It's been awhile, but Pat and Paul are back together and doing their promo thing! They have all the goods on Monday's Morning Show...plus, they have a cookie taste test. Check it out...
You've probably seen WMAQ's pathetic attempt at a Friday Dance, a segment we started here more than a decade ago. Where we incorporate humorous clips from our show, MAQ simply has their staff stand around and dance for the longest two minutes you've ever experienced.
Sadly, they're doing what other stations are doing in Cincinatti and even smaller markets. It is forced. It's lame. It is nothing like what we do and the reason they don't show a montage of fun clips is because they have none to show. There show is void of anything fun or suprising.
Here is a sample of my running list of actual clips from the last month.
It gives you an idea of what you might miss if you tune into channels 7, 5, or Fox (I dont' include 2 because I already know you are not watching them.)

Mike Ditka pitching Levitra was bad, but at least it was a national ad campaign, and we'd HEARD of Levitra. The Punky QB has been relegated to the bottom right of pg. 32 in the Chicago Sun Times.

Viewer Mike Larmon was nice enough to help us with our famous Weather in a Minute stunt Thursday morning. His Cubmobile used to be a taxi in the Philippines or something like that. I nearly took out one of the WGN salespeople’s BMW with the side car.

I've never understood the logic behind the personalized license plate. What's wrong with a random assortment of letters and numbers? Do you think I'll be OK with you cutting me off because I'm so enamored of your "DAMN IM L8" plates? The answer is NO. I'll just think you're a bigger moron.
The best is when people have their name, followed by 1 or 2 numbers, like TOMMY 19. Usually it's not because the number has any type of significance, but because TOMMY's 1 - 18 were taken. So instead of going with something different, Tommy decides to let everyone know that he was only the 19TH MOST CLEVER person in the state to ask for those tags.
Here's the thing. I'm not completely against vanity plates. I've seen some phenomenally good ones (http://www.coolpl8z.com/top-100-best-vanity-license-plate-ideas.php). Unfortunately, most of the creative minds in our country spend their time writing books, composing symphonies and painting masterpieces.
Not thinking of 8-character witticisms.
Unemployment is a delicate issue in this economic climate. That's why I'd usually refrain from saying someone should lose his or her job- and I will once again.
Instead, I'm calling for the entire San Francisco Giants' marketing department to lose their jobs.
I just returned from Disney World with my family and experienced the magic like never before. During one of those fairytale performances, I was called out of the audience to play "The Beast," (although I felt more like Goofy.)
It was odd dancing with a beautiful woman (Belle) in front of my wife, but she was comforted by the fact that by incorporating this fantasy into the WGN blog, we can write part of the trip off on our taxes.
