Residents of Northport line the streets as locals march during their Memorial Day Parade.

They were screaming and diving, flying right past each other in an awe inspiring demonstration of Naval Air Power. The Blue Angels rehearsed their entire show in Friday, one day before the official start of the 2008 Jones Beach Air Show.

The F-22 Raptor lands in Islip

A pair of semi-stealth F-22 Raptors landed today at MacArthur Airport in Islip. Loud? The planes did several fly-bys that caused car alarms to go off in the airport parking lot. No word if any windows were shattered. At its top speed, the planes move at a rate of one-mile for every three to four seconds. Was waiting for Maverick and Goose to come strutting out of the jets -- or at least Ice -- but these pilots were actually cooler.




Lindenhurst native leads Blue Angels in flight

Capt. Kevin Mannix, Flight Leader of the Blue Angels grew up in Lindenhurst. He is back on Long Island this weekend for the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Air Show at Jones Beach.

ExploreTV: Surfing in Long Beach

Season 2, Episode 2: ExploreTV host Anne Machalinski wanted to learn how to surf. So, we sent her to Surf2Live and master surf instructor Elliot Zuckerman in Long Beach.

Annie Mac is a great sport, so she didn't mind getting beat up by the waves for our amusement. I recommend the front face plant (filmed from the side). It's rich.

Practicing for the Jones Beach Airshow

We went up for a ride in an Extra 300L, flow by Major John Klatt of the Air National Guard. Maj. Klatt retured from a tour of duty in Iraq last year, and he's headed back to Iraq later this year. We rolled around and flew past the Statue of Liberty, and never once lost our lunch.

Police officer struck by drunk driver

A Nassau County police officer was seriously injured when a drunk driver slammed into his car during a traffic stop early Sunday morning on the Long Island Expressway.
