looking at some bicycle or possible motor cycle (not moving, it is parked)tires and staring up at a porch with a sort of sage green mail box with some flowers painted on it. The kind that has the two curved metal pieces on the bottom for newspapers. The yard had that metal edging around flower beds. Yikes.

Anyone serving drinks tonight?

Sharon, I want what your drinking.

Through Vivi we also have been demonstrating the power of Love, Mind and Spirit and HOPE as ONE made up of all us who are from ALL over and prior to this did not know each other. WOW Ain't Life a Beach !!

Siri

Cindy, that was beautiful!

Girls all were missing is a fondue pot full of chocolate!

Okay Brian we need an update.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

Rosa,

Only Chai tea. The husband just paged me for some strawberry ice cream. What I won't do for him!

Hey girls, Just wondering. when do you think vivi left JFK. I wonder that alot

No chocolate for me I'm trying to follow Weight Watchers.

Marty...maybe they have GREAT news and haven't had the time to post yet..I hope I hope I hope.

I wish our animal communicator would come on and tell us what she is feeling and thinking.

Marty I have thought about that also. I hope it was when it started to warm up. The first weekend she was lost is when New York had that terrible freezing temperature's, so I am guessing she stayed in a cargo.

I said from the beginning that I thought she would run from the airport asap. The sounds of the airplanes would have scared the hell out of her.

Is Vivi's owner Jill in town also?

was their two sightings of her at the airport. Well I remember reading that the sky chef saw her and I'm not sure of the other time it seems like two weeks went by before anyone saw her.

Lois, If a new blog comes up, someone should try to put a comment first, reminding others to save this space for updated info....I typed this in earlier but it must have gone off into outer space, because I don't see it. My husband came through a few minutes ago and saw my plate of candles burning and said, don't tell me, the dogs!!

I can't believe she survived that cold weather. What a little trooper.

Ok I lit my candle right at 8pm. I had set my alarm on my cell phone to ring right at 8pm with the song "I Will Survive." It was right during dinner,my husband asked me who was calling,I said no one it is time to light my candle for our missing doggies. Now I'm swaying back and forth saying Vivi's name. I think he is close to admitting me somewhere soon. Hope they can feel the vibes. COME HOME VIVI,SNIFFLES AND BIGGIE!!!!!

I thought I saw somewhere that she was coming in today.

I could see her hiding someplace dark like in Cargo for a few days until she got hungry and lonely and ventured out during that warm streak. We'll never know.

Karen, Have you seen a beach or a palm tree yet? I would be doing the same thing you are.

When my family calls and I sound "pre-occupied", they ask me what I'm doing and THEN they say, "don't tell me, Vivi, right?".

Karen, My question is did you get any sleep at all last night?

My husband is as much of an animal lover as Iam. He's spooning with our little whippet as I speak. He just gets me thank goodnes. I told him just stay out of my way till Vivi get's home.

We will never know, I always look at my animals, especially after we've been away for days, tell me what really went on here with the pet sitter, while we were away, they just look and blink and tilt their little head to one side...

Marty, I wondered when she left the airport too, but really have a gut feeling it was quite a while ago.

Maybe someone did take her home and held out for a bigger reward, not knowing the personality of a sight hound and she got away.

We will never know. All we can do is hope she shows up in the yard of someone who cares and is aware.

I also think there are people who can care less about a lost dog and ignore strays. Unfortunately, many people lead isolated lives and are not aware of what is happening in thier own neighborhood.

I am so glad I found this website. When it first happened I was just sick to my stomach. Then I kept watching the news hoping something would be said and the news channels would say something every once in awhile but then they stopped. Every day I would go to google and type in every news channel hoping I would find something. ViVi never left my mind. Then I thought I am going to call westminster club and see if they have a website with updates about ViVi and finally got this one. THANK GOD. The worry I have had for this dog has aged me 10 yrs. All of you are the most wonderful and caring people and I know the family can never thank you enough. NOW VIVI GET YOUR BUTT IN THAT TRAP NOW

This whole stream of messages is fracturing me!!! I swear it is the first time I've laughed since Vivi went on a tour of NYC over a month ago! I swear it's the truth. And, I must admit, it feels good. Gail, you are killing me with every single message! Can't use my husband as bait (yet)... he's still hibernating, but as soon as he comes to life, he's all yours if needed to help Vivi! Brian, you are a PR GENIUS... kids and animals. Spent my professional life in PR/Marketing and it always works! Our house looks like a candlelit shrine and when my husband comes out of hibernation, he's going to want to call the fire department! Vivi come home to the glow in our hearts and our homes! My every single thought is with Vivi, Bo, Jil and Paul and everyone out there on the front-line working so hard to bring America's Girl home!! I've so enjoyed laughing at this stream and now back to meditating on Vivi! Thanks for the break, everyone! GO TEAM VIVI! Marnie in California

My husband just came in here shaking his head. please Rosa send those darts.

You are so right Marty, I found this web site after several days of looking for any info on craigslist.ny--it was awful, so many terrible things were posted, I could never repeat them, finally someone posted go to whippetview.com for vivi information, I have never gone back to craigslist. whoever that was, thank you.

I've been quite for a moment because my smoke alarm went off. One to many candles me think....

Marty, I think she was too "smart" for those traps at JFK and is even more leary now.

Anyone know is they will be searching through the night?

do the homes in NY have fenced in back yards. they need to have that girl play with vivi and get her in the back yard and close the gate door.

Okay where is Brian. They have to know we are waiting

Just returned from a day trip to visit the retired Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in Stevenson, Md. I told them all about Vivi and how wonderful, kind and dedicated the people were on this site.
They (40 of them) prayed OUT LOUD for her safe return. They promised me they would "storm the heavens" for that precious pup. It was very touching.
Well, I haven't even said hello to my husband- came right to this site.
Hope "storming the heavens" gives us the miracle we want. And he said "a child will lead them."
Leave it to Vivi to make friends with a little.

It's so dark out there now they won't see anything. I'm hoping with the candle lighting they will get a sighting call than I think they would go out.

I wish someone would update the site...

Has anyone heard from anyone anywhere?

Marnie, yes Brian is a genius. I think we could thank him for helping keep this story alive.

I contacted a good friend who lives near Bayside. They are still in Florida. But anyhow, I told them a bit about what was going on and about the hotel Brian works for. She said it is one elegant "joint" and they have a great chef. She suggested I venture on over to the site and I did.

There is a bio of Brian there. Some resume. He does know what he is talking about.

Loretta, that is really cool! I like that "storm the heavens"... I guess in a way, we "storm the earth".

All the wonderful people who went tracking today, are probably tired and hungry, I wish we could all be there too

Sharon can you list the site I'd like to take a look.

Hey everyone I've posted a couple of albums of Vivi and some pictures that I had of her siblings at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/teamvivi/. I've also posted a few of my favorite pictures of Bliss.

Getting ready to send really good energy!

I just found this wonderful site to light an Internet candle. It was posted in a message on Whippet World.

Hey everyone, Renee here..it's around 8:30 (EST),I just got home from over 10 hours of searching/watching/posting flyers. We didn't really take any breaks except for the 15-20 minute lunch break to eat which sort of ate while we sat in the car and finished our lunch while driving. Judy and Barbara picked me up at 9am and we got over to the Peck Park meeting area at around 9:30 and waited for everyone else to arrive. Dina who we all met for the first time arrived, then Linda and Darlene. We weren't sure when Laura and the dogs were getting there so we ventured off to the area around Flushing Cemetery and posted flyers everywhere, I ended up by Bagley Avenue next to the cemetary and I approached a woman walking her dog and asked if she knew about Vivi and to my surprise she said that her daughter say Vivi last night and that Vivi tried to follow her daughter as if she wanted to play. Of course I quickly realized that was the little girl that the sighting on this site was about. Her mother said her daughter was positive it was Vivi when she had shown her the flyer. She said it was around 6pm, right around dinner time and she thinks maybe somehow Vivi smelled people in the area cooking dinner and that's what lured her to the area. Later on while I was posting more flyers on Bagley Avenue I approached two women that were getting out of their car in their driveway. One of the women said her daughter (who was sitting in the backseat of the car) also spotted Vivi a couple of days ago in the morning, standing on the corner. But they didn't know about Vivi and didn't realize she was the "dog from the airport" as they put it. So Barbara and I made sure to explain to the little girl not to chase her if she or her friends see Vivi again, but to stay low to the ground and also to try to get her to follow them into a yard if possible and close the gate. So at least now everyone in that area will be on the lookout. We put TONS of flyers up, all around the cemetery, we posted them up all around Kissena Park, Kissena Corrider Park, up and down all the major roads, near PS 107 school and another school, as well as tons of areas, intersections, and as many residential blocks as we could cover. Later on around 1 or 1:30pm Laura, the tracking dogs and her assistants met up with us, we showed her on the map the areas we had covered etc. She gave us some other areas to cover so we headed back out. We continued covering as much ground as we could, there were four of us working in teams, with our staple guns and tape. My hand is actually extremely sore from the industrial size staple gun so it's aching as I type so I'll keep this story as brief as I can, I just want to make sure I get as much info to you guys as I can since I know you are all waiting on pins and needles.
We watched Laura's golden retriever (Chewey I think is his name) track the area where the little girl spotted Vivi, Chewey was very interested in one area in particulare, so later on, Bo, Laura, Sam and Rosa came back with a trap and set it someone's yard and then they left. We ventured back out for awhile, cruising the area, put up more flyers then we returned to silently "watch" the yard where the trap was set in hopes of seeing Vivi. We stayed there in the car from 5pm until about 7:30pm, it was dusk so we thought there would be a good chance she would be out again hopefully looking for food. It was just the three of us, Me, Judy and Barbara there, everyone else had left at about 5. I think at around 4 or so Darlene and Debbie had headed out to Brooklyn to help look for Sniffles but I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that's what Darlene had mentioned earlier when I was with her. A little after 7:30, the three of us decided to head home, we had been out since about 9:30am or so and we were all pretty exhausted. It's also very cold and windy again tonight so we had our doubts we would spot Vivi out there. But of course it was torture leaving, we felt like as soon as we left she might pop out. That's about all the info I can think of right now..I didn't really talk to Bo too much but we did get to talk with Laura. She has to head back home tomorrow morning I think. Hopefully Sam(her assistant) can stay to check the trap etc. Ok, I have to feed my angry cat and relax for a bit, feel free to ask any questions you want, I'll be here.

