PRETTY IN PINK - SURVIVOR PARTY

Hundreds of women packed a ballroom at the Houstonian Hotel for the Susan G. Komen Survivor Party. The annual affair celebrates Breast Cancer survivors and this year I was honored to serve as emcee. Standing at the podium I was overjoyed looking out at all the faces of those who had faced breast cancer and those who are still fighting. One of the highlights from the evening came when I had the pleasure of introducing Viola Kaplan who is 89 years young and has 43 years as a breast cancer survivor, I have to tell you she is one of the coolest 89 year olds that I have ever met. I also got a chance to see one of my middle school classmates, Tarshia Boutte, who is celebrating her first year as a breast cancer survivor.

As one of the honorary chairs for this year's Race for The Cure I invite you to come out and join us on Saturday, October 4th as we walk to raise funds and awareness to help in the fight against Breast Cancer. www.komen-houston.org
