Dare we dream?
Bonnie Folz sends this report:
<<A man saw what he believes to be Vivi on Saturday, just off the west-bound Northern Boulevard exit off the Van Wyck Expressway. He is a limo driver and remembers seeing the flier around La Guardia airport (thanks to our airport team member for making sure the airport lots are always covered).
Kathy “Bayside” contacted the caller for more info on Monday and emailed him the two photo line-up sheets. He picked Vivi out of both.
The out-of-town team has already begun another round of faxing and emailing businesses in the area. The location of the sighting has already been canvassed and it is a difficult spot to get to by car and you need to be careful if you park and walk as traffic whizzes by. Some of the Vivi Team are out right now searching and will post around the area and repost Flushing Meadow Park and around Shea Stadium.
Guess the motion sensor cameras will be getting new batteries.
The man originally said the dog was the size of a German Shepherd, dirty white coat, brownish markings, and very skinny, but, then again, he did pick Vivi out of the line-ups. There’s ALWAYS a possibility.
We can only hope and pray.>>

I HOPE AND PRAY IT IS VIVI AND THIS TIME SHE'S RESCUED. SHE MUST BE SICK OF BEING OUT IN THE GREAT NY LOOKING FOR FOOD.
CANDLE TIME GALS! WE NEED MANY PRAYERS FOR OUR GIRL TOO.
GOD BLESS YOU LITTLE VIVI, MAY IT BE YOU AND MAY YOU BE SAFE UNTIL YOU ARE RESCUED!
My coworker just rushed out of here ... her sister-in-law called to tell her their dog got run over by a car but is still alive! He is a Boston Terrier named Mugsy and he was hit in the head but is still alive. They are rushing him to the vet. Please pray for Mugsy's recovery!
With love and thanks,
Tara
Vivi I am praying for you, please it's time we want to celebrate your return to California. Be safe my sweet girl, we are waiting for you.
HOW about a CANDLE VIGIL SATURDAY NIGHT at 7:00pm Eastern Time for Vivi?
WE could all light up at home or on Grateful and Ask for help that the girls out posting/searching and setting up the Cameras will have luck with a Vivi sighting. We all want this to be her, so lets pray for more sightings so we can locate her.
GOD BLESS this BRAVE little whippet and keep her safe!
VIVA LA VIVI!
Rosa
Came back a little while ago from checking the area out for Vivi with Gail. Did not get much done due to heavy rains at times, on an off for much of the evening. The area is very commerical, not street shopping but industrial, Auto Parts, Auto Shops, Auto Body Repair, Auto this, Auto that. Several DOT facilities, preety nasty and not easily a place to post or walk around. Lots of places to hide and easily within walking distance to Flushing Meadows, etc.
I gave some hand-outs to people fishing by the Marina, all of them some sort of South Americans, who didn't speak English, but I pointed to to the picture and made a call me gesture, which I am sure they understood.
The only think I can say right now is maybe fax the Auto places in the area and re-post.
I wrote down some names, addresses, and phone number of some establishment which I will give to Karen to post.
Sorry, we were not more successfull!!
Kathy of Bayside, I know that you and Team Vivi will be successful. We're walking with you in spirit and are faxing from the lists sent to us. Good luck this weekend.
Dare we hope?
YES!!!
There is ALWAYS HOPE!!!!

Has anyone else had difficulties with the gratefulness.org candle site? It is acting kind of strange when I try to light candles for Vivi.
Trying to send as much positive energy Vivi's way as possible...please let the miracle happen soon!
TMG
Teresa, I am also having problems this morning with the site. I light 10 candles and only 2 show up and the number does not change.
Mila and Teresa, I had problems yesterday. I mentioned a couple a days ago that the site said they were limiting candles lit to 24 a day per person and 100 per week. They didn't want repeats of the same message. I 'm not pleased because the sites haven't been able to get many candles lit.
Good luck, Team Vivi!
If this is Vivi, isn't she going toward LaGuardia, away from JFK? That's strange. Maybe there is a familiarity with airports and she knows she needs to get to an airport. Either from when she was lostor or maybe she was shipped via air to other shows in the past.
Why would a dog know it needs to get to the airport? That is so idiotic. Dogs seek food and shelter, not the next flight to LA.
I'm sorry, but have to disagree with you Go Find Vivi. Lost animals DO often try to go to something that looks familiar to them when they are lost.
And God knows, the only thing very familiar to precious Vivi before she was lost was the JFK airport. That is what broke my heart over her story - being lost in a place without any scents or familiar items to lead her home.
Libby's idea makes sense.
I agree, Kathleen. How else have dogs and cats traveled hundreds of miles back to their homes if there isn't some sense that this is where they should go towards or be at this place. Give our animal world more credit.
Yes, I hope it is her. We should never give up hope, but keep praying for her safe return. Maybe someone took in her for a while and then got tired of her, or she got away, but chances are most likely that she's been fending for herself all this time. The cold weather will be here soon, so I pray she'll be found - soon. I hope God answers the prayers of all the wonderful people involved in her search - and of all the people who are just praying for her safe return. God bless you all.
I've been holding out hope every day since Vivi was lost. Haven't checked in in a long, long time, but have never given up hope that Vivi will be safely retrieved and showered with all the love and care she deserves. Good to see some old names around on the blog. Best to all.
I still check this site fairly often and have never given up hope for Vivi being found someday. I pray for Vivi!
I have never given up on Vivi. I still frequently check this site, and I hope this is the break everyone has been waiting for. Vivi is always in my prayers.
I too have Vivi in my heart at all times, this website is on my toolbar, so I can check often, and remember Vivi in my prayers at all times. It is especially poignant for me, since I found a pure white whippet about the time Vivi disappeared. Everytime I look at her, I think of Vivi, and pray that she's found soon. (Yes, I did try to find the owners, contacted all the local animal control branches, websites, etc!). I think if the candle site is not working, just thinking about her will send all of your positive thoughts in her direction. Keep up the prayers, chanting, and positive thoughts, whatever it takes to bring that poor baby home.
This is my first time writing in, and I just want to add my prayers for Vivi, as well as little Mugsy who was hit by a car. I hope things turned out well there.
As for Vivi, I have checked this site almost every day since the beginning and every time I'm just about to give up hope, another possible sighting turns up. I thing about her often, and even though there are countless lost pets out there, she is the only one whose story I can follow. My cat was lost for 3 weeks once and I was heartbroken and miserable. All I could do was cry. Eventually he was found and the story had a happy ending. I pray for the same ending for Vivi.
Anything further about Vivi? It's frustrating to have a posting about a possible sighting, and then not another word.
Vivi... Praying for your return.. and yes animal's do try to return to the last familiar thing they remember and associate with going home..airport's and plane's mean going home to Vivi...
LORRAINE - From what I have heard, they are continuing to post and fax the areas around the sighting. Hopefully we will get another sighting - sure hope so, and a rescue also.
Update on Mugsy is that he was not hit by a car. There was a misunderstanding in all the excitement. He has actually hit by a baseball bat. The young child was swinging the bat, and unfortunately Mugsy ran right up to the bat as he was swinging and got hit in the head. It was an accident entirely. The good news is that Mugsy is doing fine, thank goodness.
PAT - I sure agree with you. We do not give animals credit sometimes for all the intelligence they have. I'm sure Vivi has looked very hard for something familiar in her journey - including the airport. I have always wondered if they would have brought the other dog she was close to and maybe a horse or two to lay a familiar scent if this would not have lead Vivi to an area to be rescued quicker.
MADISON'S UPDATE FROM THE DOCTOR IN AMSTERDAM:
August 31, 2007
The following is an email that I received from John today talking about the visit with the doctor. It's such good news!!! Praise God!!! I want to add that he told me on the phone that the doctor doesn't consider Madison to be in a coma or persistant vegetative state but just in a minimally conscious state. That's actually much better! OK I know you all are anxious, so here is the letter. YAY B+ for Madison!
Madison had a good day and the Dr. thinks she will do very well.
He started by having the sound system make a noise to startle her, and he repeated it. After the third time, she knew what was going to happen and she didn't startle. He let her rest and explained it to the audience, and tried again, and again, after a few times, Madison anticipated it and didn't startle. The dr. started getting excited.
He liked her eye movements. She was looking around in all directions.
He listened to her chest and put some preasure on her liver. I don't remember exacly what he was doing, but the pressure increased the blood flow to her brain, and she responded with what he'd hoped for.
He showed the audience how she decreases her spacicity when you move her arms, and explained why that was good. I didn't understand too much, but again, he seemed very pleased. It meant they could use cerebelor techniques to stimulate her frontal cortex.
He scraped both of her heels with his thumb nail, and she pulled her foot away both times.
He thinks the left frontal cortex is a little more functional which is cool because that would give us access to language abilities.
Then he put some goggles on with video cameras and very cool software. it tracked her pupils and measured sizes and rotations. Her pupils dialate pretty normaly now. They respond to light like a normal person's.
Then...with Madison still in her chair, he put the chair and her on a force plate that was very sensitive. It could feel the rhythm of her heart. He said they looked good. This plate can sense motion in all directions, and the subtle movements of response that the body makes could be measured. I didn't understand a lot of what he was doing, but it was cool. He was measuring her for about 20 seconds at a time with no stimulus, and then with light stimulus to one eye at a time. He kept having to start over because the room was very quiet and just as the test would begin, someone would drop a pencil or cough and Madison would startle and that would mess up the test. It was kind of funny because the same gentleman caused the startle several times. Also, Madison sneezed on Dr. Carrick earlier...and there was a lot of stuff flying out of her mouth. That was funny too, but he just got a tissue and wiped her mouth and kept going.
He did some stimulation with heat and cold, and she did respond...though not as well in one ear...probably, he said, because there was a ball of wax in there (whoops). We should probably let the ENT check that.
So overall, the Dr. said she had good brain function. He did one more test where he had the doppler mic pushed to an artery in her foot, and with light stimulation in her eyes, we could hear the blood stronger...another good response.
Her eyes were together today! No crazy eyes.
They will train us to do some activities (very similar to what our local Chiropractic neurologist is doing already. He said it's better to do a little often, than too much at once.
He said he might like to see her again in a year or so. He expects her to be talking in a year or so. He said that our local Dr. will do well treating her because all the important parts of her brain are working. He said it would take a commitment from her family, and he knows we love her. And he said Madison was going to be around for a long time.
I waited a while after he saw Madison. Several other doctors walked out and expressed excitement at Madison's potential. One wanted to have his picture taken with Madison. And another took a picture of me and Madison. One thanked me for bringing Madison so they could see what the reactions looked like to the different stimuli. Madison was a good patient today.
We went for a ride on the tram through the city center, and went out to eat right after that, so I didn't get to take many pictures, but I will go nuts tomorrow.
there you have it folks....answered prayers! God is so good! I'm really looking forward to learning the techniques and this came at the perfect time. It gave me renewed hope. I never lost faith, but being human, it is natural to worry. The everyday trials of seeing very small gains is hard to watch. But, this is big and shows that my little fighter is fighting this and will continue to fight it! We will be with her every step of the way and so will God. Thank you God!