*keeping hope & faith alive here in nyc*
We love you Vivi

You're right Loretta
"a child will lead them" let's keep this child in mind and pray that she will be the significant one to lure Vivi closer.

Renee, thank you from those of us that aren't able to search with you. I appreciate you taking time out (even though you are exhausted) to update those of us that have been waiting...Thank you Renee, you are an angel.

I just sent an e-mail to Diane about the posters, they want large ones on like cardboard we picked up thousands today at the airport along with the traps. Laura needs large posters 2ftx3ft flourescent like bright pink with a poster of vivi enlarged and attached(thats what Bo wants) and on top of that big bold letters saying lost dog $5000.00 reward and the phone numbers, Diane may have not been there when they decided on the latest flyers, Staples sells in like 5packs Darlene said,as she has made up the other ones that really catch your eye. They want them at intersections where people can see from their cars when they stop at lights. I left brian an e-mail to double check with laura and Bo.

Okay... my guy just surfaced and swears he is calling the fire department!! He couldn't believe the glow in our home! Where are those darts? Hey, there is an old song from the 80's called "Whip It" and I've heard it four times on the radio in the last two days! Not that the lyrics apply, but I found that interesting.... the main line in the song is "Whip It" and it's an old song. I never, ever listen to the radio in the car, but have been, and I always hear "Whip It." Messages... our little girl is right there! Oh, local fire department just refused to come over... they know about Vivi!! (My husband is a HUGE dog lover, so don't get me wrong here... our Ridgebacks sleep in the bed with us...and rule our home!) Marnie in PB, CA

Renee, did the first little girl see Vivi in her yard or neighbors yard when she was outside playing? Just curious where her mom was - no, I'm not trying to be Dr. Laura Schlessinger here--just trying to get a better picture of where she was...
:)

Thanks for the update Renee and for all of your hard work today.

Renee-- thank you for the detailed report of your day! It's so helpful to those of us who are far away. Our thoughts are with you all day, and boy, do we wish we could be right there helping you out. So good that you are talking to people -- finding sightings like that!

This little dog has a lot of love coming her way. If she would just slow down for a little while and trust us to care for her. I'm sure that is very difficult for her to do.

Hopefully, we will hear something from Brian soon.

Renee, thank you!

Marnie what does a ridgeback look like,

Shawn, thanks for posting the sibling pictures to the TeamVivi group.
Question: Are any of Vivi's siblings or her mother close enough to NY to come here. I remember a story of a lost whippet that was found, but couldn't be caught until they brought the mother in and then she/he went right up to the mother. Just a thought. It might work if it's practical, since the search team is so close now. I've heard of whippets that go crazy when they meet up with a sibling even though they've been separated for a long time.
Sheila

dear Renee, you must be tired, thank you so much for all of your hard work, when you get a chance check out shawn westbrooks comments, he has vivi's sibling, he has posted some photo's .

Thank you Renee. Forgive me as you worked so hard...it just wasn't the message I wanted to hear.

how can I pull up and see the pictures of vivi family

Renee

Darlene and I were wondering what happened to everyone, we went to the airport to pick up the traps and lo and behold Port Authority took us into the restricted area noone could get into, we went into the hangers they had vivis trap in, so sad to see her little blanket in there and got another from the vetport with another blanket almost brought you to tears to see the actual place where her trap was and then brought them to horse farm, then I finished posting areas that weren't done, tomorrow we do Sniffles me and Darlen , pretty tiring past 2 days, need new shoes after tomorrow.

Renee-
What a wonderful person you are! Thank you for keeping us all in the loop.

Debbie, thank you for your hard work today, you must be tired tooo

Thank you, Renee. You are an amazing person (as are all of you). Today's events make me so grateful that Laura is able to be there. Hopefully the moment we've so anxiously awaited will soon be before us. Thanks for the humor tonight - its times like this when I'm thankful I don't have a husband!

Spent 8 hours today with the search party. There were actually several search parties out there. One of them just went out posting fliers and canvassing the neighborhood. I started out by myself just walking thru the wooded areas near the golf course again, then went to Kissena Park around the lake and looked thru my binoculars from several different vantage points. I also went thru Flushing Cemetery from the inside and looked with my binoculars from different sections of the cemetery as i drove slowly around. Saw nothing. . . Then called Rosa and we all met up at Peck Ave and Utopia Pkwy around 1pm.

Rosa, Tina, Laura, Sam (Laura's partner), and Bo, plus myself were on one team while Darlene and others went out separately to do whatever they did. Our team went out in several different cars, Bo and Laura in one car, Sam and the dogs in another car, Rosa and Tina in their car and me in mine.

We all went to the little girls' house near the cemetery. Checked the backyard, talked to the owners and after I noticed the little playhouse/shed, I asked the owner if she would consider leaving the door open for Vivi. She said of course. I asked her later on if she had a baby monitor to put in the shed area as well. In case Vivi did come around (they put an article of clothing from one of the owners in there to attract her to their scent), she would hear it and call. She agreed to this as well as she had an old baby monitor lying about somewhere.

We then went to the horse stable that lies right in the middle of the neighborhood near the cemetery and talked to the owners there who were very kind and cooperative and allowed us to set a trap for Vivi on the outside portion of the stables in a sort of long trailer bed where they keep some hay.
Although we couldn't figure out how to set these traps (Darlene had picked them up from JFK where they had been used to bait Vivi originally from there), we did leave it propped open for her so that just in case she paid a visit to them, she would have some sort of place to take shelter in as well as things of the family to sleep on. A little bit of food was left too.

At one point we (Rosa, Tina, Sam, Laura and Bo and myself) had lunch at the Blue Bay Diner. Bo was a gentleman and paid for all the girls. Thank you Bo! Also another volunteer, Bobbi, joined us for the conversation only, no meal.

Then we went back to work. We split up this time. Laura and Bo went with Tina to the apartments at the 210th St area and searched for any scents around there. Nothing really substantial to yell about. Rosa, Sam and I went back to the horse stable to see if her golden retriever, Brando, could pick up a scent there. I went with Sam while Rosa was on the phone in the car. Sam taught me a little about what it's like to track a scent down. First of all, there was a big disadvantage. It was quite windy out. Therefore although Brando did seem to pick up a scent at the horse stable, it could've been blown thru the air from the cemetery. Very similar to smelling smoke as it drifts in from a distance. He did go to that trailer bed several times however and stayed there as if pondering. Then he went all along the stable doors and the perimeter and seemed to pick up a stronger scent towards the front of the property, but again it could've been blown in from the cemetery area, she explained. He continued across the street and all along the side of the cemetery. Then stopped and raised his head as if picking up the scent again from the inside of the cemetery when the wind blew. I asked Sam if the wind detracted from the scent and she said that ideally, the day should be very calm with no wind and even a damp day would be good because it brings out the smell even more, but on days like this, there really isn't a bullseye type of conclusion to go by. Then we went back to the little girl's yard and had Brando sniff over there. He ambled along and went right to the house in question, in the back yard, then all along the front of the house and to the side. He got excited at one point as he passed a wooden fence, that was right in back of the little girl's house and started pawing at it excitedly. We led him around it to the other side and there was nothing but garbage pails there, and a bag of manure or soil of some type that was open. All in all, any conclusions that might be drawn from this are purely subjective at most. The wind seemed to be the biggest disadvantage today and couldn't lead to any solid clues.

Unfortunately Laura plans to go back tomorrow morning at 9am as she runs a kennel there and has to back. I don't know if Sam is going to stay. Probably not. Bo is planning on going back on Monday.

I took a few photos of some of the volunteers where we all met up. If you care to take a peek, just click on this link. Thanks.

Rosa: Yes I have seen palm trees. today I went on a drive with my friend, went snorkeling for the first time and saw a young sea turtle and amazing fish, then sat on the shore and watched a whale breeching in every way possible. Then read my book A Dog Year and then came back and checked the blog as soon as I got in and lit a candle at 3. Fortunately there are people making me leave the house.

He is now asking about Vivi alot. First he was pretending to be interested as a joke and now he really is.

This afternoon searched Bagley Ave.neighborhood, then Kissena Park. Spoke to lots of people and gave out flyers. Many were surprised to hear that she's been seen nearby, even though the posters are plastered everywhere. The "personal touch" does help to pique interest.

Walked the thick woods on the Peck Park perimeter of the Kissena Golf Course. I took the high path that lets you see the golf course too, and my friend took the low path.

Am hoping that the trap we dropped off from Babylon Town Shelter a few weeks ago is used tonight. It had Vivi's towel in it at the Vetport.

