Israel, Weitzman on board Jews for Obama effort

Nassau Comptroller Howard Weitzman and Rep. Steve Israel, formerly for Hillary, are pitching in on a new Jewish outreach effort for Obama -- Obama Jewish Community Leadership Committee of Metropolitan New York.

Or, maybe you prefer the catchy acronym -- OJCLCMNY.

Liz Benjamin has details at the Daily Politics, here. It's designed to raise the community's comfort level, Weitzman says:

"Look, we go through this in the Jewish community every four years. There are some Jews who are simply Republicans. I don't worry about them. They're not going to vote for our candidate. There are other people who simply need to be reassured, and that's what we have to do."