Check out the other updates on pictures on her website. Thank you once again for all your wonderful support and prayers for little Madison.
The news about Madison is fantastic!!!! Thank you for keeping us updated on her progress, Kathleen. It really does look like she is on her way to well!!!!
GIRLS - TAMMY GRIMES NEEDS OUR HELP AGAIN. THEY ARE AFTER HER AGAIN REGARDING DOOGIE**********

Just signed it, Darlene! Please be sure and sign (and pass on) the one for the puppy in Texas I posted under the Whoopi Goldberg thread. Thanks!
I am almost 100% positive I saw Vivi this morning. She came out of the marshes next to the Atlantic Beach bridge. I was going through the tolld and she came out through a hole in the fence, she crossed infront of my car and then tried to cross the lane next to me but wound up going back into to marsh
D,
I suppose you called the number on the flyers/posters??
No, what is the number?
D, The number is: 1-877-JFK-VIVI its a 24 hr. a day number.
I hope you're right. It's been a month since any sighting........
Thanks, I just called and spoke to them. My description matched her perfectly, so we're crossing our fingers
Where in NY is the Atlantic Beach bridge?
It connects Long Island to Queens, specifically, Long Beach/Atlantic Beach to Far Rockaway
I think that is in Darlene's neck of the woods? South of JFK Airport?
Yes, it is South. She was right at the tollbooths, so I told them to inquire about any possible video that they might have. I drive that way everyday so I will be on the lookout
D, can you ask the booth employees if they have seen this dog before and can they identify the breed?
I will try to ask tomorrow, I always use the decal lane so I don't have an employee but I will try to speak to someone in the morning, it might be the same people working
D, Did she look OK? was she sickly thin or would you say average? I cant help but wonder what kind of shape poor Vivi is in.
I do hope something comes of this, thanks so much for posting this news for us D.
Please keep us updated.
VIVA LA VIVI!
God Bless you, brave little Whippet!
She looked a little dirty but otherwise healthy, not too skinny at all. If she went back into the marsh it is likely she would exit through Lawrence which is very residential, if she actually made it across the tolls then she will be in Far Rockaway. I'm crossing my fingers they follow up on this lead. This area is not as big as some others.
Lordy, this is soooooo great! I'm a mess again, as usual. I think we need to light a ton of candles for Vivi........I hope you can find something out D..it would make a lot of people very happy!
D,
I was thinking, maybe if you hear anything from the toll both people, you could call that number I gave you again and give the gals a heads up.
ROSA, can you believe it and will you be sleeping tonight? heh I'm a happy camper right now!
I'm with you Ruby. I'm a mess also. God please let this be Vivi.
D, Can you email me at mbennett@twmi .rr .com without the spaces and I will send you a poster of Vivi to look at and maybe make a copy to take to show the toll workers???
Sorry, mlbennett@twmi .rr .com
This would be so incredible if this is our Vivi
and she would not have to spend another winter
in the cold alone. Pls D keep us informed
and Bless you for caring
Every time I'm about ready to give up hope, she pops up again. I hope they can catch her on the video cameras for definite confirmation.
I can't believe this!!!! I've been discouraged with no news coming in lately. This morning I checked in not expecting to find anything (as we all do many times a day I'm sure) and BAM!!! This would be the most wonderful news!! God bless the person who spotted her and took the time to persue it. I've got butterflies in my stomach. Go Vivi!!
FROM KATHY (CO) - THE HORSES STILL NEED US!!!!!
Current Strategy
The current strategy is to get more co-sponsors in both the House (HR503) and the Senate (S311).
The sponsors of both of these bills have indicated that they will not move forward until there is enough support to assure success.
The public is being asked to contact their Congressmen and Senators and ask them to co-sponsor their respective bills.
We have been asked NOT to call the leadership yet. There are several reasons...one is that there is a hold on S311 and we need 60 cosponsors to break a hold. The other is that they are looking for more cosponsors in the House to ensure success. The legislators who introduced these bills HR503 and S311 will not make that kind of a move until they believe they have a very good chance to get it passed. To do it any other way would be to set themselves up for failure. So, while it does get frustrating (and boring at times), the key is still cosponsors.
Strategy will change as this campaign progresses into the next stage.
[edit]TODAY'S STRATEGY WITH TALKING POINTS
1. Let your Senators know that two of the slaughter houses in this country are closed permanently, and the third (Cavel) has lost their appeal and will be closed shortly. It is URGENT that we now get this legislation passed to STOP THE TRANSPORT of horses to Canada and Mexico. It's VERY important that you stress the cruel and inhumane way these horses are transported. Now is the time to focus on the fact that closing down our slaughter houses is NOT enough but that we must pass this FEDERAL legislation to stop the transport of American horses for slaughter.
2. Let your Senators know that we NEED them as co-sponsors for S311 to get this on the calendar and to the floor for a vote.
3. Tell your Congressman that we need their cosponsorship for HR503 to get this bill out of committee and to the floor for a vote.
4. Dispel the "unwanted" horse theory. Read John Holland's information for more talking points.
5. Closing of all three slaughter houses in the United States helps to reinforce our efforts. We can now dispell the idea that American jobs will be lost due to the end of slaughter. Only Mexico and Canada will now profit from OUR horses being slaughtered!! This is a very important point and one that you should all make when talking to your legislators.
[edit]Strategy for Wednesday September 26
Its starting to seem like we may have seen the end of horse slaughter on American soil. Weve all been waiting a long time for this! Hopefully, this will not change.
However, this makes it all the more important that we get the federal legislation passed that will stop the transportation of our horses to Canada and Mexico. It will also erase the possibility of another plant opening up in this country.
Thanks to everyone who rallied to participate in the poll. This information gathering will help our legislators know how best to proceed. It will also help in compiling Daily Call Lists. Since many senators were receiving duplicate calls, this project will be completed by the state leaders. You all did an awesome job and now we can concentrate on Daily Calling Lists to encourage those senators that we KNOW we can reach with enough support. Remember, we dont need them allso lets get back to our regular calls and get enough senators to get this passed!!