Marty, to get the photos, go back to shawns comments and click on the website he lists. you might have to fill out a yahoo sign-in thing, it's free. then you can access the pixs

Laurie: Well the little girl's mother said her daughter was 'out front', which in Queens, NY terms can mean directly in front of her own house or somewhere on the block. For some reason we New Yorker's tend to be a little vague with certain things like that, but I definitely got the impression based on how she was telling me the story that her daughter had been very close to the house when Vivi was following her. I nearly started crying when the woman told me her daughter said Vivi seemed like she wanted to play. It broke my heart. It took all I had in me to hold it together to continue our conversation. I was just so thankful I ran into her and the other family that had seen Vivi as well, it felt like karma.

Yes, Marty, I too kept "watching the news hoping something would be said and the news channels would say something every once in awhile but then they stopped. Every day I would go to google and type in every news channel hoping I would find something. ViVi never left my mind." I was frantic for fresh news and not the same old stories. This blog has been terrific. Being on my own in Vivi-land made me feel isolated and totally nuts. Now that I've found you all I don't feel isolated any more. I do, still, feel totally nuts.

The candle was lit here in Philadelphia at 8:00. I told Margaret, my "significant other", why I was lighting the candle. She just rolled her eyes. Therefore I didn't tell her that I was imagining Vivi safely resting in her crate, feeling warm and protected. She would truly believe I'd gone over the edge. I don't think I've gone over the edge. It seems perfectly reasonable when I am on the blog with you all.

Thanks EVERYONE for all you are doing for Vivi, Sniffles, Biggie and for each other.

Teresa

If Laura needs to go back, she needs to go back. As a group we hired her (although, I haven't heard back from her as to whether she is going to mail me a bill or...?) Trust me, I'm disappointed as well. I was under the understanding she was staying through Monday and then her assistant would take over; however, there are some things we just can't control and this appears to be one of them.

Is there someone out there that has been in contact with her recently and feels comfortable talking with her to find out what we should do next? It is possible this has already been done but I haven't heard. I guess it would be a "debriefing" of sorts.

HI EVERYONE!!!!! I must tell you how wonderful the candle vigile is feeling in the energies! WOW I was feeling so much force to bring a deep connection linking Paul with Vivi thisafternoon about 1pm WI time. I am with the other pup relatives of Vivi's and Linda and Michael Allen in Appleton so we are holding the space here big time. I did psychically see Vivi with a group of children last evening and a taller female. So this is great news to see the physical taking place. We are just keeping the focus and space held so tommorrow we will have even better contact. If anyone can get to Paul let him know that we are still in psychic contact and viewfinding with them as he is workingn through the areas. I keep seeing Vivi between the two places last sighted so this area is hot. I see her jogging along an open green area with tall trees along one side and then a street with houses. I keep seeing that wooden gate next to a front porch to a bungalow style house so if this sounds familiar to the group that's great. Now for our vigile of meditation and the candle---visualize vivi coming when called for Paul is to keep calling her---even in meditation. If we keep this force going we should have a successful outcome. i will check in later since I am with Linda and Michael on their computer. We will try to check before we leave early in the mornig for the clinic with the hoard of whippet relatives---Quinn, Truman, Royal, Velvet, Brit, and Cambrie. so we have some really hot cellular connection going on here. thankx so much for all your efforts theough so many states! This is fantastic to work with so much power toward one common good! Blessing to all and Vivi. Later. Gale

Donna the pictures are great, thank you for all you've done

A candle was lit in New Jersey at 8:45 when I got home from dinner. I know what you mean about people thinking you are totally nuts. This blog is wonderful. . .at least I know that I am not the only person who feels the way I do. Please let Vivi be found, and Sniffles and Biggie (I have a pug, too).

Thank you, everyone, for everything you are doing to help find Vivi. . .I wish I could be there, too. I'm praying that she will be found tonight. . .

Debbie: We didn't know you guys had headed out to the airport, I thought maybe you had gone to Brooklyn to help with Sniffles. I guess we were all still out doing the flyers when you had left. As usual we all definitely still had some 'communication' issues going on, but at least it was better today than it was the last few weekends *smiles*. It's not easy getting everything organized and cooridinated that's for sure.

-Renee

Donna, Thank you! Thank you! for the photos. It means so much to actually see the search in progress and to "meet" the wonderful volunteers. You are all such angels!

Thanks for the photos, Donna! And the updates from the field from all those who have taken the time after a long, tiring day to share with us what is going on. AWESOME!

yes the tracking dogs are very helpful, but really they can only confirm where she's been, she will be found very soon, I know it!

Donna: any chance you can email me the pics, as jpegs? For some reason my computer is having issues, it won't open the zip file of course.

Renee

Lillie - Thanks, actually I thought I had more pics as Debbie came by later on with Mike and Linda but when I took their picture, I must've forgotten to open up the lens on my camera, because my hands were so cold at that point and wound up with nothing. oh well. . .sorry about that guys.

STOP THE PRESSES. Please see Debbie's posting at 9:04 this evening. After I left they apparently decided that they wan 3foot x 2foot florescent posters made with a blow up of Vivi's picture. Sorry for any confusion but I just heard about it myself.

Renee - Sure, I'll mail it to you separately. Sorry you weren't there when I took the pics. You're a really pretty person inside and out.

Candles still burning. Thanks everyone for the updates on the search. We cannot thank you enough for searching for her ALL day. Hopefully your hard work will pay off soon. Here is an update from Biggie's mom:

oh wow Courtney i am so thankful between this and my daughters i feel like im lost...i wish there was some way i could repay you...if there is anything i could ever ever help you with please feel free to email me for anything..i'll even help out looking for other people's dog or cats whatever...i miss him so much..i hate to say this but i actually am more upset by this than i have been in the past over mlosing certain family members...weird huh..but honest...he is just like a son to me..my husband use to say you love him more than you do me and i would reply well he's more loyal...lol well he was lost in woodside sunnyside close to the bqe...but he was not gone 2 minutes before we all ran around looking for him..so he has to be somewhere in that vicinity unless someone put him in their car and decided to keep him...but ill keep you updated and please do the same...thanks sharon

Donna thank you for the pictures. I gives us alttle more of an idea of the neighborhood she is in. Hopefully she'll go to one of the traps tomorrow. We'll anyone be looking for her tomorrow?

Donna-Thank you for the update and especially the photos!!! Renee-thank you too! Thank you to EVERYONE who has been out there today trying to find Vivi. So close. In spite of the windy day there, it does sound like progress. I don't want to exaggerate the situation, but am I getting the wrong impression from the reports coming in? We DO know conclusively the exact area where Vivi is, right?

Hi Linda from NY here. could not write earlier.
Had to relax a bit, from the day's stress.

My husband Mike & I were out from 10am. to 7pm.
Canvassing and putting up flyers, the whole time.
stopping briefly for lunch and then continuning.

We Drove to the meeting place Utopia Ave & Peck .
From there I had the pleasure of meeting everyone involved , in the search for VIVI.
The sincerity is overwhelming.
as a team we accomplished a lot today.

we plastered poster up and down block 's
on all utility poles. Stop people and handed them flyers .

Many people where aware of Vivi & some where not.

The saddist for me , was when they brought the cage, with vivi blanket and water bowl.
That just tore at my heart.

Incidentally, we've noticed that there were postings for several other missing dogs.
I would guess that these owners, take their dogs to the park for excercise, unleash them to run & they don't come back....

Hopefully this little girl will be found soon, and all the other lost angels as well.

Linda

Okay I wish I knew if the wooden gate next to a porch is at the little girl's house that Gail the animal communicator is talking about. Like I said when vivi comes back the little girl has to get vivi in the back yard. See I have everything figured out. She is saying Paul though. She is saying get word to Paul and not bo

Donna: Thanks so much for the pics! They are great. Even though I was there today it's still great to have these pics..you read my mind, I will definitely add them to my Vivi Website!

Renee

Donna,
thanks for the pictures, they are wonderful.

Linda

Anybody know what the plans are for tomorrow. Meeting place, time, etc.

Marty -
Vivi seems to be getting into the little girl's yard from an opening in the back area that leads to a little alleyway between 2 apartment-like houses in the back of their yard behind a garage like building. There is no wooden fence in the little girl's yard. The wooden fence starts on the next piece of property in back of their house along the sidewalk area, which fences in another back yard that connects to it from the alleyway I believe. So if they blocked this area, then Vivi wouldn't have access to the yard or the littel play shed. When we talked to the mother, about Vivi and how she looked, I asked her what condition Vivi was in. Did she looked emaciated? Did she look ok? She said that Vivi was skinnier and dirtier looking than what she saw in the photo, but it was her, she was pretty sure.

Linda

How do you think I felt going into the hanger at the airport where that crate was with the comforter wrapped around it with the blankets and food bowls in it, just bending down and looking into it killed me and then having to load it into Darlenes truck and unloading it and a piece of food fell out into her truck, That was the hardest part of this whole ordeal. You know the feeling right just seeing it.

HI I linked Paul and Bo energetically today about 1pm my time and I'm in WI so that was 2pm NY time. Now they are energetically linked with the group energies to Vivi and the energy is building between them and drawing the connection closer with every additional person visualizing and sending the holding force to bring her back in body to be found and grabbed !!!! so we are going to go into deep meditation now so I wil be off blog till later sunday if I can get back in early before we leave for the clinic with the whippet hoard I will. but I will still be doing the psychic work regardless (I am so multidimensional I work in my sleep). thankx again for the estra force to work with. VIVI WHIPPET!!!!! Come on home girl!!!!!!!

