Red Cross Flood Relief

THE RED CROSS SAYS ITS DISASTER RELIEF FUND IS WIPED OUT. IT'S BORROWING MONEY TO HELP OUT FLOOD VICTIMS IN THE MIDWEST.
OFFICIALS SAY THE FUND HAS BEEN DEPLETED OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS BECAUSE A LACK OF LARGE-SCALE DISASTERS THAT BRING ATTENTION TO THE RELEVANCE OF THE RED CROSS.
SO FAR, FLOOD RELIEF IN THE MIDWEST HAS COST THE RED CROSS ABOUT 15 MILLION DOLLARS.
BUT, IT HAS ONLY RAISED 3 MILLION DOLLARS TOWARDS THE FLOOD RESPONSE.
