My Police Encounter 7 1/2 Months Pregnant
So, Paul told you all about officer friendly.
He told you how I had an opportunity to meet him Thursday.
Although, I might say, he wasn't quite as "friendly" to me as he is to Paul.
He wasn't mean....but just not that cordial to a 7 and 1/2 month pregnant woman who was trying to press through the treacherous downpour to make it to work on time in the wee hours of the morning.
With swollen feet and all, I had to follow officer friendly to the police station to sign for my citations. (I guess because I have an out of state license.)
He did get out off his squad car to walk me inside, but I guess because I was on the phone with my job, filling them in, he was tired of standing in the deluge and left me.
Mind you, he led me to park a mile from the entrance to the police station..
Was he trying to insinuate that I needed the extra steps???
Perhaps.
So, I took a deep breath, opened the door, and took off running to the door....YES RUNNING!
I was trying not to get soaked because this is the one day I didn't have an umbrella in the car.
Didn't matter.
I was soaked.
I sat for a few minutes inside the police station.
I watched a couple of people come in and out, in handcuffs.
And then I signed my papers and got out of there.
Officer friendly didn't even say goodbye to me.
He just turned his back and walked off in the distance.
Friendly???? I don't know.
That wasn't very courteous considering I'm really late for work now.
That's okay.
We will see each other again in September when we meet for a court date.
Maybe he will have thought about me and we can patch things up.
After all, like Paul, I'm just a law abiding citizen who respects Chicago's finest!

Hey, Val. Here's what happened to me with an "Unofficer Unfriendly" from Melrose Park, Il. He stopped me as I pulled up in front of my house. My landlady and all neighbors watched, using their clever ways of seeing things behind drapes or curtains.
He claimed that I didn't come to a full stop on the corner where I lived. I lived there for a year. You have to come to a full stop, and then make a right turn.
My words to him were: "A stop is a stop." I put my hands on my hips. He remarked, "Don't put your hands on your hips again, or you'll be sorry.!!"
Then he gave me a citation and a court date to save myself from violation on my driving record and/if I didn't want to pay the ticket.
On said court date, I had to take the morning off from work. BUT OFFICER DIDN't APPEAR!!! My case was dropped.
But to remind me & others of what potentially baaaaad people we could be, we had to sit through an hour of reviewing the State Rules of the Road.
Grrr.
Hope your Officer Unfriendly doesn't show at your court. They don't get paid to appear for these things. But they do have to meet their traffic quotas--beware.

WHAT IS IT WITH THESE UNFRIENDLY officers!! I just had something similar happen to me in GURNEE!!!! he didnt even smile!!! not that i'm asking for great conversation after going 14 miles per hour over the speed limit.. but grrrr I'm already miserable enough!!!!! I'm also 7 months pregnant.. and I consider myself - FRIENDLY despite the swollen cankles.. and uncomfortable waddle that i have to do to get from place to place!!!!
THAT makes me VERY upset - because 7 months ago - when I wasnt all swollen and knocked up- HE WOULD HAVE LET ME GO!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Val, this has nothing to do with officer friendly. I love your hair and would like to know who's your stylist?

Hi Chantel,
My stylist's name is Vonda Kennedy.
She's working out of Harvey right now at Strictly Hair.

I got pulled over on my way home the last time I was pregnant, and was so embarrassed to burst into tears... hormones are nasty. Go get 'em, Val!

Hey Mrs. Warner, maybe all that driving you did while living in Roswell N.M. rubbed off on you. My advice to you is forget the way those aliens use to drive and try to get back to reality, Congrats on the soon to be new addition to the family and I hope to see you soon its been too long, take care. We all love and miss you.