HERE WE GO AGAIN. BETTER BUY SOME WEENIES....
Go get her Darlene. You and the weenies will win.
Come on Vivi, Darlene will have fresh weenies for you. Good luck to all who are searching.
WOW, SUCH GREAT NEWS. SURE HOPE THIS IS OUR GIRL!
Thought I would share this e-mail I sent to some of the ladies on the blog with the rest of you folks. Don't laugh too hard, I have to admit if I had not been laughing Onnie might have been looking for a new home now.
------------------
Yes ladies, sweet Onnie has done a NO, NO. I put a BRAND NEW BEDSPREAD on my bed this week. I had found one just like I wanted and ordered it. It was this very soft rose color, chenille and had a design on it ($89). Perfect with my Victorian antique dresser. Onnie was on the end of my bed chewing her bone and two toys, until I looked down there while watching TV and she had chewed a hole in the bedspread (first night on my bed). The funny part is when I fussed at her, she made this sound, "Huh" like that big great dane from the comics, with this innocent look on her face. I had to laugh, it was so funny and she looked so funny. So off to bed in her kennel room she went.
The next night I came home and was watching TV. Tink had pushed the bedspread into a pile to curl up on. So much for a pretty bed with Tinkerbell and Onnie around. All of a sudden Tinkerbell was under the cover and she stuck her head through the bedspread. She had made it large enough to get her head through there. So I saw this silly little Tinkerbell head sitting on top of a big bunch of rose chenille bedspread. She looked like one of those little goffers sticking their head out of a hole.
My friend who has won sewing awards is going to try and cut a block out of the middle and make me a patchwork design or something to go in there to make this poor bedspread look pretty again. Oh my, GOT TO LOVE 'UM...
Kathleen
Naughty little (S)tinkerbell and Onnie. I can just picture it. :)
Karen just e-mailed me about the sighting. Oh, Please let this be the miracle we want. Lately Vivi has been on my mind more often and when I think of Jill and Rick without her, I am a mess. I'm going to light some candles.
A picture of Tinkerbell with her head sticking out of the hole in the bedspread would have been worth the $89. As you say....gotta love 'em.
I hope the next time I log on I find some really great news. Wishful thinking? Miracles DO happen. The weather is supposed to be rainy tomorrow so that may keep Vivi hunkered down....but the weekend is supposed to be gorgeous. It's great that there's spot to zero in on. A rather BIG spot, but a spot all the same. I wonder if tracking dogs can be brought in, or has she been missing so long that there is no scent to give them to work with?
Nothing more from "D"? I was sooo hoping we would hear something. I'm also hoping the NY crew will be over there, checking at the toll plaza and checkng the marsh. I didn't sleep a lot thinking about it.
WHERE ARE YOU D?
Has the sighting been cross-posted? I'm hoping more eyes and ears will be on the watch and maybe Vivi is on the video.
They are waiting to see what happens Susan, waiting to hear if its for real I guess...the gals were suppose to go out tonight I think
It sounded sooooo goood, I wish D would come back and tell us something, anything...
I spoke to several people regarding this. I know one woman went out to look this morning and she said a group would go out tomorrow to look
D: Thanks a thousand times for reporting back to us and for calling Rosa to tell her what you saw. I always wonder how many people she has walked right past. I'm betting hundreds. It just takes the right one at the right time. Let this be it.
Yes, D. Thanks so much for taking the time to report this. Hopefully, it will truly be Vivi.
Thanks D for keeping us up to date. I'm keeping everything crossed that it's Vivi and she will show her pretty self to our weenie girls.
Has someone been contacted at the toll booth about video recording they might have from that day? I wonder if they would be willing to look through it if asked?

I'm hoping this weekend is IT for Vivi. I can't imagine what her people are feeling. The ups and downs have to be maddening. To everyone who has been so diligent on this, never giving up hope, God bless you all. I hope to log on tomorrow and find the best news anyone could hope for.
LORRAINE - Amen to that. I also am hoping this is our precious little girl who has brought so much good by her journeys. It is time for HER HAPPY ENDING and to be loved and spoiled herself.
Also, I laughed at your post: "A picture of Tinkerbell with her head sticking out of the hole in the bedspread would have been worth the $89. As you say....gotta love 'em." I have now dubbed this as Tinkerbell's Chenille bedspread with the "sunroof!"
I was eating dinner with my best friend tonight (she was with me when I bought and rescued Tinkerbell and Cheech from a flea market). When I told her about this latest event with Onnie and Tinkerbell, she started laughing so hard I thought she was going to choke on me. She, like I, is a hopeless animal lover! Ann feeds about 10 feral cats around her apartments (I purchase food to help her feed them also), and our friend Tammy has helped trap and spay each of these babies. Isn't it funny how animal lovers are drawn together. Ann and I met at an ice rink when our kids wanted to take lessons, and our friendship developed from there. That was about 20 years ago now. Little did I know how much she loved animals like me until we were already good friends. Now she is like the "sister" that I never had growing up....
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!
Please go to "it's not easy being Greenies"
I did posted the happy news about my sister's cat, Charlie; I wanted to shared with you all.
Have a good day.
I hope it is Vivi's DAY today!!
I am so happy for your sister Paula. I know she is relieved to have him back. This is very good news.
Kathleen-I love the "bedspread with a sunroof" comment. Very funny! I couldn't agree more about animal lovers being drawn together. We are our own breed, aren't we? I'm also thrilled about Paula's cat. I know firsthand what it's like to have a pet go missing and get him back weeks later. The joy is overwhelming! That's why I am so psyched about Vivi going home to her family. Let's hope for some news this weekend.
INFO ABOUT THE CANDLE SITE FROM MARTHER:::::::
Just went on the candle site to find info on candles. Here it is:
Candle site will display up to 24 new candles per day per person and up to 100 new candles per person per week. While on occasion we may allow you to exceed these limits, the excess candles may or may not display publicly. Such excess candles will not be counted in group or country statistics.
I just went off the candle site and couldn't get Vivi's candles to stay above 70. I guess I used my limit for now. Has there been any news yet?
I got it to lite up to 89 by putting one letter of the alphabet in the comments section when I couldn't think of anything else to say. As long as the message was different it let me lite my limit.
WHY KAY! YOU SNEAKY LITTLE SKANK....GOOOD FOR YOU AND I'LL NOW TRY YOUR TACTICS...........
WE NEED CANDLES FOR VIVI, MADISON = B+, CUBBY WHO JUST DIED AFTER A LONG FIGHT WITH CANCER..DUKE MENDENDEZ WHO NEEDS TO GET OUT OF A ALMOST 4 YEAR JAIL STAY,
MOSTY I LIGHT CANDLES FOR VIVI, I WANT HER TO BE RESCUED SOOOO MUCH!
YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! (0:
Rats! I was hoping for some news...anything...this morning. I've been thinking all weekend about everyone involved who is out there searching. You are outstanding people and WHEN Vivi is found, there will never be enough "thank you's" to heap on you.
I, sorry to say, had forgotten about Duke. Are we still waiting for a decision or is there another trial date set? I just can't remember.
Pam, Pam, Pam...how could you forget about Duke?
shame, shame on youuuuuuuuuu....
No decision yet, there is a court date coming up..
Pray for the boy, he needs to get out of jail...He remains a sweet boy, but almost 4 years is just too long for a dog to be locked up.....
Nothing on Vivi that I've heard. I'm with you Lorraine, I'm on pins and nooooodles waiting and waiting to hear something..
Four years is a travesty to keep that poor baby locked up away from his family. Is there any influential person who could help out? I e-mailed Rachel Ray a few times and got no response outside of the automated one. In the shadow of Vick, this case should be rushed through and Duke released to be home with his family.
Lorraine, Rooooby, I'm in the same shape waiting for news about Vivi. It's time for her journey to end and be home with Jill and Rick.
I for one feel the same way about Vivi....her long journey should be ending so she can be reunited with Jil and Rick!
We all need some happy news!!!
So where are Darlene, Debbie and the Vivi footsoldiers?? And what about Bonnie!??
So we are in the same boat about the no news on Vivi.
Waiting is a very hard part!!
HI ALL I'M HERE TO ASK THAT WE TRY TO HELP DUKE THE PITBULL. I'VE FOUND OUT THAT HIS CASE WILL BE PUT ON THE CALENDAR FOR THE END OF OCTOBER... THAT'S WHEN THIS SWEET BOY'S FATE WILL BE DECIDED - BY A PANEL OF JUDGES IN THE APPELLATE DIVISION. AFTER TALKING WITH DUKE'S LAWYER, THE GENERAL FEELING IS "THE MORE LETTERS IN SUPPORT OF DUKE - THE BETTER". YOU GUYS HAVE DONE IT BEFORE AND I'M BEGGING YOU DO IT AGAIN. PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES AND WRITE A LETTER IN SUPPORT OF OUR DUKE.
THE ADDRESS IS :
Appellate Division 2nd Department
45 Monroe Place
Brooklyn, NY 11201
Duke's lawyer wrote:
Please have people put the following information at the top of their letters:
Dominick Motta v. Denise Menendez, Index No. 2007- 02998
(and to put at the top of their letters that their letters are in support of Duke and the Appellant Denise Menendez)
THANK YOU GUYS AND PRAY FOR OUR POOR DUKE THAT HE CAN FINALLY BE FREED AFTER ALL THIS TIME....
MONICA
ROOOOOBY, I didn't know Cubby had died. That is so sad. I lit a Candle for him but I've forgotten who is Mommy is. Am doing a letter for poor Duke. I guess there's no real news about Vivi's recent sighting---The little girl who brought us all here.If only a positive ID could be made by someone who really knows what she looks like. I have never stopped praying for Vivi to come home.
Hello everyone, I haven't checked in for ages, and I'm sure glad I did. Please know that I continue to pray for you all, and all of your animals. (So sorry, to hear about Terri, and the loss of Cubby!)
My home computer's internet modem died, and I've been too cheap to replace it yet. I can only correspond through school--so it has been minimal/after hours. I will try to post a prayer sometime tomorrow around 3:00 PM.
I do have good news--we are finally getting an animal blessing ceremony at St. Mary's on Sunday, and we are going to take up a box of pictures of animals to be blessed. (YOU CAN BET VIVI'S PICTURE,AND THE PICTURES OF YOUR ANIMALS-THOSE THAT I HAVE WILL BE IN THE BOX) If you want to send me pictures at home e-mail me at schoate@ecsd.us and I will send you my home address (some of you have it already.) I will make sure they are all blessed on Sunday. Thursday is St. Francis' feast day- October 4th.
For Vivi-
Creator of Heaven and Earth and all living creatures we raise in confidence a prayer for "our" Vivi. We feel she has reached a turning point, and may be heading into unsafe territory, Let her find a person to trust a person who will take her to safety and home. Vivi's angels would be a good choice, but we're not telling you who to send her to, just help her find someone who loves You and who loves animals. Your human hands and feet in New York are now carrying St. Francis',and St. Anthony, medals or cards with them. They are doing this to honor and acknowledge You Almighty Father, and to pay tribute to our human brothers Anthony and Francis who honored You through Your amazing animals. We thank You for sending us the miracle we have been waiting for. We thank You for keeping Vivi safe for us. Author of Creation bring this story to its happy ending. Lead Vivi to one who is Your physical presence on Earth. Bring her home to us, We ask this in confidence in Your name, and in the name of Your compassionate Son, Jesus. All is in Your Hands Father, YOU ARE IN CHARGE! AMEN!!
(Please add an Our Father, or a prayer of Your faith, to praise and Thank God.)
One last thing--Do you remember Spit McGee? He is a little cat that suffers from cardiomyopathy. Here is an update. Please pray for him/ and his "Mom".
Dear Friends,
I'm having a problem getting Spit McGee to eat. They changed the
formula on his prescription cat food and now he doesn't like it. We've
tried 2 other types and still no real luck. I'm getting extremely
worried....he's not eating like he needs to, appears to be losing
weight, and of course lack of food effects his "outputs". We have a
vet appointment on Monday afternoon and a Cardiologist appointment on
Thursday.
Please pray for Spitty's appetite to return and to start eating healthy
again. I'm so worried. I don't want to "force feed" because of the
heart condition - he can't be under stress and to force feed him would
be extremely stressful on him.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and friendship. You have all
become my family and I can't tell you how much I appreciate each and
everyone of you.
May God Bless you with his abundant riches.
Much love,
Jeanine & Spit McGee
I was really hoping there was a break on ViVi when you posted another sighting in August. This is so sad. I know a lot of good has come for other animals from ViVi's misfortune, but I just pray her day will come to go home as well.
AMY - AMEN... I know we all feel this way. It is so sad thinking of her out there by herself when we ARE able to help so many others. But I just keep reminding myself God has a plan in all of this. Maybe He is waiting for that one special rescue to take place before Vivi comes back home safely.
In the meantime, I pray for her safety and keep reminding myself God will hear our prayers, and we cannot be with her but He certainly can and always will be for us. God bless her little soul - she will never know the number of people and animals she has helped in her journeys.
Hi Everyone,
Sharon, so nice to see you back! Your prayer was so beautiful.
I don't know if any of you are having allergy problems with your animals. My 13 yr. old yorkie is having a bad bout with it. She chewed her front leg, tail and rear end up so bad that they bled. This is the worse she's ever had it. She's on children's benedryl and betagen topical spray. If this doesn't work she has to get an injection. Right now she has stopped biting but is so out of it.
Hoping for some good vivi news real soon,
Laura
LAURA- I had the same problem with my Basset about a year ago. He had himself chewed raw and was miserable. After several visits and a few different meds my vet suggested another one, which unfortunately I've forgotten the name of. It did the trick. It's potent stuff and not all dogs can handle it. It was something he had to get several times a day with no food for about a week-10 days. The vet's receptionist had her dog on it and she was having some problems with vomiting and gas. She had to take her off of it. However, my Farley did wonderfully on it and after the prescription was finished, he was cleared up. Ask your vet...I'm sure he knows which one I'm talking about. If I think of the name of it, I'll write back. One otherdrawback..it was expensive.
Hi Sharon! Good to have you back. Missed you on here. Laura, I've got a dog that licks her one leg raw. The vet diagnosed it as allergies. If I stay on the right dog food she's okay but I cannot deviate from it at all or she's back gnawing on her leg. I did have topical spray that the vet said she wouldn't like the taste of but she did.
Getting her on the right dog food helped tremendously thanks to Darlene's suggestion!!
Pam - What dog food did you use? My Tinkerbell has been doing this some. Thanks.
Kathleen - check your e-mail. I couldn't post it to the blog. It thought I was a spammer.

