Give blood with Soxman!

I know this is fairly late notice, but a good friend to the WGN Morning Sports team (and to Sox fans far and wide) is involved with a good cause this weekend, and he asked me to pass this along.

Southside Super fans and local journalist, Soxman & Batboy will help Heartland Blood Centers kick off their Huddle for the Heartland Blood Drive at the Celebration Community Life Center, 919 S. Washington Street, in Naperville on Saturday, April, 19, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 P.M.

The Chicago Falcons, a semi-pro football team, and several blood recipients from Chicagoland will also assist Heartland in hosting this large scale blood drive event to support the ongoing need for blood donations. Thirty-three hospitals, rely solely on Heartland Blood Centers for all of their blood product needs.

“Chicago sports fans have honored me by calling me a sports fan super hero,” said Soxman. “The real heroes are those who help save thousands of lives each year by donating blood. We’re honored to join this super team.”

To celebrate the festivities of the day, there will be raffle prizes, including White Sox tickets donated by Soxman, for anyone who shares the gift of life. All blood donors will receive a coupon for a FREE double crust fruit pie from Bakers Square . Blood donors will also have a chance to meet blood recipients Soxman and Batboy will be signing pictures and cheering on blood donors.

**To schedule your blood donation time, please contact Ammie Tabone at 708.342.9765 or atabone@heartlandbc.org **
