Chan Lowe cartoon: Barack Obama, head shill

heir.gifThe White House handlers obviously believe that their strongest suit is the Pitchman-In-Chief, and they're playing their hand for all it's worth.

The Charismatic One, in an unprecedented tour de force, appeared on five morning yak shows on Sunday.

Then came the David Letterman appearance, another first for a sitting president.

While poll numbers show that the President himself remains personally popular, his programs continue to be decidedly less so, and there is a clear danger here that repeatedly putting him out there as the head shill is going to wear thin over time.

If there's one thing Americans hate, it's being exposed to the same old shtick over and over. This is why ads lose their effectiveness with overexposure.

For example, I'm sick of seeing that couple holding hands in those side-by-side bathtubs (obviously, I watch a lot of news programs), and wondering how on earth they managed to rig the plumbing for them when they're perched on some Grand Canyon pinnacle five thousand feet in the air, or why anybody would want to take a bath in separate tubs way up there in the first place.

I figure if they're going to insult my intelligence like that, then I'm not going to spend my hard-earned medical insurance dollars on their lousy pills.

See? This is the risk the White House runs.

He's everywhere but fox news. It shows what a real coward he is. Only liberal idiots can be lead to believe he's anything more than the phony and liar he really is.

Only idiots can be lead to believe that there is anything on Fox resembling news.

Actually this is way too late. I can't believe a supposedly savy whitehouse didn't realize that the folks who have been raking in billions from healthcare profiteering weren't going to be willing to spend whatever it takes to make sure nothing changes in their bottom line. The anti-reform overkill was incredibly predictable.

finally Chan is criticizing this administration

Between the stupid bathtub commercials pushing pills and Obama on 24/7, i've gone back to reading my books! Great Cartoon!

What have you done with Mr. Lowe? Chan would never produce a cartoon that was in the least bit critical of the Obama administration.

Unfortunately, the news media overinflate the same right wing crazy attacks over and over again -controversy sells. The only way that Obama can cut through the malarky and lies (death panels?) is to put on a media barrage. It seems that the news folks don't like their controversies being interrupted.

bobbyjoe - of the thousands of complaints lobbied against BHO and his administration, "death panels" is the only "lie" you can come up with? Without using the administrations own propaganda, show us how we're lying in our criticisms.

Fox Who? - I think the same thing about CNN/NBC/MSNBC/ABC/CBS