Michael Vick's dogs may find other homes
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071002/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_vick_dogs_1;_ylt=AkGzRC3OyEnleV3vp8NWY6YE1vAI
I just read the Vick article. At least something good might come out of this horrible situation and most of the dogs can be placed in other settings. Hopefully the judge will agree with the experts' findings.
My cocker spaniel is itching and biting her paws and other areas. Months ago she had an allergic reaction and other problems to flea bites and that finally calmed down. We think she has allergies. The vet said the food she eats shouldn't be a problem but she is reacting to something. I started the fish oil capsules and cleaning her ears daily since cockers are prone to infections. This year seems worse than others.
Never mind my animals itching. I am going crazy
with itchies right now. I feel like I have fleas.
I really don't have allergies, but wow I have
scratched my skin raw. I finally made a doctors appt to see what the heck is causing this itching.
Sharon so great to have you back. We miss the old
timers
Hi Everyone,
In response to my dog's allergy problem, I did forget to mention that a few years ago my 2 dogs, yorkie and cairn terrier, had a bout with itching and biting and the vet said they were allergic to fleas also. They were put on pregnazone (excuse spelling). They were drinking excessively and gained a lot of weight which I know is a side affect. I didn't want my yorkie to go through that again. She's calmed down some today but is so out of it from the children's benedryl. She sleeps with it but when she gets up she pants a lot. Can't wait till this runs its course.
Laura
Laura, my first cocker spaniel, Santana, had allergies but the only symptom he had was his nose would swell up to triple its size. The vet would put him on Prednisone and it would go down after a couple of days. This happened every year, once or twice. There is always something with our babies.
Sharon, it's great to read your posts again as well as others who have checked in.

Prayer For Our Animal Friends
(With permission The Prayer Pet Line)
Link to Pet Prayer Line
Heavenly Father, our human ties with our friends of other species is a wonderful and special gift from You. We now ask You to grant our special animal companions your Fatherly care and healing power to take away any suffering they have. Give us, their human friends, new understanding of our responsibilities to these creatures of yours.
They have trust in us as we have trust in You; We are on this earth together to give one another friendship, affection, and caring. Take our heartfelt prayers and fill Your ill or suffering animals with healing Light and strength to overcome whatever weakness of body they have.
( Here mention the names of the animals needing prayer )
Your goodness is turned upon every living thing and Your grace flows to all Your creatures. Grant to our special animal companions long and healthy lives. Give them good relationships with and if You see fit to take them from us, help us to understand that they are not gone from us, but only drawing closer to You. Grant our petitions through the intercession of good St. Francis of Assisi, who honored You through all Your creatures.

UPDATE FROM VALERIE ABOUT DANTE AND HIS SURGERIES:::
Hello Everyone,
Prayers are still needed.
I have been told that my first email was not received by many and I don't know why so I will try and resend it so everyone can know what has been going on.
Yesterday, Dante and I spent the entire day out at VetCare to have an ultrasound of his belly, spleen aspirate and a consultation with a surgeon about the mast cell spot found on his side. By the end of the day I was a basket case and Dante was tired. Fortunately, the ultrasound and spleen aspirate came back negative for the spread of the cancer. Therefore, it was a go to have the mass on his side removed today. However, it hasn't been that simple. During the ultrasound, it was determined that his one remaining kidney is showing signs of deterioration. It is retaining fluid, similar to what the other one had done. The ultrasound can't show exactly why so Dante will need to have a MRI/CT done to hopefully find the cause and hopefully be able to fix it. Kidneys do rejuvenate so if corrected soon it could reverse and be ok. The internal medicine specialist thinks that there is an obstruction of some sort where the ureter meets with the bladder since both ureters meet at the same spot. Plus, they saw something but couldn't make it out on the ultrasound. This is on hold though until his MCT surgery and recovery are done. His kidney function tests are coming back normal currently and we wouldn't have even known anything about until it was too late if the ultrasound wasn't done yesterday.
Today he had surgery and I got a phone call from the surgeon a little while ago to let me know that everything went well and he is in recovery right now. He will have a 10 inch scar on his side because they had to take a big margin to attempt to get it all out. She feels that it went well but we have to wait for the histology report to know more. This will take 5 days or so. She also removed 3 other small lumps and is sending them off to the lab as well. He will be at VetCare overnight and as long as no complications arise he will be able to come home tomorrow night. They will recheck his kidney function tests tomorrow to make sure that there are no changes due to the surgery. So, the first hurdle has been crossed successfully but there are still many hurdles to go. So please continue to pray or whatever it is you have been doing for Dante. I really appreciate all the support.
Sorry, if this isn't written so well but I haven't got much sleep and haven't been eating the last couple of days so my brain isn't functioning that well at this point.
Valerie, Dante, Trotter and Zipper
Roooby - Thank you for posting this report on Dante for Valerie. I will say another long prayer for him and Valerie tonight. Seems he got through the first hurdle being under the anesthesia today.
Please say a prayer for my Sophie too. Tinkerbell is very aggressive sometimes, and Sophie was sitting by me a minute ago. For no reason, Tink ran over and started a fight. I got them apart, but Sophie had some bleeding around her left eye. The eye seems okay and I'm hoping it was just a small scratch around the eye, but we may be heading to the vet in the morning if it looks bad. Right now it appears to be okay. Needless to say, I am so angry at Tinkerbell right now. Her behavior was unacceptable for sure.

