MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- With television stations in Iowa already jam packed with political advertising, Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign rolled out another new ad today as the Illinois Democrat continues a six-day visit to the state.
The new spot, called "High and Dry," features an Iowa man whose pension, according to the campaign, was raided when CEO’s decided to pull $19 million from the pension fund, leaving him with a payment of $379 a month.
“I’m telling the CEOs it hurts America when they cash out, and leave workers high and dry,” Obama says in the ad. “It’s an outrage. You’ve gotta have somebody in the White House who believes it’s an outrage.”
The ad is part of a campaign swing in the first-in-the-nation caucus state where Obama has hit economic messages hard in advance of the Jefferson-Jackson dinner in Des Moines, a major Democratic Party event where all of the candidates will speak Saturday evening.

Comments
It is indeed an outrage when CEOs cash out and leave working people high and dry.
Hillary spins everything the way the polls tell her to, but Obama's gaining support everyday in Iowa, because he simply tells it like it is.
Hillary is trying to take credit for everything good that happened during Bill Clinton's presidency and distance herself from everything bad.
At the same time, she points to her years as First Lady as the experience that makes her prepared for the presidency, yet she refuses to release any of the documents that would shed light on her role in Bill Clinton's White House.
Bush has so badly damaged America's self-esteem, that we've got Bush goggles on. Many are willing to simply settle for turning back the clock to the Clinton years, when we should be looking for something completely new, like Barack Obama. How can anyone forget how politically-turbulent the 90s were? And how can we settle for a candidate who can't even answer a yes-or-no question with a clear answer?

Someone saying Obama tells it like it is is about as funny as anything i have ever heard. You mean the guy that never voted on any controversial bill at all in IL, skipped votes in the US Senate then attacks people for voting one way or the other, or how about the fact that he attacks HIllary for not releasing the documents from her time in the Whitehouse and at the same time refuses to relese his documents from his time as an IL Senator. I also like how he refuses to release the names of his past donors and doesnt list any of the names of people who have raised over $200,000 for his presedential campaign. Obama is a politician in the worst sense of the word. How could anyone take someones word who was basically the King of Corruption (Emil Jones) star pupil. I guess when you learn from the best what else is to be expected.

I love the ad. I'm an Obama fan and supporter. Way to go, Obama. I know you're the man for the job.

After reading the Swamp, I confidently predict that Sen. Obama will win the Democratic Party's Iowa caucus.
In fact, the vote in Iowa will be unanimous in his favor.
I can say that based on the Swamp coverage of the Iowa primary. Obama is the only candidate they cover--cover his every utterance, no matter how banal, 24/7--so I can only assume that nobody else is running there.

After reading the Swamp, I confidently predict that Bruce is a Republican mouthpiece.
In fact, he speaks for all Republicans.
I can say that based on the Swamp coverage of Bruce. Bruce is the only hack they cover--cover his every utterance, no matter how banal, 24/7--so I can only assume that no Republican has a different opinion than Bruce.

I don't wear the flag pin, but I never forget to put a flag in the background of my ads. Everyone should realize that the flag changes meaning all the time. It is like a mood ring.
(Yes it is a word.)

It is a serious issue. I need to know his plans though.

Of course if that same business was bled dry because of death taxes Obama would say it was all well and good. Fair share and all that populist bilge.

whatnow,
Why would the business owner not hire a estate planner to guarantee the money either went to a family trust or a charity and as little as possible to the government? If you are bled dry because of the Estate Tax a) tell us who because I've never seen a real life example and b) the person was irresponsible not to have an estate planner if they didn't want to be hit with the tax.