Linda - Sorry I didn't get your pic or Mike's or Debbie's to go thru. I thought I was going senile as I kept looking for it, but couldn't find it. Then I realized that I probably never even opened the lens on the camera. I also had some pics of Sam with Brando on her leash as she was going into the horse stable, but when I looked at the pics
afterwards, sll I saw was one photo of Brando's rear end and Sam's lower body only. Hardly a prize winning photo. I had somehow totally cut the picture in half. And the other two that I KNEW I took of Brando were totally missing altogether as I had only 2 shots of the dirt and someone's footprints! After I saw that, I knew I must've been really tired. I was probably looking in the wrong end of the camera. (hee-hee).

Anyway, thanks everyone for the thanks!

Linda
I know how you feel about seeing vivis crate.
How do you think I felt going into the hanger at the airport where that crate was with the comforter wrapped around it with the blankets and food bowls in it, just bending down and looking into it killed me and then having to load it into Darlenes truck and unloading it.I think you were there when it was unloaded from her truck and then a piece of kibble fell out into her truck Darlene and I just looked at each other with that look. That was the hardest part of this whole ordeal. You know the feeling right just seeing it.

I know Debbie , that imagine is going to be with me all night. I am sure with you also.....

There are so many nook's and cranies for a dog to hide.

She needs to be found ....
Linda

sorry for the double post computer acting up.

Linda

Especially next to the golf course is the treatment plant that runs along underhill . I looked in there yesterday great place to hide I looked inside a garbage can that was turned on its side. There was a house across the street from where they set up the ladys backyard, and she was just coming home. I gave her a flyer because I noticed she had a dog house in her yard she didn' know anything about vivi so I told her and her daughter to watch, they have a german shepherd named Elvis who came out to greet me., so vivi could have crossed the street and slept there.

Does anyone know if Sam is staying tomorrow or is everyone going home?

Debbie,
While Mike & I were putting up flyers, by 162 and up we noitced a lot of construction, site's.

New houses being built.

we looked as best we could, and put flyers,
on those polls.

I called her name & we listened.

Debbie - Talking about that treatment plant, it reminded me of something. Coincidentally it seems, the other day when I was out there searching in the woods, I met up with a nice lady named Penny who was walking her two dogs. Rosa, Tina and Denise from the column were there as well, but decided to check out the park area further down, while i went thru the woods along the gold course on Underhill. Anyway, this woman Penny and I walked the whole expanse of the woods on the outside to the very end near the park. I decided to go back thru the wooded area while she turned around and walked her dogs back along te outside part. To get to the point, today as I was talking to the mother of the little girl who saw Vivi, I thought she looked so familiar and then remembered her name. It turns out that Penny is the little girl's mother! Small world, huh?
And the reason the treatment plant reminded me of Penny is because of what Penny said to me that day. That the treatment plant was an old Indian ground that the Indians used because the area there was so much warmer than the areas around it for some reason.

Yes, there is a lot of construction in the entire area and I've noticed that some of the fencing has holes large enough for a Whip to crawl through. I've also noticed some yards that were used to store junk, old cars, old furniture, etc.

I'm sure that Laura will discuss this with the relevant people, but just in case, I have a couple of suggestions about the humane traps. I have been involved in trapping several wayward greyhounds over the years and it is VERY important to make sure the traps are in excellent working order. The absolute WORST thing that can happen is to have the dog you're trying to trap finally go INTO the trap, only to escape because the trap is not set properly or is dirty/rusty and does not close fast enough. Believe me, I've had this happen to me, and I learned my lesson.

Remember, you are trying to capture a very wary and terrified animal, who is going to be very keyed up going into a confined space like a trap. In addition, this is not your average dog, but a sighthound with lightening reflexes who is naturally very quick.

Someone should inspect all the traps set today and make sure that the mechanisms are scrupulously clean (power-washing the trap is best, but I know that is probably not possible now). Get a can of WD-40 and lubricate all moving parts very well. Trip the mechanism several times to ensure that all is working well. Make sure that the bait is placed all the way at the front of the trap, preferably in an old nylon stocking tied to the ceiling so the dog has to go all the way in and reach up to get the goodie. This increases the likelihood that they will step on the trip plate and get caught.

I saw that someone posted tonight that when they set up a trap at the horse farm, they didn't know how it worked so they just propped the door open. This is not a bad strategy as long as the door is very securely held and can't fall down inadvertantly and scare the dog. This would be the same as the dog getting out of the trap when it springs, and would probably result in Vivi refusing to enter another trap. I have sometimes, however, put traps out with the doors held open securely open and bait inside so the dog gets comfortable for several nights going into the trap before actually trying to finally trap him.

I'm sure that this information is no news to those who have bben charged with setting the traps, but I thought I'd post it here just in case.

I am so overwhelmed to read about everyone who spent so much time and energy today trying to help Vivi, those in NYC and those at home lighting candles so she can find her way home.

This is a wonderful group of people.

Jill - yes the trap wasn't at all working properly. I even went in it myself and tried to trip the plate, but nothing happened. So either we were setting it up improperly or something was malfunctioning on it. In any case, it was my idea to take the long thin bar that connects the spring plate inside to the outer drop door and just slide it thru the under portion of the door which now lays in a horizontal position, so that it would be impossible for it to drop. Bo also preferred this procedure rather than to risk the trap malfunctioning and possibly scaring her off for good or worse yet, hurting her.

Jill, that's very useful information. I think one of the searchers should definitely try all those ideas if they haven't done so yet...especially checking the doors and oiling the traps. We sure don't want her to get spooked of the traps.

Nicole

Great to hear all worked out Donna...you all are so wonderful and quick thinking!
Nicole

It was great to meet everyone today. Any info about plans for meeting/searching/putting up flyers tomorrow?

Dina

Dina - Are you the one who owns Hubbard the greyhound? If so, I'm sorry I didn't catch your name. I was thinking 'Diane' and then thought that it might be better to not say ANY name at all other than owner.

Donna - no, you were right, that was Diane. I was there today, putting up flyers with Renee, Judy and Barbara. Did you hear anything about tomorrow...where we should concentrate with the flyers? Dina

Dina -
I know that Laura mentioned wanting to scout a few areas before she left for home tomorrow at 9am, but other than that, she just wants volunteers to keep on posting fliers on their own time, in an ever growing concentric circle, north/west/east/and south from the area where Vivi has been spotted lately. In this way we can always keep ahead of her with people recognizing her as she pops up in their section of the neighborhood, instead of trailing behind her and never catching up.

Has Laura or anyone talked about a strategy of putting food and water out for her. Anywhere you think she might go or might have been. The people that have the little girl that might have seen her, should keep food and water for her in their yard at all times... and in the barn area... food and water checked everyday. If she has a place she can reliably get food and water she might continue to return to the same spot and them the spot can be monitored in till she can be seen and captured.

Jill
The 2 traps we pick up one had the tripplate when you step on it it snaps the door shut and that trap was the one they left the door open because we didn' know how to set we just dropped it off. The dog handlers would know , it was set at the airport and that trap was spotless looked brand new, they still had the food bowls in the back so it would have to trip when stepped on it looked like it was still set at the airport as they have
not touched it since she got out stayed in same spot till we got it., I did not see them reset it up as I had left at that point, But that trap looked spotless. They also has the trap wrapped with a comforter so it did not look like a trap, it looked like a cozy place a dog would want to go into and sleep.I tell you at the end of the day I felt like crawling in it.

Has Laura or anyone talked about a strategy of putting food and water out for her. Anywhere you think she might go or might have been. The people that have the little girl that might have seen her, should keep food and water for her in their yard at all times... and in the barn area... food and water checked everyday. I'm wondering if they took the dogs into that plant, I don't think they did yesterday but you know the land to the left of it, she did take her rottie there and I don't think much came up, more so the golf course, so maybe vivi didn't go into there otherwise he would have pulled her there.

Cherie from Rhode Island just called and she posted flyers all onto cars in apartment building parking lots on the poles in front of churches and schools and further away from the areas posted today and is now driving back to Rhode Island just got here at 6pm went to staples in Bayside and printerd flyers and bought tape since we were not there to meet her when she came in to give her supplies we didn't know what time she would be in. bless that girl.

LOOK FOR DENISE UPDATE IN THE NEXT FEW MINUTES.......WE ARE PLANNING A FULL SEARCH ON SUNDAY.....BRIAN

I just got a geat link sent from Jackie Levin, who doesn't know how to "blog". It shows exactly how to set the trap. If anyone could make sure that Rosa or Tina or Bo gets this, it would be greatly appreciated.

www.havahart.com/nuisance/Instructions/1081.pdf

Susan - when we were setting up the food, I suggested to Laura that we also put out water for her, but since the plates were made of styrofoam at that point, she said that it would be a bad idea to place water in her trap, because if she accidentally got in there and knocked it over, she'd get all wet and in those temps, she'd freeze to death for sure being trapped in there. But if the water was placed in one of those bowls that won't knock over, that might be different, or better yet, just put her bowl anywhere in the vicinity just so that it would be available to her.

Debbie - I know that while I was with them today, they never went near the plant. They were concentrating on the little girl's house and the cemetery area mainly.

Donna,
That's what I meant... putting both water and food out... not necessarily in the trap. She needs water maybe even more than food, and if she can find a reliable source for both... maybe we could keep her returning to the same spot. I was hoping someone suggested to the family with the little girl to keep both food and water out for her on a consistent basis, so it would encourage her to keep returning. Using food and water as a lure to keep her returning to the same place, I thought maybe it would be a good way to find and capture her.

Donna anything near the cemetary, yesterday was the golf course and park, tomorrow they are meeting again at 8am and 10am they just wrote, they need posters placed again so I guess they need volunteers again to check the traps that's what denise just wrote on I guess it's THE NEW site.