KathleenSssssssss,
Poor Tink has been the top dog for a long time. It's going to be hard for her to cope with having other dogs in the house. I suggest you buy a bottle of
BETADINE so skin breaks...if it bleeds, theres a chance of infection, so clean the wound. with a cotton ball and the betadine. It saved me a lot of money with dueling cats.........Maybe poor Onnie shouldn't sit NEXT to you when Tink is around...xooxxo
NOTHING FURTHER ON DANTE THIS MORNING, 9:15 PAC TIME. Valerie was hoping to bring the little guy home from the vets...Keep praying for Dante and Valerie..She's very tired and very worried.
xoxoxo
Kathleen - Roooby is right. The (s)tinkster was top dog and now she's got to share you with two others. Dogs can be like a 2 year old. They don't understand the concept of sharing. My two can get into hissy fits once in awhile when they have to share my attention and they've been together their whole lives.
9:43Cauli-for-nee-a time! Valerie just called me re Dante. Dante had a good night, wouldn't pee, so at 10:30 she got dressed to go to the vets...She no sooner got on the freeway when the vet called and said Dante did his doodie and was fine...His kidney function this a.m. is good, including the test..If all goes well, Valerie will be able to pick him up on her way home from work at 1 a.m..(she's an ER nurse)....
She thanks you all for your prayers and candles....It's a hard time for everyone who knows and loves Dante..
More whenever I get a report..xoxox roooby
ROOOBY - Wow, that is good news for our sweet boy Dante. I wonder who will be happiest to see the other person - she or Dante! Bet there will be lots of whippet kisses going on.
Sophie seems fine this morning. I did not know whether to use anything around that eye, so I just washed it off good with nice warm water. No more bleeding, but it really scared me at first to see the blood around her little eye. I was just sitting at my desk typing on the computer with Sophie sitting next to me on the floor watching me. Tink was in the bed. Then all of a sudden for no reason she jumped off the bed and ran over and started the fight with poor little Sophie. I really scowled her though, and then loved her this morning and told her how bad she had acted last night.
ROOOBY AND PAM - It is DEFINITELY a challenge with these three dogs. You would think Onnie the large girl would be the aggressor, but no - sweet little (S)Tinkerbell is ... Onnie is really quite laid back and gentle with the other two small girls and the cat. She just jumps and runs with them and acts silly, and makes sure to give Mr. Bo the feline his nose touches and kisses all the time. She and Bo are such good friends. Onnie has really saved Bo from grieving himself to death after our Booger kitty passed away earlier this year.
That's great news Rooooby. I have been praying for them both. It's great that Valerie is a nurse. She understands these thing better than anyone and even though she is upset this will help her. Thanks for the news.
Everyone please vote on this ASAP and then forward to as many people as you know to vote also

Done Mer-Lou...The good people were way ahead.
KathleenSssss, in my house, Lilly is the boss and Satchel doesn't mind or if he doesn, he never complains. Lil' has never drawn blood but she's like a dog possessed at times...She'll be resting and all of a sudden get off the bed and run over to Satchel and tell him she's the boss...She's a snot and he's sooo good to her...Also::::::::Satchel is Lilly's comfort and security at the vets or in the car...She just has a short memory I guess..
ROOOBY - Guess that is the case with (S)Tinkerbell too. I keep watching the Dog Whisperer and reminding myself I NEED TO BE THE ALPHA DOG, but (S)Tinkerbell seems to always win out. I love her dearly, but sometimes she can be a little "pain in the you know where." I just felt so sorry for poor little Sophie last night. She was so scared of Tink and so shocked it seemed. Sometimes she may wish she was an ONLY dog again back with her former Mommy. She is really so cute running so fast trying to keep up with Tinkerbell and big Onnie. She may be little, but the gal can sure run though....
Kathleen, my little 3 lb chi ccna keep up with the big dogs when they run. It is so funny as she runs sideways and her little pencil legs are so tiny. I also have to run after her when I let her out as I don't want a hawk or owl getting her. They will thing she is a rat. But she love it outside and she loves to run.
KAY - I can just imagine her in my mind. I bet she is SOOOO adorable. You realize that you, B-J, Nancy and I seem to be the chihuahua women on here! We all love them for sure.
Kathleen,
I got my yorkie, winnie, when she was only 3 lbs. Introduced her to my cairn, wesley, who was 3 yrs. old at the time and only liked adults. well winnie sniffed at wesley's cookie on the floor and before I could blink he had her in his mouth and was about to shaker her. My husband yelled, wesley, no!, and thankfully he dropped her. She was screaming and pooped all down the front of my husband's shirt. We kept her in a playpen until wesley got used to her. If winnie stepped over her bounds wesley did put her in her place and snapped at her. Now 10 yrs. later winnie is the "princess" and growls at wesley all the time if he gets too close to her. He cowers in the corner if she growls at him. I think all animals will go through moments of jealousy. Tinkerbell might have just had a "moment". Going through menopause I also have "moments" with snapping at my husband (I know he's thankful I never drew blood!)....lol.
Take care,
Laura
I think dogs feel natural in a pack. they are not solitary animals. (Of course you are the leader of their pack so they aren't solitary if you are there, but still) There is always some jockeying for position but they almost always work it out pretty fast. In my experience the bitches have more trouble with it than the the boys, but they know the pecking order instinctively.
I got my Lilly so Satchel would have a buddy and boy what a mistake that was...Sometimes my sweet Satchel looks at me like, WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO MA? I WAS FINE, SPOILED AND HAPPY, NOW THAT DOG PICKS ON ME...HEH HEH
VALERIE TOOK DANTE HOME TODAY AROUND 2 P.M....HE WAS VERY TIRED, BUT THEN, SO WAS POOR vALERIE..HER MOM WILL BE TAKING CARE OF HIM FOR A DAY OR SO, SO zIPPER DOESN'T BOTHER HIM...KEEP PRAYING AND LIGHTING CANDLES, ITS NOT OVER YET, HE HAS A LONG WAY TO GO, BUT HE AT LEAST HAD THE MAST CELL SURGERY.
DANTE REPORT, SATURDAY MORNING...9:00 A.M.
Valerie took Dante to his Grandma and Granddads for the night, she works nights...He is eating chicken and taking fluids, broth etc. and PEEING, which is very, very good....
Keep praying that he will continue to heal and be well..
Dont forget Vivi on the candle site..her candles are low and also light one for Dante..
LAURA - I know you must have almost died when that happened. Glad Winnie won out in the end (hee, hee).
KAREN - Sure hope my gals get this peeking order right soon. The other night was so upsetting.
ROOOBY - Poor Satchel. He sounds like Lillymae is so mean to him. Poor little guy. So glad Dante is doing so well through this. I just have a strong feeling he is going to beat this ... sure praying for him.
Hi everyone,
Just having a real bad weekend. I found out this morning that my sister-in-law Cathy who is only 49 yrs. old had a massive heart attack and is clinically brain dead. The family will have to decide when to pull the plug. Also, my husband Ralph has to go for surgery on his lungs on the 10th so the dr. can do a biopsy on the nodules to make sure it's not cancer. Please say some prayers for us as we really could use them now.
Good news on Dante. He will be in my prayers.
God Bless,
Laura
LAURA - Oh, I am so sorry to hear of your sister-in-law. Such a young age. Please let the family know they will be in my prayers.
Also praying very hard for your husband's news to be good news. My aunt had to go through this same thing a few years back. We all feared for the worse because she is a heavy smoker. Amazingly, the nodes were benign. It is a rough surgery though.
One thing I always try to remember in times like this is that Our God never gives us more to bear than we can handle, and He promises us we will grow much stronger by handling these troubles in our lives. May you have Peace and grow much, much stronger through this rough time. God bless you.
Kathleen and the Memphis Mob (Tinkerbell seems you some warm and fuzzy kisses too!)
God Bless you and your family Laura. You will all be in my prayers.
Laura, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister-in-law. You are in my thoughts and prayers as your family has to make that heartbreaking decision. Many of us can identify with this.
Your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself.
TIME FOR SOME REALLY GOOD NEWS ON THIS BLOG. THE ANIMAL HOUSE "HUMAN" BABY, MADISON, IS DOING SOOOO MUCH BETTER. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED LOVE AND PRAYERS FOR LITTLE PRINCESS MADISON.

