I'm hoping that you did that on purpose.
the title "deck the hall" is the CORRECT title for that carol
since in medieval and Victorian times, most estates or castles
had a "hall" (i.e. Great Hall) where most festivities would take place.
it has only been in the last 20-30 years that the title has been changed to a plural (I believe).
If you did that knowing those facts, i bow to your superior satire
