If the first gubernatorial debate between Eliot Spitzer and John Faso will be remembered for anything it will be Faso's statement that Spitzer's "going to force gay marriage down the throats of New Yorkers."
That drew laughter from the crowd here at Cornell University and then Spitzer said he would respond to Faso without responding to his "use of metaphors."
Spitzer then repeated his pledge to sign a bill legalizing gay marriage, legislation Faso opposes.

was that a pun? "going to force gay marriage down the throats of New Yorkers."

Man oh man did Faso embarrass himself in this debate - if this race seemed lost from his perspective before tonight, this sealed the deal.
Just an indication of far the gay rights folks have become part of the collective thinking. Forcing something "down someone's throat" (an old and common phrase) now takes on the primary meaning of a form of sex (although Bill Clinton might not agree with that).
Chalk up another victory for the gay rights activists.
What's the next phrase to be "gayified?"
"Don't listen to the mouth, watch the hands..."