From what was just wrote they need volunteers at 8am and 10am to help again, just bring staplers and tape as they said they have the posters,I guess another area needs to be done to keep her in flushing.

START A NEW MESSAGE UNDER SUNDAY MEETINGS

The reason they haven't been doing that I think- I've been out for awhile- is that they wanted to leave the next blog for specific information relevant to the search so the main searchers wouldn't have to wade through our many interesting and funny comments. Maybe someone can update the plan.

Here are the comments from earlier that I was referring to. Maybe these are the day bloggers and the night bloggers know nothing about it:

Hey guys...I have a thought (scary isn't it). When they update the "blog" tonight, how about if we (the out of towners) keep using this thread to "discuss" and leave the new one for search related information (i.e. where they will be meeting, what area they will be searching, etc.). That way, the people doing the searching will be able to check the blog and not have to search through our "stuff". What do you think?

Posted by: Lois Baker |

Lois, If a new blog comes up, someone should try to put a comment first, reminding others to save this space for updated info....I typed this in earlier but it must have gone off into outer space, because I don't see it. My husband came through a few minutes ago and saw my plate of candles burning and said, don't tell me, the dogs!!

Posted by: Lillie |

It's 2 AM my time and I woke up from a fitful sleep. I figured I'd check the "blog"...just in case that beloved word FOUND would be the initial thread of the day...Okay so it's not but I'm not giving up hope.

It sounds like there may be a bunch of people that are putting up their own money to purchase supplies (staplers, staples, posters, etc.). I would like to thow out the suggestion to the group that we reimburse these people for some of their expenses...perhaps mail a receipt and I'll mail a check? What do you think?

Sorry, I meant to type "throw"...

That's fine, especially for the printing expenses, if they want to be reimbursed. I sent a case of tape but you don't have to reimburse me, my contribution was less than some and I figured that was just part of it.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! ********QUESTION: SINCE BO HAS BEEN ON FOOT IN MOST OF THE AREA'S THAT THINK VIVI IS TRAVELING, IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SHE WILL PICK UP HIS SCENT AND STAY IN THOSE AREA'S BECAUSE IT IS FAMILURE TO HER? WOULDN'T THAT BE A GOOD THING.I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT DOG TRACKING, JUST THOUGHT MAYBE THAT WILL KEEP HER THERE..ANY THOUGHT'S? JUST GRASPING AT STRAWS HERE. ROSA

I don't know if she can pick up his scent good point though, wind here is so strong lately, I know the tracking dogs did work by catching the wind sort of, for example if the wind is blowing vivi's scent it gets trapped on trees and the dogs can sort of scent it on them or they are low to the ground as I saw them sniffing trees and along fences and on the ground on Friday, pretty amazing, if they sniff west of golf course and wind is blowing east to west they kind of know vivi was east of course the way wind was comin from. Make sense, hard to expain unless you were there to see and feel the wind.

Good luck to Bo and the searchers today, I wish so badly I could be there helping. I held Bliss tight this morning and prayed that they would find Vivi this weekend, hopefully today. It sounds like they are so close.

Marnie...if you are here! This is the "thread" I was saying the "rest of us" should hang out on! :)

Does any know where they think she has been sleeping. that would be a good place to put a trap. Maybe they did

I need something clarified. Do we still need flyers (8 1/2 by 11 paper) or do the organizers only want posters 2 ft X 3 ft bright cardboard)?Yesterday, Maggie sent Staples an email with the master copy of a flier for VIVI that she herself made a couple thousand copies to mail to Diane. She was also trying to email the copy to Kinko's. Both these copy shops are in the Flushing area - address and phone #s provided by Diane. The thought was those of us who wanted to contribute could call the store and order copies. Diane offered to pick up from Kinko's and was going to find someone to pickup from Staples. It sounds like now they only want posters (2 ft x 3ft). Am I correct?

Maggie: Were you able to contact Kinko's?

Diane: If fliers are still needed, would you let me know when you need more fliers? Sounds like Maggie is sending a lot of them. Click on my name and you can get my email address.

IF it is only posters they want, does anyone know if Kinkos or Staples can make blow up copies of the flier on poster size cardboards?

I am leaving for a business trip and can't make posters, but could certainly order fliers from the Staples or Kinkos in Flushing if more are needed.

I will also post this on the other blog --perhaps one of the organizers can respond.

They want 3 ft by 2 ft florescent posters with a blow-up of Vivi at the top. This was decided a few hours after my original post. They apparently have plenty of 8x10 flyers. Kinkos is in Manhasset, around the corner from my office. I can pick those up and make contact with Rosa. Staples is in the search area and anybody can pick them up. I believe both places can make what has been requested by Laura.

Hey guys, I will be away from the computer until early afternoon (CST). If you need to reach me, call my cell: 612-770-0930. Let me know if anything happens.

If someone can try to reach one of the searchers to find out if they need flyers as well as posters, let me know.

Maybe, that ad wouldn't be such a bad idea at this point? I can't remember the newspapers Brian was talking about...the Queens paper is also an option...I'll check back later. I've got to go ride my ponies or next time they see me they are going to kick my *ss.

Hi guys, just checking in for the morning. The thought occurred to me that our "foot soldiers" Renee, Darlene, Debbie, et al are really spending a lot of time and energy and could use some more help. They are a smll army in a huge area. If we put a large ad in one or more papers, it occurred to me that that might be an opportunity to recruit more searchers/helpers. What I'm thinking would take some organizing, but what hasn't. If we put in the ad something like: "If you would like to help in the recovery efforts of Vivi, please call:--------". I was thinking maybe we could get a special hotline set up so no one would have to use their own personal phone number - it could maybe be set up to take messages only. That way we could sort out the nut calls from the serious ones. Maybe even some of us out of towners could be the ones to check it, take the good calls and forward to a point person or two in NYC who could let them know what kind of help we need - posting flyers, etc. We would need someone familiar with setting up this type system, maybe it could be an 800 number - I don't know how expesive this would be. What do you all think? I haven't read all the posts from yesterday and this am - but am assuming pd is leaving and we need to be on to next step - advertise, advertise, advertise. God, Vivi just slow down! Terrie

Terrie: I like that idea. Does someone have time to work up a large ad and contact a publication in the local area? If we could get a point person to handle that, we might be able to get the ad going this week and run it for a week or so. Then, by next weekend, we might have some other volunteers in the area to help out, if we need it.

New post on AWC site. BTW, I changed my name to SharonG but I am still the same Sharon from the Pocono area of PA to avoid any confision from any other Sharon that might post, of with Biggie's Mom.

UPDATE AS OF FRIDAY NIGHT 18 MARCH 2006
Bo is in New York and spent the day with search dog handler Laura Totis. They found an area near a park where Laura’s dog found strong scent of Vivi and what looked like a sleeping area. Bo was planning to do a "stake out" tonight at that location to see if Vivi shows up.

More tomorrow.

Paul Lepiane

Brian was discouraging a Queens NP ad, I forget why but the addition of seeking volunteers is a good idea.

Lois: what kind of horses do you have? I live in what they call "horse country" Virginia and had a horse for many years. After he died I decided I'd just see my friend's horses and I switched to dog agility somehow. Still love them.

I've been reading all the posts and frankly am at a dead end. It's obvious the people in the area don't read flyers as many had no idea a whippet was missing. We really need the media involved as most people do listen to the news on tv. I don't know the NY stations in that area maybe someone can post them and we can bombard them with emails. We've all put our money and time out for people and a dog we don't even know and I think it's about time the media advertise's the good deeds of others and gives us some help! I realize that some people look at it as "just a dog" but there are many of us (if not more) that see it differently. We need more media EXPOSURE.

Well, if Brian was discouraging an ad, then how do we get more volunteers? I'm not good at graphics but I'm sure someone out there is if we get the go ahead on an ad. Let's keep the idea out there. I think I'll e-mail my comment to Brian - see what he says. Terrie

Gail

Believe me when I tell you the papers will not do stories unless they have somthing really big on vivi as brian had said the other night, I couldnt get the nydaily news which is a big paper to redo the sniffles thing,I even talked to the writer who did the original story and he never got back to me, believe me people are trying their hardest here to get the media and papers to do more, I think local papers are putting it in.

OK, I just e-mailed Brian about the ad thing. Asked him just to post his reply here so that everyone would know what we should/should not do. Going to the dog park in a bit with the whippet - will try to catch up when I get back. Terrie

I also agree with Gail, Beth and Terrie. I will gladly be the point person to put an ad in the paper but I would need to know a) if we have enough money to place a large 1/2 page ad. . . I'm still uncertain as to where the first round of money is going and is the second round we sent to Lois going to pay Laura... Maybe someone else knows better than I... I checked a few days ago and there are a lot of papers in the Queens area - which one would be best. I've put advertisements in weekly 'free' publications and they are cheaper than the daily papers but someone thought the delay in waiting a week to print would not help us. So, I just need some additional info to proceed. Many people overlook the posters on the telephone poles. Even my husband who is an animal lover frequently drives by without reading but I make him pull over to read them. More people will see the ad (with a large photo of Vivi) if its sitting on their dining room table. Thoughts?

Well we sure can't afford a Billboard I just priced those. We need the Movie Stars to intervine that always gets the media's attention. This is NY after all, does anyone have the names or emails of some stars in the area that are animal lovers? We can try Betty White but she's on the west coast. Maybe we can get someone like that to help. Grasping at straws here.....

