FAMOUS IN OUR OWN MINDS
So, with the holiday weekend approaching, and some free time at hand, I thought it might be good to remind folks on the Morning Show how to behave in public.
You see occasionally, (not as often as we'd like to think), we get recognized.
Granted, it's usually, "Aren't you Rosie O'Donnell?"
But the point is when we're off the air, out and about, there's always a chance someone might come up and say hello.
So, don't do what I did not long ago.
I was dining at a fine establishment in the South suburbs with my sisters when a smiling waitress approached the table.
She quietly asked if I minded if she asked me a question.
I said, "Did you want to know if I work for WGN-TV?"
She said, "No. I wanted to know if you knew you had toilet paper hanging out of the back of your pants."
I did.
So, Larry, Paul, Pat, and the rest of you on-air jokers, here's a tip:
When approached, just smile and say Happy Thanksgiving. Chances are, your fly is open.

Robin, What a treasure you are. I love this post.
Some roommates of mine had gone to the zoo (blah) one afternoon. They spotted a lady in front of them who had just stepped out from the ladies room. They debated, poked fun, and discussed whether to tell the lady about the tp hanging out from her pants.
The ninnies didn't tell the lady! You had a good waitress. I won't ask if you left her a good tip for saving you further embarrassment--esp. since you represent WGN

Robin! You are so hilarious! Lemme tell ya, if I saw you (since I live in the south burbs - orland) I swear I would ask for an autograph and give you the props you so deserve!
btw - your sister taught at QOP when I attended there several years ago.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Robin:
You could NEVER be mistaken for Rosie!!!! Don't be so harsh on yourself!!!! All the guys in the morning pick on you enough. Don't give them anymore material.

Hey Robin, someone should share your words of wisdom with a certain sports anchor from ABC7. I saw him at a movie theater a few years ago and he was a total jerk to the usher.
I've been watching you guys on the "Old number 9" since like 1994 (I was in jr.high then). I love you guys!!If I saw one out and about I'd probably just stare for a few seconds.
P.S
Robin, don't let Larry and Pat stop you from singing. I like hearing "Bet on it" and "All for One" at 7 in the morning.
