We're just financially challenged.

We've been in a recession since the 90's but no one did anything about it. We were told that the economy was strong and there was no inflation all the while they were encouraging our jobs to be shipped to Puerto Rico, then Sri Lanka & now China. We couldn't understand why the harder we worked the behinder we got but we figured it had to be us. We must be doing something wrong because each month we seemed to have less money to pay our bills. We had to use our credit cards to supplement our income but we were told it was going to be OK, that the economy was strong. We felt confident in spending money we didn't have. We thought it had to be something we were doing wrong so we got a part time job but by the time we paid the higher income taxes, we found that the only one who benefited was the government. So we kept supplementing our income with our credit cards. Eventually our credit cards max out and we have no where to turn so we're forced to refinance the house, take out a second mortgage. Then the gas prices start to go up. There isn't any extra money for the added expenses so we slide on the mortgage and now we're going to lose the house. But not to worry because I'm a silver lining person and by November, I will have completely forgotten everything my elected officials have done to me and I'll be ready to re-elect them!
And the cycle continues......