Laurie, that's my point. How many people get a parking ticket on their windshield and drive around all day with it there paying no attention to it? I do stop and read them because I am an animal lover. It's the women who will look at it. There must be grocery stores and malls in the area that the fliers can be put smack in front of their face on the windshield. The wrose that can happen is it gets thrown on the ground and someone else picks it up.

He's not a movie star but he probably knows some- Greg Louganis is from New York and was in the AKC National Agility finals with his Jack Russell. He's be a good one to get on board, but how?

Gail, it doesn't, at all, hurt to throw out ideas. That is why this forum is so powerful. How 'bout Christie Turlington-I think she did some 'fur is dead' ads with PETA a few years back. Anyone know if she is in NY or LA?

Laurie, thanks. I did e-mail Brian and hopefully he'll post his thoughts here - but I'll copy the e-mail I get back from him too, if I do hear back. Terrie

Terrie, great. Thx

Also Laurie, based on what was pledged - we should have plenty of money. But Lois will have a better idea. I'll be posting her address again for new bloggers who want to donate to ongoing effort - or for others who haven't had a chance to send in pledge yet, in fact, here it is:

I believe we still make checks out to her - but Lois you can verify this if you're listening.

I didn't know hwe was in NY. An email will be on the way.

What about leaving flyers attached to residential mailboxes - again more foot soldiers. But we had one in/on our mailbox for a lost cat last fall. Esp in neighborhoods where we think she's been hanging or will head. I realize this is huge undertaking. Terrie

Too funny, I just searched C. Turlington and found that she does public speaking engagements, too, thru All American Talent and Celeb Network but sounds way too expensive. We need to contact them directly.

T: I'm pretty sure attaching something to a mailbox is not permitted or maybe 'opening' the mailbox to insert a flyer is not permitted. I don't get the feeling they have mailboxes on the street; prob mail slots on the porch...I've never been there, so not sure.

I priced how much it would cost to have posters (2 ft x 3 ft) made by Kinkos and Staples based on master copy sent by Maggie yesterday. Staples will charge $27.31 for each one, no discounts for volume. Kinko's will charge $60.00 for the first one; $30 for each of the rest providing its from the same picture. This is more costly than I thought and probably not a practical solution.

Maybe the ad in the paper is the way to go.

Also, regarding a movie personality who likes animals--Christine Davis (I think that's her name. She played Charlotte in Sex & The City) is a big animal lover. Maybe if someone could find her publicists number she might be willing to lend her name.

Terrie, I did not suggest touching peoples mailboxes because than we are dealing with a government agency issue. I'd stay away from that. Most fliers we receive, like new pizza joints, etc, are thrown on our doorstep.

Does anyone know how much $$ we have left in the 'kitty' between the first round of donations and the ones sent to Lois? This will give me a better idea of size of ad if I call one of the newspaper outfits on Monday.

How about Bill Cosby. He owns dogs and shows at Westminster. I suggested him a while back.

I don't know him but I bet Bo might have some clue of someone who does.

Maybe it will work, maybe not.

I do agree people walk around all day never lookign in front of thier nose and, not everyone cares about animals.

Even the press.

I have been so upset over this one article that showed up from Google ALerts on Vivi.

At least it is press, but I am inches away from sending them an email. I will once I compose myself and write something that is critical but not off the wall po'ed.

It was in the San Jose Mercury which seems to be a regular newspaper, not a rag. If this article is picked up by other papers, it would upset me even more.

Yes, I am sure a few show dogs do not lead a typical loving dog life, but we all know Vivi did.

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/sports/14136855.htm

It's Kristin Davis and I'm not coming up with anything for her but a bunch of "groupie" pages.

Sharon, that news reporter needs to be on the run like Vivi for a few days. He'd change his mind fast.

ok......lets start with laura....she needs to know when she will be paid...she has been here twice and never recieved a dime....no deposit and no amount has been finalized....i offered to pay her last night but she was wierd about it...her partner said she has done this for free for years....and has now tried to turn it into a biz...she is very shy about money and wont ask about it...IF WE WANT HER BACK WE NEED TO PAY HER ASAP...I NEVER SAID DONT DO A QUEENS AD...I SAID A DAILY NEWS AD OR A POST AD WILL BE MORE EFFECTIVE...THE LITTLE LOCAL PAPERS ARE NOT READ IMMEADITLY...THE BIG BOYS ARE READ THE DAY THEY COME OUT....WHO KNOWS WHERE VIVI WILL BE IN A FEW DAYS....LOIS ..PLEASE EMAIL ME AS TO WHEN LAURA WILL GET PAID...BRIAN

does anyone know what laura is planning on doing this morning before she heads home. I guess ViVi didn't come to the place they thought she was sleeping or something would have been said from Bo. I thought I read somewhere that he was going to camp out where they thought she was sleeping. I know this would mean having alot of fliers but maybe going to like grocery store or somewhere and putting fliers on the windshield of cars. Just a thought. I mean everybody has to go to the grocery store.

Wow, that guys going to get a mouthful from me later. Shipped in a CRATE, dosen't he realize that's the airlines rule?

As for what's in the kitty, I don't think we'll know that yet as the checks are probably just about arriving and Lois would have to retreive them from the P.O. Box. What about the $8000. from the fund raiser and the money we sent to Bonnie? Is it going where it should be going? I sent a small check to Lois because I already sent checks in to the other groups. I would like an answer on that before anymore more checks are sent. Also, how much was Laura? There must have been a general amount discussed before she was hired.

Sharon, just read that article...and I can't believe it! How can someone like that even be allowed to speak...I know I know first amendment, but it's so infuriating. How can anyone make light of this situation...she's out on her own with many dangers right in front of her and this person is making fun of it. that's just insensitive.

i will use that money for laura if we have to....but everyone foolishly with great heart offered to pay her with own money...we are going to buy equiptment with the fundraiser money...as per lauras advice

As far as the mailboxes...we've had people fold flyers in half lenghtwise and wedge them under the flag of the mailbox...or some have even taped them to the mailbox or post. I'll call the PO tomorrow and find out what's legal.
Nicole

We need to pay Laura with the money we raised on this blog - that's what we said we would do. Laura told someone her price was $500 per day. Lois was trying to get money to her - but no one called her back. She still WILL get money to her. She just needs to know how to do it. Laura never answered her. Terrie

HEY GUYS - LAURA NEEDS TO BE PAID RIGHT AWAY!!

Brian, I think Lois mentioned being out until early afternoon. And if I remember right she only received $200 but is expecting lots more Monday/Tuesday when the mail comes in. I'm sure she'll let you know when she gets back.
Nicole

How about something on the Marth Stewart, Danza, Ellen show or maybe even on Letterman.

Letterman would need to do a few jokes about it, But, at least it would be PR.

Martha has the Best of Show on her show and she often does things on her show about pets.

Maybe the hook would be something about shipping pets safely. Or how to recover a lost pet. G_d knows, we are all learning how to do that.

Get some of the Team Vivi party on the show with the Tshirts. WHy not send them a PR packet with a t-shirt and a press release about the Posh fundraiser, photos of the search teams, clippings of news articles.

Eventually someone will notice. Right now Vivi seems to be a very famous dog. Google sent me a link to an article from Singapore last night.

My husband watches The Price is Right and every day Bob Barker says something about adopting a pet and the spay and neuter sphiel.

I know one thing for sure, you do have to be aggressive with the media and as Brian always says, you need a hook. Personally, I was invited to the Tonight show twice, once with a parrot that got drafted and another for creating an Oriental carpet that was less than an inch and had about 7000 stitches in it. Refused the parrot one telling them the bird was afraid to fly. And the carpet incident conflicted with a trade show I was doing.

The 7000 stitch carpet got my face in the Star magazine next to a guy who made dresses for turtles and the Mop and Glo ad. The shocking thing about that was so amny of the poeple I know in business who I never would expect to read the rag did read it.

Maybe someone could contact them too.

I am only saying this because of what Brian said. It has to be a bit out of the ordinary to get press.

Maybe a future expansion of Team Vivi. A website for help in finding lost pets with free simple hints we all now have experience with.

Many of us adopted or rescued pets. Many of those might have been strays.

I am thinking...after Vivi is found, this has to continue.

Thanks Nicole, I know there's a big no no as far as "in" but we always get them attached to the flag. Laurie, if you want to look into a big ad for one of the BIG papers, and when the deadline is. I'd still like to see about pursuing a "hotline" type thing for recruiting volunteers, that we could also put in the ad. No sure if it should be an 800 number or not - since might get more weirdos if it's free. If the deadline is immediate we might not be able to put it in our first ad, but can people think about it and move on it for next ad? Terrie

Anyone out there know how we could get hold of Oprah Winfrey BIG DOG LOVER AND GOOD STORY!!!!!

Thx Brian, could you post the official names of the Post and Daily News. I'm in CA so its hard to know the popular ones by just searching google. Once I get the names, I'll do my due diligence tomorrow and get back with everyone.

Oprah lives part time, here in Santa Barbara/Montecito, maybe if she knows ViVi is a *local* dog, she'd get involved. Not sure how to make contact tho.

Not sure whats going on here, however my check went out Friday and about 20 mins after that there was a post from Lois to hold all checks and nothing said after that. Brian, the checks that were sent to Lois are all going to be from out of her state and they will have a holding time of around 3 days before she can withdraw the money. That is why I suggested everyone send money orders or teller checks but it went right by everyone so now we must wait. If need be, she can be paid buy the fund raiser money and the money reimbursed back to you, that would be my suggestion. Or, if Laura doesn't mind, I'm sure she will have a check mailed to her by the end of the week. My only hope is that everyone made good on their offer. Laura should be paid asap, we may need her to come back.

