CTA riders face weekend problems

The Red and Blue Lines will have temporary service interruptions this weekend starting Friday night, CTA officials said. Service on the northbound and southbound Red Line between Fullerton station and Cermak/Chinatown station will be suspended from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Monday.
Red Line trains will be rerouted to elevated tracks. The CTA will also run three bus shuttles between the Clark/Division station and North/Clybourn station, Grand/State and Chicago/State stations to Chicago/Franklin station and between Jackson/State, Harrison/State, Jackson/Wabash and Roosevelt/Wabash.
Blue Line service between Harlem and Cumberland stations will be stopped from 9 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Monday in an effort to eliminate slow zones on the line's O'Hare branch. Bus shuttles will run between the stations for customers.
