Chan Lowe: Ted Deutch gets the ultimate endorsement
It's all over but the voting. For that matter, why don't we just install Ted Deutch as Robert Wexler's replacement by acclamation? It would save the taxpayers special election money when it could be better used elsewhere.
I have nothing against Ted Deutch. He's my state senator, and hasn't done anything embarrassing, so he'd probably represent me in Washington as well as Robert Wexler--maybe better, since he actually lives in the district.
The fact that Deutch has already been hand-picked by Wexler as his successor and endorsed by such local luminaries as Reps. Alcee Hastings, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Ron Klein--who all say they look forward to working with him in congress--leaves me feeling a little like an illegal alien in my own district. I live there, but I have no say in my representation.
If I bother to vote, and I always do because I still naively believe in the power of voting, I may just vote for KoKo the Klown or whatever straw man (or woman) the Republicans draft to be their sacrificial lamb in the special election.
If enough people share my philosophy, it will keep Deutch looking over his shoulder knowing that his mandate wasn't unanimous. This is a healthy activity for any member of congress.

I love it! Wexler, Aronson, Fladell and Weiss and Handler need to stop thinking they control everything, and their little partisan condo hacks need to start thinking for themselves!

The fact of the matter is that Deutch will win and actually deserves to win. He is one of the few Statesmen in politics.

"[E]ndorsed by such local luminaries as Reps. Alcee Hastings, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Ron Klein . . ."
Ugh. I threw up in my mouth after seeing those "luminaries" listed. Alcee the Impeached, Sgt. "I Know Nothing" Schultz and Klein. I used to have hope that humanity wasn't as unintelligent as I feared, but when those three keep getting re-elected (and I live in Sgt. Schultz' district and vote against her every time) I realize that the public is really, really dumb.

Elections are bought-and-paid-for events with outcomes determined by the minority of the populace that participate in the process because they are on the government gravy train. Most people do not bother to vote, let alone become informed and involved. That leaves the entire process in the hands of the jackals and hyenas that fight for the spoils of power. Public service is a forgotten and minimized goal, pushed aside by inflated egos and rampant greed. As long as the general public remains lazy and apathetic - content to be mostly ignorant, and to actually do nothing more than the usual bitching and moaning when something strikes close enough to force them to notice corruption, injustice, favoritism, fraud, larceny and a myriad of other shameful shenanigans that are the usual and common occupation of our "elected representatives" - nothing will change. Sadly, for all of us, Chan Lowe's brilliant and courageous spotlights on the wrong, the ridiculous and the incredible never reach the audience that could make a difference.

Deutch is a douche bag. This guy was in kahoots with Aaronson & Hasner in the give away of 2000 acres of Palm Beach County land to Broward County so Wayne Huizenga could build. This obvious scam and pay-off of these three corrupt scum-bags is truly offensive.Anyone who votes for douche is an idiot.

Senator Deutch is one of those few office holders (I'm reluctant to use the word politician because it has such a bad connotation!) who actually work each day to improve the lives of his constituents! I know he will do the same as my Congressman. I adore Congressman Wexler and Schultz - I think they also work every day to give a voice for those who believe they have no voice in their government.
This isn't being "hand-picked" - there is so little time for people to get to know the candidates that is it vital that people know who the elected officials, who they know and trust, recommend for the position.
I hope everyone reading this comment listens to me. I am active in our area and have met and know the positions of the candidates. Senator Deutch is the only candidate that best mirrors Congressman Wexler's values. I am going to actively work to make sure that Ted Deutch is my next Congressman because he shares my values. I am not connected - I am not a lobbyist. I am a concerned constituent - period!

Ted Deutch beneficiary of Scott Rothstein. Will Ted return the ill gotten contributions? He 's not saying much...wants to hide it from the public...I guess?