Again, Lois offered to send money "up front" to Laura. She was trusting every one would send their money and I believe they have. I'm sure she would still do this especially as she gets more checks tomorrow. Laura will be paid for her time. No one ever got back to Lois tho' she was trying to reach people. I don't know what happened with the first time she was out. We were not involved in that one.

Here is Lois cell number, someone please call her, i'm not at home right now...612-770-0930.

FWIW, Greg Louganis lives in Malibu and it's entirely possible that Bo and Paul know him...

Just left a message with Lois to post plans on paying Laura as soon as she gets a chance. OK, no really, I'm off to the dog park. Terrie

Poster idea.

I thought the larger posters would be a bit high.

Idea. Have a 2 part poster. Vivi's picture on one which could be stapled on top, then have the info run off on bright neon legal size black text large on the color should show up. Would end up being 8.5 x 24.

Maybe even if $5000 reward was printed on a third sheet?

The pain in the neck part would be stapling two sheets to a pole. But at least it would be larger and maybe the unusual shape would attract someone.
There is a fixative artist use that can be sprayed on. Maybe this would protect the inks?

Is there a specific size poster that is allowed on these poles? Traffic can not be obstructed by them. Just a thought....

Brian, that's not fair to all of us. We all sent money, like was said, Lois will be receiving a steady stream of checks in the next few days. The routine way is to invoice someone and expect payment withing 15 days. I also remember Lois trying to reach Laura to ask her about giving her money upfront and did not receive an answer. Is it possible to use the money from the fundraiser and then Lois will send you a check to cover that? We definitely want Laura back, but she has to understand this was a last minute organized thing to get her here. Most of us live out of state, so the checks are going to take a few days to reach Lois. Help us, Brian. What do you want us to do?

This is what the poster is as Darlene has made many, go to staples buy a 5pack of flourescent pink 3ftx2ft paper take the vivi flyer enlarge vivi and tape it to it, on the top in big bold letters write lost dog, $5000.00 reward with the phone numbers under it. I don;t know what they made up last night, but this is the cheapest method if anyone wants to do it.You just need the time to tape the flyers to it and do the writing and send them off to Diane since I think she can get them from her prior posts.

I know my check of 200.00 was mailed Friday Morn. I think that an influx of checks will be received on Monday and Tuesday. I know everyone that pledged will send or have mailed those checks.

Will Laura return ? Is her partner staying ?

Siri-Calif

If everyone who is on these posts did 20 and sent them it would help, Basically you are only paying for the posters ( a couple of 5pks of them) the flyers of vivi's picture could be enlarged on the computer and printed, and maybe the cost of a roll of wide tape to attach vivi to it so it will hold up in the weather, No need to have Staples or Kinkos print these up too much money and if anyone has children they can help tape vivi to it.I will make some up tomorrow to take out to post.Sounds like a school project.

Brian, no one wants you to use the fund raiser money to pay Laura, that was not the reason you had the fund raiser to begin with. You were face to face with her and shouldn't wouldn't discuss money. Our money was sent in good faith to pay Laura and that better be where it goes whether she wants to get paid or not. I don't do freebies and I don't think anyone here does either. I trust Lois and I'm sure this will all be taken care of asap. If she comes up short she will let us know and I'm sure all of us would send more. However, what about the money that was sent to Bonnie and the strays? That's where my bigger check went. Some of our checks haven't been cashed. I wonder if I should put a stop payment on it and send it to Lois?

debbie
where do we send the posters to Diane??

Hey Cindy Diane has posted on here someplace where to send them. I'll look back and see.

Hello Everyone!
Just returned this morning from 2+ days in CT for my daughter's baby shower. It was a wonderful couple of days. My family and friends did "ration" the time I could check this site to 15 minutes/am and 15 minutes/pm. I was in better shape when I left, but driving back as soon as I hit the NY state line, I felt my shoulders go up 6", now I've caught up, more or less, with what's happening with the Vivi search.

For the people who are thinking of having flyers distributed to people's mailboxes, that is a GREAT idea! Yes, we do have mailboxes, but they are attached right next to the front door in 99% of the cases. Mail slots are discouraged by the Post Office. I get tons of ads from everything you can imagine every day. Don't think there is any particular Post Office regulations concerning that..not a problem! Most of the people walking the areas are hired...how this is arranged, I have no clue. Right now we are being flooded with flyers from landscapers, etc. When I've searched and stopped dozens of dog walkers, many of them took extra flyers to put in their neighbors' mail boxes and I think that is even better than posting!

People from out-of-town, please remember this is really a big city area, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural and people do not pay much attention to posters on poles...they are everywhere and civic associations DO NOT ENCOURAGE them and come and rip them off. I do a lot of work for my civic assoc. and called and asked them not to take mine down for at least a week. It does make the area look like a mess after a while. I am so accustomed to seeing this kind of posting that I don't pay attention myself. Most of the time, I can't see them when I am in the car and if I can, 10 minutes later I have forgotten. AND, I AM AN INTENSE ANIMAL LOVER! Many people don't read newspapers and get info only from TV...and a lost dog is really background noise! Vivi will not stand out to most people...just a "skinny" lost dog...that's the reality and it does break my heart..but, that's it folks!

I am so sorry that Laura and her assistant, and Bo, are leaving! I guess I misunderstood, but originally I thought she would stay till the job was finished...Vivi was caught! Now, I feel we are back to where we were before I left on Friday. Vivi is moving and we don't know what direction...we can again be posting and searching in the wrong areas!!

Lois posted she would be out till mid-afternoon (CST). She asked many times on Friday where to send check for Laura and got no response from anyone. Laura needs to communicate and send a bill as professional people do....Please Brian, it's not that we don't want to pay her, but Lois doesn't know how she wants payment remitted....I sent my check to Lois from the PO on Friday morning. She will have it perhaps Tuesday, maybe Wednesday. I have to believe everyone will honor their pledges.

Wow, I am stressed once again! Went to Mass at Noon and asked help from St. Francis, lit candles for the searchers and our lost pups! Just at wit's end here.

Rosa, where's my funny lady!! Missed you and we need your humor NOW!

Irene Wilson

OK - I just got back from Office Depot. I had 50 fluorescent posters made - they are 11 x 14 and the store ran off the flyer I did onto the posters. We tried to enlarge the flyer to take up more space on the poster paper, but that didn't work, so we printed the 81/2 x 11 flyer onto this stock. I figured it was better than nothing, and less expensive than having Kinkos print the 2 x 3 posters.

I picked up fluorescent sticky notes in a sunburst pattern - might catch attention on other flyers or you can write something on and attach, fluorescent magic markers, tape, staplers and refills, 2 boxes of page protectors and will take to FedEx today and hopefully Diane will receive Monday morning. I assume they will still send today?

As far as the celebrity hook, I wasn't going to say anything until I had made contact, but here is my part to reach out to a celebrity. John Travola lives in Ocala, Florida, not far from me, AND his attorney actually lives here in Jacksonville, Florida where I live. I did send an email to Travola Saturday to see if he could help with transportation back to California after Viv is found. He has his own jets and I thought maybe he would like to get involved. My husband is dropping off a note to his attorney's office on the way to work in the morning. Who knows - I figured it was worth asking.

What about the pet guy who is on Martha Stewart's show - or did someone already mention that?

I think it will take calls to some of these people/shows to get some help. Emails are probably filtered through others and might take too long for the note to get to the actual person.

OK - I'm packing my box up now - if anyone can think of other stuff I should send, let me know.

Cindy this is what Diane had posted yesterday afternoon

Maggie: Does anyone know under what rock Delta is presently hiding???

I did see somewhere millions of postings ago, that Delta would fly Vivi back in the cabin, not cargo.

Maybe better to ask Travolta for a push to the press or make some 30-second TV spots asking for help in finding Vivi. We can worry about flying Vivi later...right now, we need to find her!

Delta should also be paying for a full page ad in either the Daily News or the NY Post....now that is sure to get me more intimidating e-mails...can't wait!

So much really big news here every minute, murders, rapes, the escalating war in Iraq, Vivi is really old news and the press is not going to make it front page...they've been there and done that!
A billboard would be, I imagine, very expensive and where would it be placed??? Vivi keeps moving..

Irene Wilson

Hello Everyone,
I haven't been able to read or post at all since Friday evening. I will try to catch up some today. I have been taking care of Dante, my whippet who had surgery for a mast cell tumor on Friday. I want everyone to know how much I have appreciated all the emails, well wishes and prayers.
Dante is doing MUCH BETTER today. Yesterday, he started drinking and eating again. His appetite still isn't full swing yet but at least he is eating enough that I can get his medications into him.
It was very interesting to watch his improvements yesterday. He went from slowly moving and laying around in the morning to finding him on top of my bed in the evening, which is 2 feet off the ground. His incision is clean and dry, no oozing. The inflammation has even gone down quite a bit and not a lot of bruising. I just pray the biopsy comes back clean around the edges so we don't have to do this again.
We will continue to take it easy today. Dante is used to taking daily walks and has even indicated to me that he would like to go on one but I just want him to rest a couple more days first.
I hope the search for Vivi is going well and we hear some good news soon.
Thanks again for the support. This site has such great people on it. :)

Anyone know how to get Oprah Winfrey in?? is a BIG DOG LOVER and also able to spread the word. Any suggestions????

I asked Travolta before I realized that Delta had already said they would take care of flying Vivi home.

So, the letter my husband is dropping off at his attorney's office in the morning is more of a plea for help/assistance in other ways.

