Why are they on TV???
I'm having a problem with how decisions are being made in the hiring of our local TV newspeople.
Let me start off by stating that I am not a fan of the news media.
I don't trust them.
However, I have now come to a whole new level of disgust about this industry.
It has come to my attention that the last 3 major news hires in Chicago...all have one thing in common.
And you need to be aware of this.
Pictured below are the 3 latest hires in the Chicago TV Market.

Hello TV news directors!!!!
Don't think that you can sneak this by me and the greater Chicagoland viewership without consequence.
We are no longer going to accept hiring people just because they look a specific way or have a particular letter in their name.
If you didn't see it...(Hello!!!! Wake up and smell the coffee)
News people are now being hired just because they have the letter "Z" in their name!!!
Viewers Beware!!!
This is no coincidence.
I have lived and worked in this market for a combined total of 30 years and have never seen 3 people in a row hired with the letter "Z" in their names.
I'm sure this is an idea that has been pushed by consultants.
These are the same consultants who pushed NBC 5 to hire the "All-innuendo News Team" of Pete Sack, Dick Johnson and Ophelia Boosom 5 years ago.
This won't work either.
There's only one original Z...and she is real deal.
My old lover...or as I affectionately call her "Hot-Z-Tot-Z"
Pam Zekman

Chicagoland viewers ...don't fall for it.
Count yourself warned.

Who is this "Barz" of which you speak?
(He seemed to have put on some GMA pounds whilst in NY.)

I was in Chicago last week and caught NBC 5 in the morning with Dick Johnson & Pete Sack. For Pete's (and Dick's) sake, this is too funny to not comment on. So seriously, does Ophelia Boosom exist?
Enquiring minds (and hands) want to know??
