For those who haven't seen it elsewhere, like the White House web site or YouTube, I present, without editorial comment, the fifth annual White House "Barney Cam" holiday video. Barney, of course, is the First Dog.

I wonder if Barney is still telling his pal W. to "stay the course" in Iraq??

Na John E Barney is hiding in the basement. To much yelling from Cheney

Looks like Barnes got a' tarted up' scottie (Beasley?) for xmas!
Rove cracking jokes reminds me of Goebbels' Christmas Speech, 1938.
Snow-job said 'Happy Christmas"!!
Whoa! There's the tarted up Beasley again!
Laura said 'Happy Holiday"! And Fox News declared that the War on Christmas was over!
I like Barney the best!

This was cute the first time they did it but enough of the stupid pet tricks...or is it stay the course.

You must find someone to blame. Do you really imagine Clinton or Kerry could have won this war by now? Sometimes the only peace you find will be at the end of war. But we don't have the stomach.

Robin,
A) It's doubtful either of them would have taken our eye off of Bin Laden and gone into Iraq, B) I'm sure you think we would've won Vietnam if only we stayed longer
Posted by: jethro | December 13, 2006 8:33 AM
Actually, Jethro, Clinton never had his eye on Bin Laden, never responding or doing anything of any consequence while he was blowing up our embassies, bombing the WTC, bombing the Cole, etc. John Kerry would have set the French in to get bin Laden.

"John Kerry would have set the French in to get bin Laden.

At least Kerry would have sent SOMBODY to get OBL.

John D,

Lots to read here. Don't forget that in your reponse, you need to:
1. Discredit the source. Several here for you
to trash. Good luck with Frontline and WP.
2. Call out some dirty dems
3. Finish blaming Clinton for something else

John D-
Clinton was able to get the individuals who carried out the 1993 WTC bombing convicted to life sentence through the normal courts system.
Why is GWB incapable of this? Why hasn't anyone connected to the 2001 attacks been put on trial, other thean the nutjob Moussoui, who confessed, but even then the Bushies almost screwed it up.
Bush has made a grave mistake at Gitmo. None of those people can ever stand trial due to the abuse and torture they have undergone. Do we hold them without charges forever?
and meanwhile, OBL is still at large...

"Bush has made a grave mistake at Gitmo. None of those people can ever stand trial due to the abuse and torture they have undergone. Do we hold them without charges forever?"
Tony,
You just hit a the big nerve. 'We can't take the truth'.
What has been done is so un-American it can never see the light of day. Those people at Gitmo and other locations will never see the light of day again. All because GWB skirted Geneva and the US Constitution, and Magna Carta. Also, he has the power to do it to anyone he chooses.

No. because they would have figured out, being privy to the inside poop, that the war on Iraq was not necessary.

Morris, You seem to have rewritten history to suit your opinion. All of congress had the inside scoop. The American people were in support of the offensive.
Sure it has turned out to have been the wrong move. Our intelligence was largely wrong. It would have been just as wrong with a Democrat as President. To blame Bush is a political decision on your part.
When a dirty bomb hits, how long do you want to wait before doing something?
Posted by: Robin | December 14, 2006 12:47 AM
Robin,
I really don't understand your logic. Yes, a lot of Americans were in support of the offensive -- until we found out that the WMD's did not exist. When we said lets correct this mistake by getting out of Iraq, we were called quitters and flip floppers. I think that most people when they find themselves driving the wrong way down a one way street think it is better to turn around than to stay the course and hope for the best. Yes, the intelligence was wrong and it MAY have been just as wrong with a Democratic President, but he or she may not have attacked Iraq. The problems began when a Republican President attacked Iraq and refused to admit that he had made a mistake. That is a fact, not a political decision.

"You seem to have rewritten history to suit your opinion. All of congress had the inside scoop. The American people were in support of the offensive."
Congress had the TeamBush load of cooked ♨ that was provided to them.
Some of the American people were in support. Some were not. Are you aware that tens of millions of American's knew it was a load of BS just by reading the news papers? Team Blix was working. Deterrence was working 100%, containment, 97%. Some leakage, but not worth this catastrophe.
You know, I can remember some right wing blabberer saying that enforcing the 'no fly zone' was too expensive, so settling the matter once and for all was just a great idea.
Back to the congress; of course most of those half steppers supported the war vote. They are, mostly, political cowards, and would do or say anything to get a vote or to enhance their 'patriotic resume'.
The Democratic performance in the run up was weak, pathetic even, but the Republics are in charge of the whole Federal gvmt. They will be fairly blamed.
You ask:
"When a dirty bomb hits, how long do you want to wait before doing something?"
Long enough to determine the correct country to pancake.

Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads
+++
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Takin' that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feelin' okay this mornin'
And you know,
We're on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
CHORUS
WELL WE KNOW WHERE WE'RE GOIN'
BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHERE WE'VE BEEN
AND WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE KNOWIN'
BUT WE CAN'T SAY WHAT WE'VE SEEN
AND WE'RE NOT LITTLE CHILDREN
AND WE KNOW WHAT WE WANT
AND THE FUTURE IS CERTAIN
GIVE US TIME TO WORK IT OUT
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there...take you there
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
and it's all right, baby, it's all right
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
We're on a road to nowhere