I have some friends in the advertising/publishing business in New York and I will contact them in the morning to see if anyone can help from that angle.

Maggie

could someone please tell me what the bottom line plan is from laura on vivi.

Al Roker (nbc) will also be good to contact because he is a big dog lover and he is originally from Queens.

men should know how to cook . I mean, they would survive the wild like our poor Vivi

Years ago, when North Shore Animal League (now one of the largest shelter/rescue groups on the East Coast) was starting up, I remember that Perry Como, who lived here in Sands Point, Long Island, did a lot of 30-second TV spots for them and really became their spokesperson. Was very effective.

If you can get to Travolta, maybe he would, but all of this has to be FAST! Vivi is out of food, energy and still negotiating traffic here...I am so scared for her!

Al Roker, perhaps, could do a spot on his TV show.

Have no clue as to how to get to any of these people..wish I did!

Irene Wilson

Hello everyone from AZ. I've already contacted Ellen Degeneres and Montel (as a contact person) a while back. No response.

KOREAN AND CHINESE TRANSLATION - I remember reading a post yesterday but not sure who wrote that... anyways they wanted some posters in Korean and Chinese. If you contact any university (the international students office) I am sure they would be more than happy to translate it for you. You can send an email. If someone wants to do this then I can find some phone or email contacts online that you can contact.

Just sent a plea for coverage to Miles O'Brien at CNN. We will see......
Maggie

IRENE- if you want to contact Al Roker here's his contact information

Phone: 212-757-8500

I sent an email but nobody responded but maybe if you call it might be better.

Are you back from CT? I hope you had a good time.

Gail....Just how much are billboards going for these days???

It seems to me the best Vivi has going for her now is the family with the children that have seen her and she has apparently felt some comfort and connection with the smallest child.
Sounds as if the family is willing to do whatever Bo and Laura have suggested.
I hope there won't be too much activity around the area, the house and the kids. Vivi may just decide it isn't the place she wants to stay.

She sure has made her point that her breed is very, very difficult to catch once they have been put in a situation that makes them resort back to the wild to survive!

From a show persons point of view, I have to say she is an excellent example of the breed and I will continue to believe that her stamina, tremendous health and determination will keep her safe until she makes the decision to return to CA!

Sophie: Can't call today...it's Sunday and they are closed. Will give it a shot tomorrow...

Still think the best way is to put flyers in people's mail boxes..I've done that up and down my block, but walking more than that is not something I can do at this point...Will be seen better than posters, I think. Doesn't really take that long actually. 2 people (1 covering each side of the street) could get quite an area done.

Just thinking out loud!

Irene Wilson

Sophie...Yes, I'm back. I posted at 1:32pm.

People, I think the Korean/Chinese/Japanese translations are a waste of time and money (not going to go further than that). In addition, you would need translations in Hindi and many dialects I can't even name.

Spanish is enough, I think.

Irene Wilson

Just a warning. You are technically not allowed to put your own posts in a mailbox. When I lost my Golden Retriever years back I stuffed every mailbox within miles and got a warning fromt he Post Office. If you have the option stuff newspaper delivery boxes. I'd still do it anyway but thought you might want to know.

Did you see this?!on the other page....
Vivi was just sighted inside the flushing cemetary, bonnie is at the gate . they need help getting her

Posted by: Kim | March 19, 2006 at 02:30 PM

Irene, It's so good to have you back! I am finding it hard to be funny this afternoon. I am sorry to hear Laura has to go back, I thoght she was staying till Monday and leaving her assistant. Guess I thought wrong. Is Bo still here? My check went out Friday morning to Lois{$100.00 the amount I pledged}. I hope there will be a sighting today. Just trying to keep my hopes up..I think I need a good cry. Be back later.Rosa

What about Martha Stewart she's also a dog lover???

Karen...My mail carrier was more than happy to take a bunch of my flyers and he said he would put them in mail boxes where he "knew the people would care"...Perhaps he was doing it as a favor to me because I've known him for more than 10 years.

I wish you could see my mail box each day, and more annoying is the fact that they leave flyers rolled and stuck on my fence, so the winds blow them everywhere.

One flyer in a mail box I doubt is going to start World War III...meanwhile we've gotten our message out...Vivi doesn't have the luxury of waiting. The traffic around here keeps me from sleeping...she's in a bad spot.

Irene Wilson

Guys go to the new post they have her in the cemetary

Irene - Welcome back! Did you have fun? I also thought the same thing. Just stick the fliers in the mailboxes, period. it's alot faster and a more productive use of time. Why? because everyone goes to their mailbox. When you put them on poles, there's always the wise ass who walks right in back of you and pulls them down when no one is looking. or the wind blows them away if they're not properly attached. So even if some of you think that it's not allowed to do this, what's the worst thing that can happen here? More publicity? More TV coverage? People complaining about Vivi's poster? That's good then! That means that they're paying attention and the more people paying attention, the faster we'll get Vivi home where she belongs.

OOOPS posted this at the wrong site. Meant to post it here. New VIVI sighting:

Check the other blog "Sunday meet..." There is a posting that Vivi was just sighted at the cemetery and Bonnie is at the gate. She needs help.

I know but it is illegal and I just thought full disclosure was best. Did you just see what I posted? She's in the Flushing cemetery right NOW.

WHAT NEW POST I CANNOT SEEM TO FIND IT?

DONNA QUINN...

AMEN!!! DITTO!!!

As I said in my previous post, the Civic Associations don't want this down and they pull them down. I know because I do a lot of work for my Association and have taken down all the crap the politicians put and never take down...makes the area look like a total mess!

I called my Association and begged that they leave them up at least for a week....they were not happy!

Irene Wilson

Spotted! Oh my g_d. Myheart skipped a few beats and I thought I would be going to the cemetary myself, under different circumstances.

Vivi, behave. Maybe they can get the little girl in there. Bo, hope you are still here.

I am not leaving my home office. The chicken can burn in the oven.

ROSA: GO TO THE OTHER STREAM...SUNDAY MEETINGS OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT!

IRENE WILSON

Kim just updated the other blog "Sunday Meetups 8am and 10am" with new info about sighting of VIVI in cemetery. Go there. Good News!!! Everyone pray that they recover her. Someone call the cemetery to close the gate.

Sharon, I think you are right! they need to get the little girl there now.... maybe if Vivi sees that girl she might not freak out and she might just go up to her. To keep Vivi from getting too scared they should also probably get some dog toys or a ball or something.

Anyone know if Bo is still here?

They must be real sure this is her. What do you guy's think? If they shut the gates will they be trapping her in for sure. Or do you think she could get through anyone who's been there?

What cememtary? Is this the one near the girls house.

I am firing up Google Earth now!

I bet they thought of that. At least she is in a contained area. Did someone say there was only one way in and out and the fence was tight?

Did someone call Jil and Paul? Who saw here?

IRENE, she was waiting for you to come home.

I was in the middle of painting a special order needlepoint canvas and my hands are shaking too much to work.

But the chicken is not burning yet. Oh, to he!! with the chicken if it burns. DH will order Pizza.

Rosa, I think Bo is leaving tomorrow

Today is the feastday of St. Joseph. I've heard it said that saints grant favors on their feastdays. I prayed in front of the statue of St. Joseph in church yesterday to help recover VIVI as a favor on his feastday. So maybe more prayers to St. Joseph will help.

Also pray to St. Francis all the time (patron saint of animals) and St. Anthony (patron saint of the lost).

Just maybe, our prayers will be answered soon.

Let's keep the prayers, meditation , visualization, and communication with VIVI. Somehow all these energies have got to come together and maybe, just maybe, it will all come together.

on google earth, the cemetary is right across from the little girl's sighting...search on Bagley Ave., Flushing and you'll see it. It looks like there are two gates, one at Bagley and Auburndale, and one at 46th and Pigeon Meadow Rd. Hopefully the fencing around it is secure...

do we know who all is there yet. God I pray that both of those gates are closed. Is this a real big cemetary

debbie, honi and bo are on their way now. Laura ,who is traveling back is also notified. she can walk them through it!!

I think that if the fence surrounding the runway couldn't hold her the fence surrounding a cemetary can't either. They'll have to lure her, not catch her- the fence might slow her for a minute. That's what I think.

There's another update on the other blog...

the update on the other blog says they are worried she could slip between the bars of the fence because she is so skinny now, according to the man who saw her. Let's hope she didn't get out....

Hi everyone. I am one of the silent searchers. I hang out wit Renee and Judy mostly as I have no car. Anyway thanks for keeping the thresad clear. In answer to the gate question. There are the main gates to the public and there are two that open for cars and the walkins. On the other side I guess it's for delivery and employee about the same but they are closed when not needed. One walk way was open yesterday but closed shortly after 10am so I believe for the employees. I wanted to walk through there yesterday but they said no dogs allowed and I had my Maureen witrh me. I did leave flyers and post one to their boards though. Here's hoping Vivi doesn't challenge us once again b being skinny enough to squeeze through those gates. She shouldn't be so I think it's a matter of time before she is captured.

The cemetery is not big. It is right near everything - the little girl's house and the horse farm - the places where the traps were. I believe that only one set of gates are open - on 46th St. I think the gates on Auburndale are chained closed. This is right where Laura told us to concentrate our search.

Dina

Okay guys, lets send some energy to ViVi so she will know that it is time to give up and go come

Can you guys help me? What blog is this update posted on? Is it Denise posting or a bloghead (as Brian calls us)? I've looked everywhere, even on the Sunday meetings update and I see people talking, but not real update.

Yesterday we had about 20 people right outside the cemetery by the horse farm. I can't believe that she is there today.

Dina