October 6
I know you all must be anxious to hear an update. Well I'm anxious to share one! It's hard to do frequent updates because there just isn't a lot to say on a daily basis. We plug along and before I know it, it's time to fall into bed only to get up and do the same thing all over the next day. But, I will start posting more often even if it is just to say all is well. Today however, I am very excited to update everyone. It's not the boring old nothing new, we are still plugging along update. Fact is, things are happening! We started the cross crawl about 6 weeks ago. It continues to go well, although sometimes it's hard to get it in every hour. Dr. Talamantez sent a video of us doing it to Dr. Carrick in Amsterdam to keep him updated on everything and he responded that he was very pleased. He said that we probably don't see it because we see her everyday, but he sees some changes in her. She has different eye movements and better tone. He's wrong...I have noticed. Madison really seems more aware since we started working with Dr. Talamantez. But, one of the biggest things I've noticed since we started the cross crawl, is Madison's tone has decreased! Her spasticity and tone were still on the high side. You could open her hands, but if you wanted her fingers straight, you had to bend her wrist down. Now, I can fully extend her fingers even with a straight wrist. This isn't 100% of the time yet, but overall her tone is much better. Dr. Talamantez says this is because she is starting to have some higher brain function so her brain is inhibiting the spasticity. (I think those are the words he used)
We are also noticing still more control of her eyes. She is making better eye contact and seems to look around more. Today was an exciting day for us. John was carrying Madison around like Dr. Talamantez instructed him to and every time he'd go into the hallway where the pictures are, madison would lift her head like she was trying to look at them. But, wait...it gets better!!!! Madison tried to laugh today!! Well, at least I think that's what she was doing. After Madison's cross crawl exercise, I still had her laying on the floor and as I moved her position, her shirt came up exposing her belly. So, I was being playful with her and took my hands and fingers and did a tickling motion all up and down her belly and ribs while I said "tickle tickle tickle!" She got a pleasant look on her face and let out a soft vocalization. It was kind of like an ahhhhhhh sound. So, I tickled her again and she did the same thing. Two times when I tickled her she even lifted up her arm! I really think that Madison was trying to laugh and I have to say that it really REALLY made me happy!!! Praise God
As you can see Madison continues to fight. Please continue to pray for her and as always B+ for Madison!
Hi Everyone,
I want to thank you all for the kindness and caring through my time of need. My sister-in-law is still on life support. They were waiting for her brother to drive from Florida and I guess he wanted to spend some time with her. I have to say, I know this is an animal blog but the outpouring of love and kindness towards everyone that shares a trouble on here is beyond words. I am so grateful to have happened upon this site and met the nicest people I know. Our Miss Vivi has done a wonderful thing. Unfortunately, she hasn't been found yet. But maybe God has some more things in store before she comes home. I just pray for her safety everyday.
Such great news on Madison! She will be in my prayers. That little girl sure is a fighter. God Bless her.
My yorkie, winnie is over her allergy problem. The topical spray actually cured her. The children's benedryl made her crazy. She would dart around the house and twice she was on my bed, stared me right in the face and peed! Luckily my bed is waterproofed! So now my husband and I call her "crazy lady".
Take care,
Laura
LAURA - You are so right. These folks have been right there with me through so many upsetting and troubled times. They have big, big hearts for sure.
Prayers still for your family. A good friend of my brother recently went through the same thing with his father. It was so, so hard on them, I know.
What topical spray helped Winnie? I would like to give it a try with Tinkerbell too.
Keep your chin up and keep the faith. God is always there watching over us.
Kathleen,
The topical spray is betagen. It really did the trick for winnie. It smells a lot like rubbing alcohol. But it took the redness away from her skin and she is not biting anymore.
Laura, you sure are right about this blog. The
fellow bloggers helped me so much and became my friends when my whippet Nell became so ill and eventually she died last year. I am so sorry for your pain and your SIL. Prayers that your husband
will be fine.
Take Care

John Henry, the great racehorse who was winning races until he was almost 10, died at age 32. He was a real character and this article is almost funny.
Hi!
BLOGGERS: Please pray for the friend of mine, her younger brother, Craig committed suicide at the age of 38. they are a very strong Christian family.
Thank you for caring so much!!
God bless you all.
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's brother. Suicide is so tragic. My thoughts and prayers are with the family who must be dealing with grief and shock. Suicide's victims are the ones who are left behind. My heart goes out to them.
PAULA - What a sad thing. Someone so young. I have personally witnessed what the family goes through after my daughter-in-law's father committed suicide a couple of years ago. Selena gave the babies his last name as their middle name (Webb) in his honor.
I watched her go through the sadness and anger also, and it was heartbreaking. After the memorial service, when she got back to the house she went by his recliner and kicked it hard out of anger. I thought she was going to break her foot, God love her. I put my arms around her and took her into the bedroom where we could talk and cry together. She just had to let it out to get through that day. He had been battling depression and would not take his meds for this. One thing that she said really helped her was something I noticed that day of the memorial service. I believe God had a big part in me noticing this. In the bathroom, I noticed her father had taken his medications the very morning before committing suicide from his pillbox over the sink. I mentioned this to her, and it helped her realize this was something in his depression that hit very suddenly and he had not planned this ahead obviously. Why take meds if you are going to shoot yourself later!
The twins have helped heal this pain somewhat. She now has the recliner in their den, and would curl up in it towards the end of her pregnancy a lot. Share lots of memories and hugs with this family, along with prayers. They help a lot.
SUSAN L. AND KATHLEEN: Thank you for your caring.
Craig killed himself over the breakdown marriage. They have a 6 year old son together. He died on Saturday October 6 in the morning. He was found by his poor older sister and her hubby in Craig's own garage.
It was so hearbreaking for all of them, it is their first time with the death of their loved one.
Paula,
So sorry to hear about your friend's brother. My prayers will be with them to try and get through this tragic time. I'm sure no words can express their sadness.
My brother had the tubes and respirator removed from my sister-in-law yesterday. She is still breathing on her own as of today. It could be any time now. My brother is trying to be so strong. But within a year he lost his job of 35 yrs., lost his house because of this and now his wife. I feel so bad for him.
My husband goes for his surgery tomorrow. Please say prayers for all. I'm so worried about them both.
God Bless,
Laura
LAURA:Thanks for your caring and comforting. I will pray for you also.
I think suicide is the worst types to end one's life. I still can't imagined as how or why someone wants to end the life.
I love the life way too much!
So sad for my friend and her extended families who comes from a very strong Christian and very close-knit people. In their own families the divorces are so rare in their lifetimes; so the death is the first one they ever had to experience in their own lives. And have to go through so much emotional turmoils, confusions....
So sad!
PAULA - It is also so very sad for his son. He is old enough to remember, and will carry this with him I am sure. I hope they will be sure and get some counseling for this child to help him.
LAURA - My prayers are very much with you and your family. I know how hard it must be waiting for this lady to take her last breath and praying so hard for a miracle at the same time.
Please post as soon as you can and let us know about your dear husband. Our prayers will be with him. What time is his surgery and what time zone, and I will be sure and stop and pray at that time especially for him?
Love Kathleen and the Memphis Mob
Oh Good Lord, time for the bloggers to get together for big time prayers and virtual hugs.
I am so sorry Laura and Paula for what you are both
going t hru, suicide is horrible, and the family left behind has so many obstacles to overcome.
Pls stay strong Paula, the family will need you more than ever, and Laura I feel the pain that you
are feeling, it is so hard to make the decision to
take the person off life support. I am going outside right now to pray my heart out for healing
and guidance for you and your families, I pray for you both, I have been there in both scenerios and it
is so hard to cope with
Gentle Hugs,
Sue G
Hi Everyone,
On the Ellen Degeneras show, she had the woman who lost her dog Bosco while moving from Las Vegas to LA. He had been staying with her mother. He had no collar on him but had the home again chip. Thanks to the chip, Bosco was found 3 1/2 years later in AZ. He is adorable and what an uplifting story. Another miracle that shows not to give up. It was beautiful seeing Bosco and his owner together.
Paula, thinking of your friend's family and may they find comfort in those around them.
Laura, my thoughts and prayers are with your family as they make that heartbreaking decision. Thinking of you and your husband as he has his surgery.
SUE G: Thank you for your kindness and gentle hugs from you. I feel my friend's pains and her extended family to go thru. Today they buried Craig this morning. And I have not heard from my good friend since I got her news from personal email last Saturday night.
I have not been to their viewing or funeral because I don't wanted to burden on my friend for signing to me or in their ways so I stayed home.
SUSAN L. Thanks again for the comforting and kindness words.
We the bloggers stick together through the laughters, cryings, fightings, the like thanks to wonderful lost gentle whippet dog name is VIVI!!
Pray we will heard the good news on finding VIVI!!
God bless you both.
Hi Everyone,
I was at the hospital all day with my husband. His surgery went very well. The doctor got all the nodules from the right lung out and all x-rays showed no cancer and clear lungs. I am so relieved. Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers. It really means so much to me and my family.
When I called my brother today to get an update on my sister-in-law he told me she is still breathing on her own and that he was having dinner in the hospital cafeteria with his daughter for his birthday. I told him I would talk to him tomorrow and to have a good night because if I stayed on the phone with him any longer I would have lost it. Needless to say, when I hung up I just cried my heart out for them both. I felt so bad. I just keep telling my brother that he's been a wonderful husband and is a wonderful father and to always remember how happy they were. Again, thank you all so much for being there for me. It trully does help me a lot.
God Bless,
Laura

