Great ideas: Why don't LI congressmen buy us gas?

Best idea we've seen in a long time:

Multi-millionaire Jack Davis, running for Congress in Tom Reynolds' old seat upstate, underwrites a four-hour gas sale for $1.50 a gallon at a Sunoco station in Greece. He even pumps some of it. The idea is that $1.50 was the price when Bush took office.

Something resembling madness ensues.

It seems to definitely be a way to draw a crowd.