Wonderful news for you and your husband, Laura. My thoughts and prayers for your brother's family. It's a very tough time to go through. Had the same situation a couple of years ago happen in my family.
Paula, also my thoughts and prayers to your friend's family. There is so much sorrow and anger to deal with in a situation like that. I pray that his son can receive the comfort and support he needs at a time like this.
Deb in Norcal, there is Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah that helps animals and organizations all over the country. I have contacted troy@bestfriends.org for other situations and they respond pretty quick.
I might be wrong on this but I think I received an e-mail on these dogs that the facility wasn't going to adopt them out but rather send them on to other facilities to be kept for research. Of course, the e-mail is deleted so I don't remember where I received the info from.
Hi Everyone,
My husband came home from the hospital today. Is doing very well. Thank you all for your prayers and concern.
Any more news on that sighting of vivi? I don't think I saw anymore updates on this last sighting. With this bad weather and heavy rain she is very much on my mind.
Keeping the faith,
Laura
Great news about your husband, Laura. So much for you to deal with all at once. Continued prayers and wishes for good health for all your family. I know how it is for your sister in law and family too with the suddenness of her heart attack. My sister in law came home one early Saturday afternoon from working overtime, a day she normally would not have worked, and found my brother crumpled on the floor, he had had a heart attack when she was at work, and unfortunately did not make it. No real history of illness, but then he rarely went to the doctor either. One of those who would not go.
I was wondering about any news on Vivi also. If anything panned out with video around the toll booths. Maybe they are not allowed to disclose things on those videos though. It looks like if it is her she is back near JFK again. Perhaps she made her way back there and wintered there. Earlier there was a guy who thought it was her he had seen closer to LaGuardia wasn't it? But then it doesn't seem any more turned up on that one either. Man, that little girl is something if she is still on the loose. I wonder if anyone has been taking care of her for any periods of time during her "disappearance"
Libby - I don't know much, but I do know at least one of the searchers whose judgment I have always put a lot of faith in really feels this may have been her near the toll booth. I have heard searches are going on and plans, but I do not know the status of any videos from the toll boothes if there were any.
I have heard everyone is working very hard again though trying to follow this lead, and hopefully maybe we will get some more sightings. Sure praying for them and to get her "pretty little face and butt" home. Just please keep the prayers and candles coming for Vivi and all the others. Please don't forget Dante, Duke and Madison (B+) too.
Libby,
I was wondering the same thing. I also wondered if there is a food station or stations in the area she was last seen. I do know some of the mail gals are at it again.
My daughter and I were with Valerie Barnard, her mom and dad and Dante, Trotter and Zipper on Thursday.
I love those dogs! Dante has quite a scar and his stitches are still in his back, but he walked with us and looked good. My daughter brought her Jack Russell and the crabby doggie walked with the 5 Whippets and didn't try to kill any of them. She was very polite..
Keep lighting candles and praying for Vivi and everyone else as KathleenSsss said.
ROOOBY - So glad to hear Dante had a nice walk with everyone. He is one amazing sweet boy!
So your daughter's little JR is a crabby doggie too. I think these little "target butt" doggies have a real alpha dog problem. Tinkerbell is okay when I am away it seems, but when home I have to watch her to keep her from getting jealous and attacking poor Sophie.
Tinkerbell picks on Sophie the chi, and Sophie will groan, bark and run up like she is going to attack poor 45-50 lb. Onnie (it's that little girl syndrome thing), but poor Onnie has no one to pick on. She is just my really sweet big, silly girl! Onnie just wants to love on everyone from to to the big black cat.
Any suggestions to keep Tink from wanting to attack Sophie would be VERY appreciated. I'm trying the water bottle spray thing now, and doesn't seem to work with this hard-headed JR of mine.
The water bottle or a tossed plastic vitamin bottle filled with rocks or coins is good because it can break things up without you being directly involved, assuming Sophie isn't in actual danger. Let those things do the talking- any attention you give Tink at this point is fine by her. Letting her think when that happens there is a rattly noise or she's wet (especially with a little vinegar mixed in) might help her understand there are consequences. Don't yell or you become a part of it and if this is in part competiton over you you don't want her to think she's getting the attention she is fighting for. Instant and consistent consequences work best in training.
Thanks Karen. I am sitting with with my piggy bank and a bottle to fill up right now and try this. The water bottle just does not seem to work with this gal. Hope this works.
Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to update on my sister-in-law. She passed away at 2:00 a.m. this morning. She is at peace now. My brother is doing okay considering. It was very hard seeing her like that.
Thank you all for your kind words and prayers.
God Bless,
Laura
LAURA - I am certainly very sorry about your loss, but I think in this situation the closure will be better for the family. Please give your brother my love and let him know I am praying for all of you. We know she is not only at Peace now, but whole and well once again and will be waiting for the rest of you to join her someday as well.
A song that has meant the world to me is the one by Josh Groban where he speaks of someone he loves being "only a breath away" (I have a feeling this is his grandmother he has said had such an impact on his life and his voice). This song gives me so much Peace when I miss my grandfather, grandmother, my great-grandparents, and my dear Aunt Janie. I remember they are truly "only a breath and heartbeat away" and the day I take that last breath and heartbeat I will close my eyes and see them once again, never to be parted again or feel the sadness I am feeling. Not far, huh! Please share this beautiful song with your brother and the others.
Hope your husband is healing well, and such wonderful news of no cancer! Please take care of yourself also, and allow yourself space to grieve this loss as well.

Josh Groban - To Where You Are
http://play.rhapsody.com/joshgroban/joshgroban/towhereyouare
Who can say for certain
Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear
Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You’re still an inspiration
Can it be (? )
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above
Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are
Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen
As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
’cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above
And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave
Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are
I know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Karen,
I use to use soft drink cans with pennies or screws in them...Loud and they don't hur, should you happen to smack the animal..........
I also had a rabbit who played with a coke can. He'd chase it around the room..
Laura, sorry about your sister in law. It must be hard on your brother even if it was expected.
I hope someone checked the toll plaze/booths again to see if maybe someone saw Vivi crossing through the hole in the fence. I wish I lived in NY so I could help! )o;
* HURT.........proof read missy...ackkkkkkkk
I put some treats in an empty can as an emergency treat ball when I took Patch to watch the Sheep Dog National Finals and he was too interested. It made so much noise it was worrying the spectators (he was in a covered crate and it sounded like a Tasmanian Devil was in it- I could hear people saying "no honey it's just a dog with a can") I had to take it out and go actually buy one. So I bet that would work if you taped the hole. The main thing for this purpose is not to speak and draw attention to yourself- it's supposed to be instant karma- every time I ___ a loud thing falls from the sky.
The Michigan contingent of Team Vivi has been working quitely on capturing an 11 year old missing whippet. Today our Rosa (Viva La Vivi)and her husband Joe captured Beyzar in a very rural area!!! This dear dog is owned by an 81 year old lady. Thanks to Rosa and Joe, he will be sleeping with his owner. Huge thanks also to our Mila who has made countless calls and faxed all over. When I asked for help, Rosa and Mila jumped right in to do everything they could. Rosa, Joe and Mila, you all ROCK!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Awwww, Jackie!!! You were our knowledgeable and fearless leader (again)in this search for the white whippet Beyzar!!!! Rosa and Joe did an awesome job on foot this afternoon in Imlay City, MI!!! Viva La Vivi Rosa!! And Joe!!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!
And thank you TeamVivi Debbie G for your ideas and reminders on rounding up a wayward whippet!!!
MILA: AMEN!! (and check your email from me it is the latest! :-) and Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Yourk and even Tennessee are the Vivi Supporters and Vivi teams! Keep finding our Vivi!
Jackie, Mila, YOU GIRLS ROCK!!! I can't thank you enough for ALL the info you dug up to get us WHERE WE NEEDED to BE TONIGHT!!
JOE and I are on the BIGGEST WHIPPET HIGH!!
I am still picking the Burrs (sp?) off of me and need to take a shower.
I phoned Dorothy just a while ago and got her machine. I told her to call and let me know how BEYZAR did at the Vet. HE had a pretty deep cut on his front leg and was limping slightly with his hind left leg.
HE IS AN ANGEL! and DOROTHY IS MY NEW HERO! for 81 yrs of age SHE KEPT up with us!! SHE WAS AMAZING!!! I have seen ONE TO MANY CORN FIELDS and heard ONE TOO MANY GUNSHOTS from the deer hunters to ever go back to the BOONIES Again!!
UNLESS there is a whippet lost!
I cannot not even begin to explain what I felt the MOMENT I saw his sweet little face walking down a little trail in the middle of a roaming field with corn fiels all around us.
MY husbands new nick name Is ACE VENTURA> HE was the one standing with DOROTHY the last time we spotted BEYZAR just minutes before dusk and he coached her through all the WHIPPET RULES!
I will let you guys know how BEYZAR is doing as soon as I hear.
VIVA LA VIVI!!!! SHE SAVES ANOTHER ONE! GOD LET IT BE HER TURN! ITS ALL HER DOING, NOT MINE.
Rosa
ROSA: Bless you my heart! Vivi turns!!
Rosa may you and Joe always carry the happiness in your hearts that you felt when you saw Beyzar at that special moment!! You and "Ace" are just incredible people to do such a kind deed for this dear dog and this dear elderly lady! He is in my prayers tonight for a total recovery from that leg cut. Congratulations and thank you again!
Laura, My sympathy to you and your brother's family on your sister-in-law's passing.
Your husband receiving a thumbs up that there was no cancer is wonderful. May he have a speedy recovery.
Rosa and the Michigan Team, job well done. Beyzar and his family reuntied is news we all love to read.
I saw on Fox a report that shows that animal lovers come in all types. In AZ, the warden of a prison has rescued dogs, cats and horses from bpts and keeping them in the air conditioned jail cells. The inmates have been moved to tents and the women inmates help take care of these animals who were victims of cruelty. This wonderful man says that the animals had no choice in their situations while the inmates chose to break the law. He has gotten many donations from influential people to support the animals and the inmates become better people by caring and learning to love these animals. These babies are then available for adoption. This man rocks!
ROSA, ACE, MILA, JACKIE, AND ALL YOU OTHERS THAT WORK SOOOO HARD TO HELP THESE ANIMALS - YOU ALL ROCK!
I am so happy to hear of this baby home with his 81-year-old Mommy. How wonderful! My question Rosa, how did you get Debbie G to talk "slowly" enough to coach you - just kidding Debbie. It was so funny talking to Debbie with her NY accent as fast as New Yorkers talk. Every now and then I would catch up with what she was saying (hee, hee). You know how SLOW we Southern folks talk! Love you all dearly though.
Mila is ALWAYS looking at updates from shelters looking for ALL the lost animals. She is my "shero" for sure. I tried, but my heart cried too much trying to do this.
JACKIE, you are also another one of these quiet little voices in the background (along with Rosa, Marnie and Ace Ventura too) always working hard and helping in this search for all the babies.
Of course, we have our pitbull rescuers as well out there. Jill H sure did train them well.... Look out Michael "Ick" if you EVER meet these ladies - they are out for blood!
Then there is sweet Kathy in Colorado working for the horses all the time. Latest venture, helping raise money to help Tank get his surgery. Successful surgery, and Tank if feeling much, much better!
Roooby is out there working for Duke and reminding us all of the candles we need to keep lite and the letters we need to write to put away "scums" and protect the animals, as well as being a part of that pitbull rescue as well along with Meri Lou and many, many others.
OMG, there are SO many heroes (or should I say "sheros") on this blog! I have been so blessed to get to know each of you. Now, have to get busy cleaning a house before company comes over later. Time to Dyson up Onnie hair BIGTIME!
BTW, Onnie's rescue Dad that has helped, Phil, ordered her one of those fancy beds on legs (Karunda I think is the name). The kind that are supposed to be "non-chewable." We will see. I have faith in my big girl. Tink and Sophie will be "pea green with envy." I can see two more beds coming soon.
I have my own GOOD NEWS about Madison I will post below. Thank you all for your love, candles and prayers (B+). Things are REALLY happening with each day.
MADISON UPDATE:
October 13
This entry was posted on Saturday, October 13, 2007 11:39 PM and is filed under uncategorized.
Hello again from South Texas! The past few days have been really up and down. Late in the week, Madison had an awesome day and was vocalizing all day. It was almost like she was trying her voice out. She had vocalized some in the past, but nothing like this! It was non stop all day! We were very excited! She just was so aware and so loose and talkative. The natural tendency when we see her doing new things is to push her and want to do a lot to get more and unfortunately, that is the worst thing we could do. The day after all the new things she was doing, her brain needed to rest and she didn't do as much. The chiropractic neurologist said that new areas of her brain are being stimulated and working and that is very overwhelming for her. So, basically it was like working out hard and being sore the next day. I got scared the other night because since I got that laugh out of her, I wanted to show a friend of mine. So, I started to tickle her. She smiled but no laugh. So, I did it again and every time, her smile got bigger and bigger. Well, I pushed it too hard and she went into the biggest spasm I have seen. She clenched her fists, pulled her arms up under her chin and arched her back. She was not breathing either and started to turn red. It passed fairly quickly, but scared me so much. The chiropracic neurologist explained that tickling is a very intense stimulation and she cannot tell us when she has had too much. So, I just took it too far. I felt horrible. He reminded me that gentle stimulation is the way to go. It sure has worked so far so I am not going to mess with something that is working.
Today was a very good day. She was loose and aware. Daddy went to a marching band contest tonight and when he got home, we both walked into her room. She immediately started smiling so much. She knows she is loved!!
Oh, and before I end this update I just have to add that Madison lost her second tooth today!! Tooth fairy is busy! Anyway, we are still plugging along. Keep praying for Madison's miracle and as always B+ for Madison!

Just after posting about Tank's surgery, I checked my e-mail and found he has had a setback. Here is a letter from Kathy in Colorado. Could you all please pray and light candles for this big guy? I know Kathy would appreciate it as well as Tank.
------------------
Hi everyone - I'm asking that you lift up your prayers and white energy, light candles - for
Tank - the big chocolate horsey they had the partial penis amputation this past week....
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=tank
Morning Gang,
I got an early call 06:45 from hospital. Never a good thing.
Tank had a set back last night, not sure how bad yet, but a fever of 104F, some bowel air pockets and gut not as active as it should be, some level of colic). We are not sure how critical the temp is I know normal is about 101F.
If anyone has suggestions for vet questions or some idea about the fever source, colic, op site, they had no idea at hospital yet, am supposed to hear back in a couple of hours if I dont break down and call them first in an hour or so.
I dont feel his life is at risk yet, and may not be just worried, you know. We might got back out today, if needed.
Keep praying

ATTENTION: NY GIRLS!
I just want you all to know that last night while posting, searching, walking, running, in hopes for a rescued Bayzar, YOU WERE ALL ON MY MIND every second of my 5 HR experience wich COULD NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS COMPARE TO all the efforts you have made for Vivi.
I have alway's appreciated all you have done for her, but last night I got a very small taste of the emotional rollercoaster YOU ANGELS have experienced through many months of looking for Vivi.
At one point when we lost sight of Beyzar and dusk was upon us, all I could think of was how much it was going to hurt to have to leave the area not knowing where the night would take him and worry for his safety.
THEN I THOUGHT this has to be the same PAIN the girls in NY lived over and over, time after time they were out looking for Vivi.
I Have a NEW FOUND RESPECT FOR WHAT YOU ALL HAVE DONE! YOU ALL MAKE ME PROUD!!!!
After asking Jackie and Mila the night before to pray for a small tiny Miracle just something small that will give us hope for all our efforts. OUR PRAYERS were answerd.
I was lucky enough to have the reward of Beyzar's safety and watch his mom smile from ear to ear.
I WILL keep praying that all you girls in NY who have done so much from the bottom of your hearts, that the physical and emotional pain that I am postive you have all experienced along with your many EFFORTS will be rewarded with a RESCUE of VIVI!!
UNTILL then I pray you all stay safe, and please know how PROUD Iam of all of you.
VIVA LA VIVI!
LOVE, ROSA
I forgot to mention the PHYSICAL pain that went along with my little 5 hr search. I should be in a body cast today. Joe requested a body bag this morning, minus the two tag, since he still had some breath left in him.lol
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW YOU GIRLS PHYSICALLY did this for so LONG!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
SORRY I meant TOE TAG! OOPS!
Rosa,
You've got that right! No body knows the pain the NY gals have gone through until you wear their shoes...
I was "there" once with a neighbors Lab..I was sick, had a 102 fever and still hunted for the doggie. I was the one who found her...it made my day. She had climbed some free hanging cement steps at an apartment house a few miles from us. Fortunately, she was afraid to go down the steps so she stayed there over night and then some and was found!
Good girl Rosa...
Great job Rosa and your hubby too! You've deserve a treat from your chocolate fountain. Viva La Vivi. It's gotta be her turn now!!
Rosa ---- greyt work on catching Beyzar.
It has been ages since I have been able to log on to this site and actually post - condolences to all of those that have lost loved ones and greyt news on Little Madison. Every day is a treasure
KATHY - Praying hard for our precious Tank to heal and make it through this rough time after his surgery. Good you see you.

> Since the beginning of the year, approximately 30,000 American horses
> have been shipped to Mexico for slaughter. They have been shipped in
> deplorable conditions and have been sent to slaughter in the most
> horrendous ways possible. Most are shipped through El Paso TX and Los
> Lunas NM. But we must tread lightly. Pro slaughter people are using
> this information as propaganda to justify why we are wrong in closing
> the plants in America!! It is a very fine line when talking to
> legislators. As difficult as it is, please concentrate on the
> transport of the horses more than the conditions in Mexico The only
> way we will win this battle is with more awareness. We now know from
> our poll that we have a lot of support in the senate. This is a chance
> to get the rest of the undecided senators on board. Now that the
> plants have ceased operation in this county, we must grab this
> opportunity to push for legislation that will end the transport of
> horses to slaughter. Use this time wisely…..we are at a critical point
> and actually have a chance to make a difference!!

20 months since Vivi ran off at JFK airport.....I was hoping the last sighting at that toll plaza would pan out, but I've heard nothing about the video's being watch to see if Vivi could be seen crossing the area.
There was lots of talk about what was going to be done, but no reports except for the faithful gals who are still mailing to the NY areas.
I wonder if Vivi can last another Winter in NY?
Light a candle for her and say a few prayers for her safe return or pray that someone has her in a nice warm house.
* watched to see
I am praying that someone has her -- she has to be wild and very frail if she is still out there on her own.
Here is the latest on Tank from his "dad":
PM Tank update:
temp almost normal
eating hay small portions for now will increase tomorrow
Dr Quintaros expects some diarrhea tomorrow but will support with IV fluids and meds
May become laminitic, but every hour that passes reduces the likelyhood of it, they have been doing everything they can to prevent this, iceing feet and meds
Given a couple of doses of a anti-microbial gastric med by NG tube to "soak up " some of the bacteria. New to me, but they say it reduces the severity of diarrhea.
When I spoke to Dr Quintaros tonight 18:00 he was the most optimistic I have ever heard him be...
It really sounds like our big boy is really on the way
Dr also said he has been retracting the stump of his penis. This is a huge deal for his future comfort and well-being
To light a candle for Tank, go to: http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=tank
and while you are there, light a few for our little girl - Vivi and for Princess Madison too.
Kathy, the gal who saw Vivi at the toll plaza told Rosa that she looked good...not terribly thin either.
I keep thinking someone had her and she got out again maybe...hope is all I have....... /O;
I agree with you ROOOBY. I always thought if it was Vivi and she looked good she must have escaped from someone. So many dogs have been found and it's almost 2 yrs. for Vivi. She is always in my thoughts and prayers.
Hey everyone - While you are lighting candles, don't forget sweet Duke also. I restarted his candle site the other day - hope it is still lite.
Roooby - Any updates on the hearing for this sweet boy yet? This is so ridiculous what they are doing to him. His website is gone too it seems.
That's what I was thinking, Margot, and now that the area has been posted and mailings of flyers went there, hopefully someone will recognize her. I keep thinking Vivi is looking for her family and that tears me apart. After seeing the story on Ellen about the dog found after 3 years, I just want Vivi back with Jill and Rick.
Did the person reporting seeing her think they know for sure it was her--notice those distinctive markings? I wish that person would post again, they know where the blog is or maybe they are advised against doing so for now.
Perhaps she has been back at JFK. Isn't there a stray/lost dog population there that people feed and leave food out for them, etc.
